Strange Doctrines and Encounters

I found this interesting for two reasons. Though it covers issues already discussed in other posts–the angels etc, it also includes a small testimony from someone who had a frightening experience after connecting with this impartation. Also, the creator of this clip brought out something related to gold dust I hadn’t considered:

And he took the (golden) calf they had made and burned it in the fire; then he ground it to powder, scattered it on the water and made the Israelites drink it. Exodus 32

If the delusion has become that strong with these people, what will they be physically drinking (Exodus 32:1-20) as a result of this idolatry, false teaching and false prophesying?

My heart just broke seeing all of those people who seem to think this is all of God and it isn’t.

    We need to pray people!!!!

Members of my family have been following this movement for the past 8 months…it has done nothing but divide us and bring strife. We are all Christ followers but I had reservations about the teaching they were accepting and started praying, searching the scriptures, and doing reasearch after my sister went thru “deliverence” and a week later was admitted to the psychiatric ward after weird manifestations and unable to sleep. It is frightening what I have found and encourage anyone who really wants to know what is behind the likes of Todd Bentley and those he associates with to read True To His Ways by R Davis a former charismatic involved in the Toronto Blessing.

Hi…your story of the division sounds like a lot of the ones im hearing about lately.

This is one very good reason we can know this is not of the Lord. (speaking of this outpouring)

I don’t have any friends or family personally caught up in this–but did have first hand experience with the same thing in a church my family and i attended some years ago. The church brought in all types of heresies and weird stuff–i saw it but my adult children and their families did not.

I can tell you what God had me do–perhaps it may help in some small way.

God showed me the more i spoke out against what was going on, the more my family dug their heels in…and yes, it started dividing us. So finally i became silent on the topic with them, and prayed prayed prayed!

It took months, but one Sunday morning during a ‘weird’ service, it was like every one of them had their eyes opened to what was going on; we left that day not to return.

Prayer is the only thing which will work my friend. For its only God through his Holy Spirit who can get through and open their eyes–or the eyes of anyone caught in deception.

I’ll be praying for you Lady Di….

Regarding the woman who had the “bad impartation” whose arm convulsed after touching the computer screen, and fell down convulsing, and commanded some perceived “false angel” to depart, and feathers falling in the room, and then “I was told by the Holy Spirit that this was an evil impartation…”

I’m sorry, but this is just more of the same hyper-emotional, uber-spiritual nonsense as she is complaining about in Todd.

While I’m happy that she’s not going to follow after Todd, that doesn’t mean the path she is on is any better.

I’d recommend that she renew her mind by the study of the scriptures until she comes to realize that there is no “special revelation” for anyone, and the the Holy Spirit is not telling her anything unles she is reading the scripture and He is opening her eyes to it’s meaning.

That’s the only Holy Spirit revelation that she can legitimately have.

    Sorry to be a party-pooper, but c’mon….

Just wanted to make one comment on one thing. In Zechariah 5:9 it clearly talks about 2 women with the wind in their wings and their wings look like stork wings. That clearly makes them not normal women.

  10. 2008 June 12

Why and how are people actually believing in this? Don’t we read our Bibles anymore?

In Zechariah 5:9 it clearly talks about 2 women with the wind in their wings and their wings look like stork wings. That clearly makes them not normal women.

Howard right, these are not two actual women…and neither can they be said to be Angels of God. I believe its used as a symbol as it speaks about the ‘woman’ (many believe the apostate last day church–others see this as Israel when she received judgment for denying the Messiah) being carried by these 2 other symbolic women.

9Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.

10Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?

11And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.

    Matthew Henry’s commentary states:

In this vision the prophet sees an ephah, something in the shape of a corn measure. This betokened the Jewish nation. They are filling the measure of their iniquity; and when it is full, they shall be delivered into the hands of those to whom God sold them for their sins. The woman sitting in the midst of the ephah represents the sinful church and nation of the Jews, in their latter and corrupt age. Guilt is upon the sinner as a weight of lead, to sink him to the lowest hell. This seems to mean the condemnation of the Jews, after they filled the measure of their iniquities by crucifying Christ and rejecting his gospel. Zechariah sees the ephah, with the woman thus pressed in it, carried away to some far country. This intimates that the Jews should be hurried out of their own land, and forced to dwell in far countries, as they had been in Babylon. There the ephah shall be firmly placed, and their sufferings shall continue far longer than in their late captivity. Blindness is happened unto Israel, and they are settled upon their own unbelief. Let sinners fear to treasure up wrath against the day of wrath; for the more they multiply crimes, the faster the measure fills.

    Also from Jamieson, Fausset, Brown Commentary;

The agents to carry away the “woman,” are, consistently with the image, “women.” God makes the wicked themselves the agents of punishing and removing wickedness. “Two” are employed, as one is not enough to carry such a load [MAURER]. Or, the Assyrians and Babylonians, who carried away idolatry in the persons, respectively, of Israel and Judah [HENDERSON]. As two “anointed ones” (Zec 4:14) stand by the Lord as His ministers, so two winged women execute His purpose here in removing the embodiment of “wickedness”: answering to the “mystery of iniquity” (the Septuagint here in Zechariah uses the same words as Paul and “the man of sin,” whom the Lord shall destroy with the spirit of His mouth and the brightness of His coming, 2Th 2:3,7,8). Their “wings” express velocity. The “stork” has long and wide wings, for which reason it is specified; also it is a migratory bird. The “wind” helps the rapid motion of the wings. The being “lifted up between heaven and earth” implies open execution of the judgment before the eyes of all. As the “woman” here is removed to Babylon as her own dwelling, so the woman in the Apocalypse of St. John is Babylon (Re 17:3-5).

It’s true angels are not spoken of as feminine. But they are not spoken of as masculine either. Nevertheless archangels do have masculine names. This video kept my attention for the 10 minutes, and much effort was put into it. But could you not have checked out spelling before committing these words to video? So little effort, yet huge impact when I see “decieve” and “recieve” right there on the screen. It makes me wonder at the carefulness you practice in your life. This is one of those “little things” which indicate our ability to handle the “big things”.

I’m not sure who you are referring to Charlotte. No one on this blog put this video clip together…????

If you do a search at youtube you should be able to locate it and the person who created it…

You say it only held your attention for 10 minutes; well, its only 10 minutes 58 seconds long–so you didn’t miss much: you got the gist of the message.

So little effort, yet huge impact when I see “decieve” and “recieve” right there on the screen. It makes me wonder at the carefulness you practice in your life.

aha! I’m sorry but that did make me laugh..I guess its because i never noticed the creator of the clip had done this–i was too intent on the message to take the time to spot any spelling errors.

    God bless..

also, to add, william branham was in the healing revivals, he was used by God in great miracles in the beginning of his ministry, he traveled with many known evangelist that we know today, and yet it was at his end of his ministry that he let the power of God through him get to him, and became prideful, and his congregation claimed he was elijah, and yet this was false, so know the truth before claiming things please,

Christian, William Branham died in 1965. At least as early as 1950 he was teaching against the Trinity, a fundamental Christian doctrine settled since the 4th century, as you can see for yourself from his sermons publicly available via the Internet. I don’t think that this departure from orthodoxy could be fairly said to have occurred at, or near, the end of Branham’s ministry. As you wrote, “please know the truth before claiming things, please.”

Why would Todd Bentley find it appropriate to repeatedly offer unqualified approval of a man who ministered heresy to the church of God?

Why would Todd Bentley find it appropriate to repeatedly offer unqualified approval of a man who ministered heresy to the church of God?

In my opinion, its simply because Todd and those who mentored him are not interested in biblical doctrine but in supernatural experiences. If you think about it, its the only explanation which makes sense…

If you read all the comments left under the numerous topic’s i’ve posted on this outpouring, left by those who 100% defend Todd and those he is associated with (King, Jones, etc) you can see that scripture posted by others or myself, which plainly refutes or casts serious doubt upon the teachings of Todd, etc didn’t matter one iota…zilch, nadda!

See what i mean? Just because God says in his word….(this or that) they don’t care; what they base their opinions on are what they ’see’ or perceive–or how they feel’…the supernatural and their natural sight is their plumb-line, not the word of God.

Todd was mentored by men and women who have followed this false reasoning their entire lifetime and have instilled it in Him, as ‘truth’…

William Branham is likened to a ’spiritual god-father’ to this breed of ‘prophets’ today. They follow his prophecies like other’s follow the word of God.

I can offer up something. my church had Randy Clark last year. And by the way he endorses Todd Bentley. Anyway he did his school of healing and impartation. Which alot of us at church were questing the method Randy Clark uses. He brought his bag of tricks. dream cards prayer cards for the right price $10-15 dollars. He stayed a whole week and the whole time I felt led to fast and pray with others of us who were questioning. I had doubts but I went to church that sunday he was preaching and most of what he said was bragging on himself and what God told him to do. He than said I guess I better read the bible or some people might get upset!!!! My husband and I were angry and yes very offended. he than did this prayer of realsing some healing impartation and most of my church ran up there for this “impartation” immedatly my husband felt something hit him in the shoulder and later that day i was plagued with panic attacks and bad dreams. I was left in a state of confusion and unbeleif. I had a pastor minister to me for MONTHS after that to be deleveried from these decving spirits!!! I was baffled because I am one to check everything in light of scripture. We all can be decevied if you even have the slighteset doubt don’t do it!! God could be warning us. Todd Bentley could be here because God could be testing us to see if we will follow his commandments. LORD HAVE MERCEY ON US!!!!

I just want to comment what I read here as one who was at Lakeland for a week to attend the services. I’m German (so forgive my english) and it took me three airplanes and 22 hours to get there. It drew me to that place, because my wife was healed “touching the TV screen” (without shaking and feathers and golddust by the way) and I was so dry in my christian faith and fed up with so many hours of trying to convince people of the gospel (sometimes of the simple fact that there is a God at all) with only words. Faith seemed to me to consist of words, words, words.
So I went there to receive “impartatation”. What happened to me? I cried tears of repentance for hidden sins in my life. And received forgiveness and really could change my ways. I cried tears for my non believing neighbors. Just by sitting in the meetings.
When I came home I was able to speek to some people I prayed and cried for. And I could even pray with one of them…
Whatever you find or really is wrong with Todd Bentley, I didn’t regret that I was there. And I recommend it.
By the way I am a Pastor of a pretty conservative church in Germany and I know my bible.

Ulrich, thank you so much for your post, as one who has actually been there and experienced the fruit of genuine revival.

I have been greatly blessed by the ministry of people such as Todd Bentley and Patricia King. I have read books by them and I can confidently say that above all else in their teachings they use Scvriptures very very frequently. Not only this but time and time again they point to Jesus and glorify Him. I thought I should mention this to help restore some balance to this “thread”.

    Dear Ps. Roock,
I praise God that He through His Holy Spirit convicted you of your sin which led you to repentance. You say that Faith seemed to consist of words, words, words, it is only the true Word of God that will bring a sinner to repentance, not the words of man.
    Romans 10:17(KJV)
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Dear Sir may I suggest you visit http://www.wayofthemaster.com and study the way that Jesus witnessed to people and led them into the Kingdom Of God. Please don’t give up on preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ I know it can be discouraging at times especially in todays world.
    2 Timothy 1:12-14 (KJV)
“12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
13Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
14That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.”

May I encourage you Pastor with this Word:

“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4 (NKJV)

Elijah, there is a huge difference in using scripture and applying it correctly. Patrica King is one of the worst abusers of scripture i have ever come across. That is when she uses it at all…

    Her application or interpretation of Isaiah 40:31 is beyond error its outlandish;

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

She teaches that the interpretation of this is that we (Christians) have ‘invisible’ wings, like Angels, which we have yet to discover. That we can use these wings to fly all over the world.

That is nonsense! And its only one of many of her nonsensical teachings..

As far as Todd Bentley, he believes [and teaches] the same type of extra biblical craziness–why? because Patrica King helped to mentor him. He calls her his ’spiritual mother’

Listen, these folks may be nice people, but they are in deception. Their spiritual fruit, if based on their teachings which boarder on out right heresy, is poisonous.

I am the producer of this video and I thank you for posting it. I have read thru the comments but there is one comment that really bothers me.
Charlotte Kastelic, I see you noticed that I spelled “receive” and “deceive” wrong, but do you really believe it reflects on “carelessness in life?” If that’s not an unrighteous judgment! With all the seriousness of deception going on with Todd Bentley and his “revival” you have to take note of my misspellings of 2 words? Do you think God is upset with me because of that? Is that misspelling a sin?

In the lowest of my life I was a gang member and a call girl, and God sent His Son Jesus Christ to save me in my sin because He loved me. I did this video out of love my for my Savior first and foremost, and love for His children secondly. And for you to say that me misspelling to words indicates my ability to handle “big things” is a gross misjudgment of my character, especially because you don’t know me in the slightest.

To the owner of this site: again, thank you for posting my video, I pray it reaches those who need to see it.

    Hi brethren,

Ever since the Lord graciously opened my eyes to the deception going on in Lakeland, and elsewhere, I have had an incredibly heavy burdon … like I had to prove it was false to everyone I knew who was into it. The only problem was, they have already made it abundantly clear to me how deep they are into it. I was struggling with how to present my arguments, but had no liberty to say anything. None whatsoever. It was as if God would not let me open my mouth.

Then today, the Lord reminded me that it was because of a dear sister who prayed for me that I started seeing, and that we who see the truth need to pray for those who don’t yet see. I think that is the ONLY way they’ll be released from the deception.

I am a very logical and rational person, and have been working through how to conclusively “prove” to friends how Lakeland, et al is deception. I can prove it at least a dozen different ways, but no logic in the world will help a blind person to open their eyes. Only the Lord can do that.

I think the place is on our knees and faces before Jesus, crying out in faith for the souls of our lost friends, family, and others. I know God can deliver them … because He did it for me.

Even within those who still cannot see the truth, those seeds can be watered/nurtured by the Holy Spirit to eventually open a deceived person’s eyes.
