The World’s “Most Dangerous” Spiritual Guru

Oprah’s rise to power and increasing influence opens up theological questions for me: is it satan who ‘anoints’ (with an unholy anointing) and raises up in influence someone like this, or is it God, for his own purposes? We know even satan can do nothing without God allowing it…Someone like Oprah sort of reminds me of Pharaoh:For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, I have raised you up for this very purpose of displaying My power in [dealing with] you, so that My name may be proclaimed the whole world over. So then He has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills. Romans 9:17-18

From Lifesite News: The World’s “Most Dangerous” Spiritual Guru: Oprah Begins 10-Week Online New Age Class

This past Monday Oprah Winfrey, considered by many to be the world’s most influential woman, began a ten-week long online course on the best-selling book, “A New Earth,” by New Age guru, Eckhart Tolle. “A New Earth” has already sold some 3.5 million copies worldwide, thanks largely to the publicity given to it by Oprah. According to Oprah, 500,000 people from across the world signed on to the first segment of the online course, to spend an hour and a half listening to Ekhart and Oprah talking about chapter 1 of the book, and taking calls from participants.

n recent years Oprah has been inviting an increasing number of representatives of new age spirituality onto her talk shows, including figures such as Marianne Williamson, Barbara DeAngelis, LaVar Burton, Richard Carlson, Betty Eadie, and many others. Oprah has strongly endorsed many of their works, and has included some of them in her “Book Club” list.

Since the beginning of this year Oprah has offered daily classes on her XM radio station on the book “A Course in Miracles.” “A Course in Miracles” (or ACIM for short) was written by another major player in the New Age movement, Helen Schucman, who claims that the book was dictated to her by an interior voice, which she identifies with Jesus Christ. In that course, the listener is taught that there is no sin, is told not to make the “mistake” of “clinging to the old rugged cross,” and that the name of “Jesus Christ as such is but a symbol.”

Oprah, who is a self-labeled “Christian”, was recently named the “most dangerous woman in the world” by Bill Keller, considered by some to be the world’s leading Internet evangelist. He accused Oprah of peddling the equivalent of “spiritual crack.” Keller has been warning the subscribers of his Daily Devotional for years about Oprah and how she uses her TV program to promote every New Age philosophy in the world, including the wildly popular book and DVD last year, “The Secret,” which teaches readers or viewers that simply by desiring them strongly enough, one may obtain wealth, health and happiness.

However, rarely has Oprah shown more enthusiasm for a New Age guru than for the so-called Eckhart Tolle, who takes his first name from the well-known 13th century Catholic Rhineland mystic, Meister Eckhart. Tolle is the author of several books including “The Power of Now,” and, most recently, “A New Earth.”

Much like many other New Age systems, Eckhart’s “spirituality” is a vague, ethereal blend of spiritual theories and ideas, gleaned from all of the world’s major religions. Eckhart promises the attainment of “inner peace” and a higher state of consciousness by utilizing methods of meditation that plunge one into the “now.” He also says that mankind is in a moment of crisis, in which the race must either achieve the next stage in its evolution by attaining “higher consciousness”, or destroy itself and the planet.

The title of his newest book, “A New Earth,” is taken from Chapter 21 from the Book of Revelations, in which the Biblical visionary says that he “saw a new heaven and a new earth.” Throughout his newest book Eckhart sprinkles quotations from Scripture, and he frequently speaks about Christ and Scripture in his talks.

The core of Eckhart’s teaching is a religious relativism, in which he eschews all rigid doctrine or exclusive claims to truth as dangerous and manifestations of “egoiic consciousness.” “The moment you say ‘only my belief’ or ‘our belief’ is true, and you deny other people’s beliefs, then you’ve adopted an ideology,” Eckhart told the participants in Monday’s online class. “And then religion becomes a closed door.”

Eckhart explains away conscience and feelings of guilt as but the consequence of years of conditioning. He told one caller, who confessed that she still feels guilt when she decides against going to church on Sunday, that she must recognize that “the voice” which tells her to go to church is simply the result of social conditioning.

One caller into the show told Oprah that she was a Catholic, and was having trouble seeing how Eckhart’s teachings could be reconciled with her Catholicism.

Oprah responded that the caller must simply realize that Christianity is but one of many ways to achieve the “higher consciousness,” and that the belief that one must follow a set of doctrines is a consequence of “egoiic consciousness.” While Christianity is a valid way to achieve high states of spirituality, it must not be considered a unique way, or a “correct way”.

“Jesus,” said Oprah, “came to show us Christ-consciousness…Jesus came to show us the way of the heart…Jesus came to say, ‘Look I’m going to live in the body, in the human body and I’m going to show you how it’s done.’ These are some principles and some laws that you can use to live by to know that way”

She concluded, “I don’t believe that Jesus came to start Christianity.”

“What Jesus said is much deeper than what you, how the church interprets it. There’s a depth to it. And it reflects your own depth when you read it. So there’s no conflict between this teaching, which is purely spiritual, and any religion.”

Oprah also indicated that there are many names that one might give to that which she calls “God”, including “energy,” “consciousness” and “life.”

Oprah also contrasted what she called the “old” spirituality vs. the “new” spirituality, as espoused by Eckhart. “The old way is the hierarchy has the authority. Church authorities tell you how to worship in church and how to behave outside of church. The new spirituality is that you are your own best authority as you work to know and love yourself, you discover how to live a more spiritual life.”

Despite Oprah and Eckhart’s reduction of Christianity to but one “way” amongst many other equally legitimate ways to God, and their calling Christ a “revolutionary” who has been misunderstood by the Church, and who simply came to manifest “Christ-consciousness”, a quick search through the internet reveals that many Christians are following Oprah in attempting to fuse together the teachings of Eckhart, and the doctrines of the historical Christian church.

One writer on the message board on Oprah’s website wrote a message with the subject line, “Scared I’m replacing my religion, which I love.” “I just started the book” she wrote, “and I love the idea of the book but I guess the question I keep repeating in my head is will this be replacing my religion? How do the two work together. Can someone please help ease my mind that I’m not turning on the lord.”

Many of the respondents to the questioner confessed that they too had similar misgivings about the book, but “upon reflection”, realized that Tolle draws from numerous Christian sources, and that he and Oprah were giving them a “deeper understanding” of their faith.

However, Keller, and a number of other Christian pastors have begun to actively warn Christians that Oprah and Eckhart’s teachings are by no means compatible with Christianity. “Oprah is now trying to be the spiritual guru to this nation,” said Keller in an appearance on Fox. “Sadly, she is being used as a tool of Satan to lead millions of souls to hell with her false teachings.”

Another pastor, James A. Smith Sr., writing in the Florida Baptist Witness, criticized Oprah’s “spirituality” for its emphasis on the power of the individual to define truth and reality, and to totally control one’s own life. “What this fails to acknowledge is that man dos not define reality; man does not determine what truth is,” wrote Smith. “The source of truth for our decisions and power is the one true God of all reality and He has communicated plenary propositional truths to us in the Bible and remarkably, uniquely in His incarnation in Jesus Christ.

“Oprah, as with other New Agers, is not in pursuit and in communion with God.”

WorldNetDaily columnist Chuck Norris, wrote about Oprah and The New Earth, “The reason Tolle’s psychology and spirituality is marketed so easy is that it is an eclectic mix of conventional and unconventional wisdom, and Western and Eastern beliefs, presented in a tolerant, non-threatening, and non-sectarian way. In other words, it’s ‘Religion Light,’ in which one can be spiritual with ‘little down and no credit.’”

Norris recommended that his readers simply sit down and read a Bible, rather than “A New Earth.” “One could easily save the purchase price of ‘A New Earth’ and subsequently avoid misleading remarks by reading a Bible, which gives a much more thorough and accurate picture of life’s purpose and methods for overcoming its obstacles,” said Norris.

  1. I’d just like to point out an error in your article. You refer to Eckhart Tolle as a “guru”. Actually, Tolle has no desire to be anyone’s guru (and if you watched the webcast you’d hear Tolle clarify as much). Tolle is simply teaching people how to awaken to their own highest level of consciousness, to find their own kingdom within. Christ taught as much, and that is the meaning of Oprah’s comment about Christ not intending to start Christianity. His message is to look within and see the radiance of God in ourselves, and Tolle is just one of many in a long line of teachers who are carrying on that same message.

  2. I’d just like to point out an error in your article. You refer to Eckhart Tolle as a “guru”.

    What is a guru?

a: teacher and especially intellectual guide in matters of fundamental concern
b: one who is an acknowledged leader or chief proponent
c: a person with knowledge or expertise

    also:

Guru (Sanskrit: गुरु), is a term denoting a teacher in the religious or spiritual sense, and is commonly used in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism, as well as in many new religious movements. The guru is seen in these religions as a sacred conduit for wisdom and guidance.

This seems to fit him perfectly, for as you pointed out Bryan, he believes he is, “teaching people how to awaken to their own highest level of consciousness, to find their own kingdom within.”

Christ taught as much, and that is the meaning of Oprah’s comment about Christ not intending to start Christianity. His message is to look within and see the radiance of God in ourselves, and Tolle is just one of many in a long line of teachers who are carrying on that same message.

No Christ did not teach that God is in all people, What He actually taught/said is you must be born again.

1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; 2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

By admitting we are lost and sinners, ….By faith in Jesus Christ as the only acceptable sacrifice for our sins, …By the ‘acknowledging ‘ that he is THE ONLY WAY, ….By understanding that our righteousness is as ‘filthy rags’ before our Holy God, and that only Jesus’ can make us righteous, do we have the Spirit of God come to abide in us forever….

An unregenerated person…[one who has not been born again], can look all they want into ‘themselves’ Bryan, but they will not find God there.

There is one way, and one way only to God, and its through Christ Jesus.

This is what these false teachers which teach all the new age garbage of ‘looking within for God’, cannot understand.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also...Jn.14

  3. I just want to say… that although i respect and do not criticize you for adhering to your beliefs.. that is to say: that you believe that by believing that Jesus of Nazareth was the born messiah of the world and that you can only go to “heaven” upon your death, by believing in him, and accepting him as you lord and saviour, and repenting your sins….. you are making a fundamental mistake that will ultimately leave you upset and emotional every time you enter into a debate with a person whom does not adopt your doctrine or dogma, or even worse, you will declare that you are right and that everyone else is wrong because they don’t believe exactly as you do… I want you to also know that I am not the one to declare anyone, “wrong”…
That mistake is simple in nature and is easily adjusted… when you quote the Bible… which you do so well… you are using a manuscript that has been re-worked by more governments and political movements than any other set of writings on the planet.
If you, being a student of truth, began to dissect the Bible, a sacred and spiritual text, will find that many of the latest translations (including the King James, New International and any others that are newer) are actually misinterpreted greatly. They push ideas that are not in-line with the intent of the writers.
The only way to truly know if what you are so fiercely defending is the ultimate truth – which i can only assume is what you believe based on the way you so subtly construct your argument to make the point raised by Bryan seem to be an absolute fact in your mind that he is the one that is mistaken and by default you are the “absolutely correct” one… is to use the manuscripts in their original context.
The quotes you provide are taken out of context from the original teachings.
While i am not criticizing your beliefs, I am in fact happy for you to know that you seek to be like Christ – which is all anyone else who seeks the truth is attempting as well. I am concerned for the “faith” of your convictions.

The truth is a simple thing to put into words… Life is happening now… no other reality exists, and “heaven” is not some place for us to spend an eternity after the fact… it is a moment that is occurring now… this very moment, in the depth of your being. This is the full and absolute truth of the teaching… and being a disciple of Christ, like it is so obvious that you are… you will most certainly investigate all these claims for yourself more fully… so that you will have your faith based in the reality of God.. not in the words of a preacher who received his learnings and education from a school that was training a preacher… not a person whom is attempting to live as Christ lived. The most Christ like among you, is not likely to be a teacher… but an example to follow.
By trusting your own research, you are not going against the church, and you are not testing your “faith”, rather you are strengthening your faith.. which is the most Christ like thing you can do. This is where your “faith” will provide you with that needed leverage to render what i am saying as a “lie” that is from “satan”, if you choose to read what I said as an attack against your beliefs.
I know that what i have written will either strike a chord… or will be manipulated in order that you can turn what i have written into more fodder for you to further dig in your heels in your beliefs… whichever it is… life will provide the circumstance that is necessary to further truth consciousness, Christ… or other wise.

  4. Hello B Jones…

Why would you think i would become ‘upset’ and/or ‘emotional? No….i wouldn’t B….
Its not ‘my truth’ i give out but THE truth of the scriptures themselves the ONLY TRUTH: God is more then able to defend His Word.

OK, the scripture quoted in my response to Bryan concerning Jesus being the only way, is from John 14:6:

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

I took the time to look it up for you in the original Greek:

The original text of John 14:6 was written in Greek rather than in Aramaic.

Though all of the books of the New Testament, including the Gospel of John, were first written in Greek, Jesus primarily spoke in Aramaic, a colloquial Semitic language related to Hebrew and entirely different from Greek. (Having come from Nazareth, Jesus also certainly did know and speak Greek, as appears to be the case from the account of his conversation with the Syrophenician woman in Mar 7:26 and other accounts, including possibly Joh 12:20.) With only a few exceptions, all of Jesus’ authentic dialogue in the Greek New Testament are translations from Aramaic to Greek.

*Below is the Greek text of Joh 14:6.

Legei (said) auto (to him) ho Iesous (Jesus) ego (I) eimi (am) he hodos (the way) kai (and) he aletheia (the truth) kai (and) he zoe (the life) oudeis (none) erchetai (comes) pros (to) ton patera (the father) ei (if) me (not) di (through) emou (me).

The truth is a simple thing to put into words… Life is happening now… no other reality exists, and “heaven” is not some place for us to spend an eternity after the fact… it is a moment that is occurring now… this very moment, in the depth of your being.

That is not the Truth B…its only the truth to you because you deny the Word of God:

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14

*In the above, Jesus speaks of Heaven as His “Father’s House.” Twice Jesus uses the world “place” which is in the Greek topos from which we get the word topography. What is topography? It is the study of the lay of the land, of particular places and sites. So, Jesus speaks of Heaven as a house, a home located in a particular place.

9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Revelation 6

23For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: 24Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. Philippians 1

Heaven is a city, the New Jerusalem. Hebrews 11:8-10 says,

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”

Verse 16 speaks further about the city of God.

“But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city.”

In Luke 23:43 Jesus told the repentant thief; “This day thou shalt be with me in paradise.”

    Where is Christ today?

8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1

“…as ye have seen him go into heaven.”

He is in heaven at the right-hand of the Father. Knowingthe Scriptures, the Word of God tells us this, then if God’s Word also says this:

8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5

We can rest assure that at our death, if we are part of the body of Christ (see John 3) we will be in heaven, for we will be ‘present with the Lord’

Not my words B, but the ONLY truth we can be assured of, for it is the Word of God.

  5. Oiks, PJMiller. Good luck with your interlocutors here. It seems that you’ve attracted some contrarians who indeed look at Christianity through the gnostic lens (at best).

B Jones, above, tells you that he/she is NOT criticizing your beliefs, only to follow up that denial by criticizing your beliefs. Amazing. And then Bryan Dechter avers that Jesus was merely the clairvoyant par excellence; Christ’s message is that we are own gods if we but purge ourselves of self-doubt or some such hindrance. Also amazing.

Thank you for taking the time to reflect on the panpsychic/pantheistic heresy which is the Oprah philosophy; thanks, too, for kindly and graciously replying to your antagonists.

Lastly, I have to say that the quotes you’ve attributed to Oprah are frightening. One cannot find a more dismal example of the vapidity of pop-culture’s understanding of all things Christian. Indeed, Oprah’s remarks should send up red flags the world over; as should the fact that she is no doubt constructing a proper metaphysic for us to understand Barack Obama, the “leader” she so stridently supports.

    Peace and mirth,

    Bill Gnade

  6. I thought it worth noting that Oprah’s premiere online event with Mr. Tolle caused the servers to crash, knocking the show offline. Curious, no? Tonight Ms. Oprah hopes things will fare better.

Lesson? Clearly there are some things even the most noble and spiritually ‘mature’ souls cannot control.

    Peace,

  7. Lesson? Clearly there are some things even the most noble and spiritually ‘mature’ souls cannot control.

    aha…amen…

I like your sign-off Bill: “Peace and mirth”

God has blessed me with both. (though not always at the same time!)

  8. i JUST WANTED TO SAY IM VERY MUCH SHOCKED BY THIS REALIZATION. I FEEL THIS IS ALL TRUE AND MY EYES HAVE BEEN UNCOVERED. I FELT LIKE I WAS VERY FOOLED BY THE OPRAH SHOW. I WAS EVEN INTERESTED IN GETTING THE BOOK. I EVEN NOTICE HOW SHE DOESN’T TALK ABOUT GOD SHE TALKS ABOUT THE UNIVERSE AND HIGHER BEING. I THINK THIS ARTICLE SHOULD BE SENT OUT IN AN EMAIL OR SOMETHING. MAKE THE WORLD MORE AWARE. I ONLY SEEKED OUT THIS TRUTH TODAY BECAUSE OF ONE COMMENT THAT WAS MADE ABOUT HOW OPRAH DOESN’T BELIEVE IN JESUS. MANY PEOPLE AREN’T AWARE OF THIS. THIS IS VERY SCAREY. I WAS BEING CONVINCED AND DIDN’T NOTICE. I JUST FELT SHE DOES GOOD, HELPS THE POOR, AND FELT SHE WAS BLESSED BY JESUS. THIS IS VERY BAD, IM VERY SCARED, AND IM PICKING UP MY BIBLE TONIGHT, WISH I HAD IT NOW SO THAT I CAN EXPLORE THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS. THE REALITY IS, THE TIME IS VERY NEAR ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU TAKE A LOOK AT HOW BAD THINGS ARE GETTING ON EARTH. HAVE TO BE READY.

  9. Lisaac,

There are many who are being led astray not only by Oprah but the false teachers she promotes. It does my heart good to read of those like yourself, who are having their eyes opened to the truth (Praise God)

I JUST FELT SHE DOES GOOD, HELPS THE POOR, AND FELT SHE WAS BLESSED BY JESUS

Its an easy mistake to make, but we know that no one can purchase salvation with good works, nor does a person having wealth mean they are being blessed by God. Remember the story Jesus told of the rich man and Lazarus? Luke 16:19-31

Or of the rich young ruler…Mark 10

17And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

Those like Oprah seek another way to receive salvation and eternal life, but Jesus said: ‘I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’

    they reject this as truth.

    IM VERY SCARED,…….

THE TIME IS VERY NEAR ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU TAKE A LOOK AT HOW BAD THINGS ARE GETTING ON EARTH. HAVE TO BE READY.

yes. amen. But there is no reason to be afraid now.

Jesus knows that many are tempted to look into these falsehoods being spread today, but that those like yourself, WILL see the truth concerning these false teachings and teachers and turn to Him. Rejoice (and be at peace) Lisaac, for the Holy Spirit has revealed the truth to you!!

    God bless

  10. I think Jerry Springer is a more straight forward guy than Oprah.
From the onset he showed What he wanted, the line was clearly divided but Oprah sneeked in us with child/women abuse, help for the helpless and now “Jesus is okay am not against Him but hey He is just one of those master guys He had a higher level of consciousness which you can also have” HMMMM IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE IS REPLAYING THE GARDEN OF EDEN DRAMA TAPE (the “apple” sorry fruit looks good)BUT SCRIPTED AND ACTED IN THE USA FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD (FIRST/SECOND/ THIRD–DEVELOPING UNDER-the-DEVELOPED WORLDS).
WHAT CAN I SAY “2TIMOTHY2:19 But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stands, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it.”

  11. Emeka, just my thoughts but i think there is such a thing as false compassion which we as humans and even Christians should beware of falling into.

Helping people is important, especially those hurting or/and in need. The poor, emotionally scar-ed, etc etc…

But ultimately it is compassion spurred by God, through his Spirit, which should lead us to understand how and why we reach out…and in doing so not only offer help for immediate needs, but to offer Christ and the Gospel.

What Oprah has done is reach out one ‘hand’ to those in need physically or to those emotionally damaged, and once doing that offer in the other hand, a false way to attain joy, wisdom, enlightenment, minus Christ.

This is what makes her so very dangerous.

You’re right it is sneaky. I don’t necessarily believe she plotted this out in her mind from the beginning, but has evolved into a tool of satan by her denying the truth of Christ being the only way…

  12. For another viewpoint on this subject, see:

    And, I tend to agree.

  13. jwre,

I didn’t want to delete your comment because of the link you included, so just removed it after checking the website out.

Apparently you agree with the new age teachers who Oprah has been promoting. I would ask you to please rethink your position.

Nothing that they can ever offer you will bring you peace…only the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, can do that for you.

May you come to know Him some day soon…

  14. Actually, I am very thankful for Oprah and the webclass. I’m not sure how Jesus did it but I was in the middle of I believe the second class and all of the sudden a light went on in my head and I turned to God. And I have been there since and have given my life to Christ. Since then(which has only been what 7-8 weeks.) Jesus has given me so much understanding of the Bible, things I could never understand even though I had read the Bible before. He has been pouring out blessings on me and my family on a DAILY BASIS, and I have never been so happy, and exited, and at peace on all my life….
So they call call me dogmatic, and ego driven. Which is their blind mistake, because the first thing a Christian does is put their will( which can be seen as ego) aside and seek God’s will.

I have Christ on my side!!!
Praise God with whom everything is possible! Who wouldn’t want to be on God’s where everything is possible!

    Monique-A friend in Christ

  15. Christian women everywhere are believing the “gospel according to Oprah”! But what is that “gospel”? And is it good news at all?

Oprah and her gurus, including Marianne Williamson, whose “A Course in miracles” appears daily on Oprah radio and the Oprah web site, say:

    We must be saved.
    We are all saviors.
    We must save each other.
Only we can save each other.
All saviors must first be saved.
We must save Jesus for Him to be a Savior.

Well, then, just who was the first person saved to be a savior to those who needed to be saved to be saviors of all to save Jesus who is not needed since only we can save each other?

There is no question that this is spiritual crap from the darkest of dark angels, Satan!

Is that the “truth” and “light” you are serving, Christian women and Oprah fans?

If so, remember that Jesus said, “Not all who say to me ‘Lord, Lord” shall enter the kingdom of heaven.

The millions who tuned in for Oprah’s “enlightening” insights are only basking in the glow of the flames of hell! And it proves that, in the end, the way will need to be very wide that leads to destruction, since she will be the Pied Piper of Pabulum leading the Pack of Pigs over the cliff!

    You have been forewarned!

    Ezekiel 33

  16. Dear pjmiller,

“Nothing that they can ever offer you will bring you peace…” were your words

For what it matters, that’s not so.

Do you understand what having disciples implies? (Students)

Being a student implies more than believing about the teacher. Children can’t expect to pass a school test via belief in their tutor. Lessons are a bit more complicated than beliefs.

Christians are hardly aware there was ever a curriculum. Beliefs replaced it… but Jesus had students. (Fewer than Eckhart… may I point out.)

    Jesus said;

13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. John 16

Those that are born again by/through the blood of Jesus Christ, have the ‘teacher’ of all truth living within them.
