UGH!!! What John Crowder did, ‘tokin the Holy Ghost,’ I would almost consider that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit!!
Neither of these men show any reverence for the holiness of God whatsoever. It’s too bad they feel no shame for what they are doing.
I have family who are involved in this New Apostalic Movement. I have been sending things by email -some things from this blog and others to try to help them understand that this movement is not of the Lord. Now they have ceased all contact with me. They are truly saved people who really do love the Lord. I am sure they feel I am just being negative , judgemental, and legalistic. I guess I should be praying more rather than sending them things. Only God can open their hearts to the error. I feel bad that it has effected our relationship. I would want someone to warn me! Perhaps, in time, they will begin to see the truth as this movement it leading somewhere and it is not somewhere they will want to go.
Kurt, i don’t know if he’s Todd’s replacement–they seem to have a list of these new breed guys [and young women] right now which they are promoting.
We may see one rise to the surface though, as time passes, to be the next super star.
Yes i agree with you–i think it is blasphemy. Its something you might expect an ignorant unbeliever to say but not one who claims to be saved and know Jesus.
I think its sick…but this type of no reverence or fear of the Lord, comes from many inside this twisted camp.

I honestly believe prayer is the answer. If you’ve sent them articles which point out the falseness and dangers of this movement, then they have gotten the information–now its time to pray and ask God to open their eyes and spirits to receive it.
The condition of spiritual deception can be equated to the same condition of one lost: in that i mean, just like with a lost person, there comes a point after you’ve presented the gospel to them, that you have to step back and pray the seeds you planted will take root, and if we don’t, we can do more harm then good by causing them to shut down and off to anything else we say. Its the same with one in deception.
You’re probably right–they do. But you did the right thing in warning them, even though they may look upon you now as an enemy.
Take heart Rose! And pray pray pray! I’ve read testimonies from those who said their eyes were ‘suddenly opened’ to this type of deception…so know your family can have their eyes opened by God also. Prayer is the key.

All he describes is spiritual rape. The basic problem with all these expieriences, is that it is totally UNVOLUNTARY.

I just read this article and though Rose posted her concern back in August, I would like to say that I am one of those whose eyes and heart were suddenly opened, by the grace of God just this last July! I was sincerely seeking the Lord, have been saved 32 years but had gotten into the apostolic/prophetic deception pretty deep. Not as much as some, but was just on the verge of getting into “heavenly travel”(aka. astral projection with a ‘christianized’ name) when God snapped me out of it. Oh how embarrassing to think of all of the foolish, idiotic stuff I participated in. But God is merciful and I am so thankful He opened my eyes and helped me to repent. Now I am patiently waiting for my backslidden children to have their eyes opened, along with repentance and salvation, and their faith in Jesus restored.
Just listened to video. I’ve heard all of this before. It’s total Bull! “Don’t have a fear of people; they will misjudge.” Brainwashing like people do in cults(oh wait this IS a cult!) Tell people they are “stepping out of the boat” be “willing to look foolish”(boy will you!) They are trying to say:No body will understand you, but you are more special than everyone else and God is leading you and not them. What Bunk!
“Be balanced by being extreme.” “Extreme signs and wonders”….this is garbage. The only signs these people have is the rolling around “drunken” stupifying behavior that is NEVER ever, ever, considered a sign or wonder in the Bible.
The glory this and the glory that. All OT stuff taken out of context. Lord have mercy!
