Rick Joyner’s Angry Response to Lee Grady’s Column, Plus..

HT to Onward, Forward, Toward: Christian Celebrity Repentance, Episode 1

This is getting uglier by the day folks.

Lee Grady responded to Rick Joyner’s Bentley bulletin a couple days ago, (Lee Grady speaks out on the Todd Bentley “Bulletin”) and it now appears it ruffled Mr. Joyner’s feathers to the point he has responded at Charisma. Sounds like He’s threatening Lee Grady to me. My prayer is that Lee holds to his stand and refuses to allow Joyner’s rebuke (and threat) to move him off of the truth in this matter. Sadly in the past Lee has been known to flip-flop.

Rick Joyner’s Response to Lee Grady’s Column, “The Tragic Scandal of Greasy Grace”

Lee, I think what you call “the Lakeland disaster” would be disputed by multitudes of people who got healed or touched there. If you are such judge of this what gives you the credentials? What moves of God have you led? What have you built? Paul the apostle claimed to have authority for building and for tearing down, but what gives you authority to tear down the work of others is having built something yourself.

I, Todd, Bill and Jack all know this is a very serious matter, and are treating it as such. I am deeply offended that you would call our work “a travesty.” The Lord had far more grace for sinners than for the self-righteous, who He had no grace for at all.

I am personally far more concerned for you than for Todd.

Lee, I love some of the things you write, but I also feel that some are straight from the mouth of the accuser. I do think you have done at least as much damage to the church as Todd’s fall has by your unrighteous and unfair judgments. I don’t think you have earned the credentials for it, and you’re putting yourself in far more jeopardy by trying to be such a self-appointed judge.

I’m quite sure you will misunderstand what I’m saying, and I’m definitely not implying that we want to cover anything up, or promote cheap grace. We have just started the process and its being judged negatively. Give us some time, and some grace. Grace is, by the way, something we are supposed to be giving to each other.

If you care to follow this, Todd and I will be doing Video Special Bulleting each week that will be posted on our website, U-Tube, and carried by many others. These will be short, like the first, only about 10 minutes, but we want to cover the mistakes Todd has made, and as much as we can in the time we have, how he fell into some of the traps he did, strictly for helping others to not have to go through what Todd has. He will no doubt be doing a lot of public apologizing during this time because the public deserves these apologies.

I think you owe Todd, myself, Bill, and Jack apologies for your presumptuous judgments. I think they should be as public as this letter was. If not, I feel that I will have to address this publicly, and I don’t think that is in your best interest.

I also think you need to come down and spend some time with Todd and me. If you have problems with someone we have Matt.18 as a guide to how we should deal with them. Read the first part of that chapter. This was given to help protect people from becoming stumbling blocks, which the Lord made quite clear was something we do not want to be. If you think being a journalist exempts you from complying with Scripture, I would like to know what philosophy you have bought into that trumps Scripture.

Sorry if this comes across as harsh. I don’t mean for it too but I am quite busy and just don’t have the time that I would like to maybe be a bit more tactful.

My flesh wants to respond with a ‘Shuddup!!’ to Joyner. (But I won’t)

What I would like to ask Joyner is: what did you expect, accolades for making this come back of Todd’s an on-going public spectacle by weekly-installments on your website and youtube? Egads! Get real!! Sounds to me like Joyner’s pulling a ‘don’t touch God’s anointed’ trick out of his hat.

Enough!…Joyner’s public ‘letter’ makes me ill. I need to be silent.

  • Onward, Forward, Toward also posted a comment which was left under Lee’s post on Greasy Grace, which I believe is important to read. There were many people hurt by Todd’s actions–and these people have not been given enough consideration, and that includes by me. For that I truly repent:

quote..

Not only did Todd divorce Shonnah and the children, he divorced Fresh Fire Ministry, the leadership, the associates and interns, the church base, and all his employees. There are many wounded here in Abbotsford and Canada.

Todd was given counseling for his marriage and apparently God told him to take a sabbatical. He was given a specific length of time by God which he ignored. During that time he went to Africa and ended up in the hospital. Our leadership tried hard to work with Todd and we all prayed and wept for the restoration of his marriage.

Our church is the laughingstock of our community thanks to Todd.

FFM supporters are not speaking to friends and neighbors who belong to other denominations who wonder what happened. All of this has caused great division and harm to our community. No one is here helping us get over this.

As a regular at my church, I am grieved at these premature announcements of Todd’s return to ministry. It is timed exactly when we are putting on our first conference and Shonnah is going on the first missions trip to Uganda under Transform International.

Todd called himself a ‘businessman’ at a church meeting in September 2007. I wonder if this timing is a shrewd business move to make sure he loses as few supporters as possible to TI while retaining their $$$ at FFM USA.

There has been no concern shown for the 64 orphans and the ministry in Uganda either that remained with Transform International.

Many employees lost their jobs or left in indignation. Some still have not found employment and are struggling. Where is the financial support for them? Where is the love for all the broken, hurting people left at home?

It is easy to apologize over the impersonal internet. I invite Todd to come back home and apologize in person to all the people he has wounded. Then he should carry on to Sechelt and apologize to that community as well.

Your support for Shonnah and the children, both locally and globally at the Uganda Jesus Village, can be addressed to Transform Central formerly known as Global Harvest Centre in Abbotsford, BC. (posted by more x-family)

  • I also want to repost something here which I had placed under the Morningstar (video) thread this afternoon. This was posted at phoenix preacher blog by pastor Alan Hawkins.

In all honesty, given the nature of this whole matter, Todd Bentley should be out of ministry for the foreseeable future. He should find a job and work. He should be quiet. He should listen and learn from more mature voices around him. Why do I say this?

First, the simple nature of the offense. He has violated every sacred thing that a minister is sworn to uphold. When a minister takes ordination he takes the mantle of fidelity, trustworthiness and honesty. He has not shown that he can be trusted.

Second, the reality is that he had a prior brush up with something similar. Whatever it was it should now become public. If it was the same kind of offense then there is a deeper problem. We should never refer to moral failures as a ‘dark night of the soul.’  That title belongs to holier things.

Third, compounding of the adultery with the deceit of using the reputations of others to validate himself is egregious. The men and women on that platform in June have surely forgiven Todd and most have stated as much but the loss to their own credibility is great. Todd has reduced the credibility of the entire movement. The hastily performed endorsement is laden with its own problems but Todd allowed it to go on not fearing the Lord or respecting His name or the names of his advocates.

Fourth, this whole scenario is ignoring the voluminous problems with Todd’s ministry style. Many of his practices are questionable at best and as a pastor they are abominable. Shouting “Bam” as you ‘handle’ people is the least of many shameful behaviors that I and others would not allow in our churches. Throwing people to the floor does not manifest glory or anointing. I would have told him on DAY 1 in my church to stop it.

Then there was the matter of referring to the blessing of God as “getting some.” That phrase is well known by a whole generation as a sexual euphemism. It objectifies people and reduces them to a commodity to be possessed. Again, I would have rebuked the man in private and told him that we are not here to “get some.” We are here to touch the hem of His garment.

Fifth, Todd has been a man who has controlled his image by his voluminous words. He stood with bravado and made hundreds of claims, of pronouncements, of challenges that have fallen to the ground. He promised that the revival would be the most carefully recorded event of its kind in history and that the acts of God would be provable to all. He taunted the press and challenged them to come and see what God was doing. The promise of evidence was not forthcoming. The claims of worldwide revival fell fruitlessly away. Just take his claims on the night of the commissioning itself and objectively analyze them and you will see they came to empty words.

Sixth, and this is a very big issue. The matter of Todd’s truthfulness is very much in doubt. This pertains to not only his lifestyle and hidden relationship but to his pulpit stories and proclamations. This goes to the truthfulness of his heavenly visions, angelic encounters, heavenly visits with saints, and encounters with Jesus himself. What would a series of interviews with the former staff of Fresh Fire reveal? I suspect that it would reveal a habit of shading the truth that was obvious to dozens of people. I would go so far as to say that the famous video where Todd claims to have done a series of violent acts ‘under the anointing,’ cannot be verified. Todd’s actions have put the truth on trial. No restoration without this area being explored. The few videos of such acts are more like wrestling tricks than violent exchanges but to risk hurting people in this fashion is horrific.

Seventh, and I will stop at this for now. The cavalier treatment of divorce and remarriage in this matter weakens marriages and mocks the oaths given to God. Yes, half the church is divorced. I myself grew up in a broken family. We all know and love people who are divorced but the public handling of this pushes the limits of tolerance to unbelievable lows. Todd was publicly anointed with Shonnah for world revival. Then he disappears from public view and reappears with a new wife Jessa (I regret my former misspelling of her name) and all the talk is immediately about getting him back to ministry as soon as possible.

Who performed this marriage? And why on earth would anyone thrust a man back into ministry when he himself allows that the demands of ministry helped to destroy his marriage to Shonnah? And then on the first public appearance he chides the viewers with a statement that he and Shonnah have moved on and so should we. How were we suppose to move on?

The revelation of his divorce and remarriage came on Sunday and on Monday the news that he was triumphantly being restored.

The last thing that I want to mention and I intend to push back against this claim and challenge it on every occasion.  It has become a common matter for defenders of Todd to preemptively chide all critics as self-righteous and judgmental. We have phrases coined that are used to tell anyone who dares to challenge “apostolic authority” that we are possessed of some spirit of one thing or another.

This claim is deadly and it is a poison that misses the mark.

First, it presumes that if you call someone self-righteous that you yourself are freed from the same. That should on its face be obviously in error.

Second, it undermines all Biblical moral rebuke within the testimony of scripture itself. This claim makes it impossible to confront evil or to bring into question any behavior. It makes moral instruction meaningless.. (more here)

God does not take lightly having His name profaned and his character misrepresented by those who claim to be his people. And that is what Todd Bentley, and now Rick Joyner are doing…profaning God’s name and his Holy Character before the world.

Even David, after sinning before God against Uriah was told by the prophet:

“However, because by this deed you have given occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also born to you shall surely die.” 2 Sam 12:14

All of us who bear the name of Christ before men have a solemn responsibility to live in such a fashion that we do not discredit or shame the Lord Jesus either in word or in deed. Beloved, one thing is certain. The Most High God will not leave him unpunished who profanes His holy name! If He does not vindicate His name upon them in this life, He will certainly do so in the next! No one can sin with impunity by taking His glorious name in vain by “professing to know God, by their deeds they deny Him” (Christians, A Letter of Christ)

“When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned My holy name, because it was said of them, ‘These are the people of the Lord..” Ezek 36

  1. As this issue heats up let us pray that we can address one another through all the anger and disagreement. My intention was to further the conversation not to indict and reject my own movement.

Rick Joyner’s angry response was at least a response. I hope he will continue to respond and we can all move from anger to engagement to resolution.

    • Amen Alan..

      May i be frank?

You are right in the suggestion that Todd needs to be out of any type of ministry.

Many many years ago i fell hard. Prior to this i had been working in ministry with young adults for a considerable amount of time–years.

I praise the Lord for his grace, love, and mercy, for he forgave me. But Alan, it took a long long season before i was completely restored..and i don’t mean restored to ministry, but restored as a person.

There is a process we that have fallen must submit ourselves to. One which is between ourselves and God alone. For me, it took soul searching, asking God to show me how it could have happened (my own weaknesses). And that itself was important! For i knew if i did not come to see and understand how, the possibility of it occurring again was there.

This was no easy thing…no little 3-4 step program.

It was with deep deep repentance and Godly sorrow that i had to face my fall, and to understand the damage it did to the cause and name of Christ, and the damage caused to family and friends around me: including the many young adults who had come and went, in my classes for years.

I won’t go on…except to say this. Its not there in Todd.

Todd, in my most humble opinion, has not even began to face up to anything–and won’t, as long as he is being pushed into the public eye by those like Joyner, for the sole purpose of getting him ‘restored’ back into ministry and back up in front of the crowds.

I also agree–Todd needs to go off and live his life. Out of the spotlight. I believe its the God way, to handle this. For by leaving, and stopping this nonsense of going through some public ‘repentance’ just for the purpose of returning to the same-o same-o he was doing in Lakeland, the Church can move on and those affected by Todd and Lakeland, can heal.

He should remove himself from the possibility of any ministry and concentrate on working out his own salvation with fear and trembling…

But sadly, i don’t see that happening.

  2. Awaken the Dragon….Joyner’s Monarchical wrath is more like a “PAPAL BULL”…[the Catholic Fatwa of the inquisition, and absolute lawful condemnation that only the vicar of Christ may issue....{I gag with the absurdity...] ] ], than a response to heresy from a protestant leader. Bentley needs to be exorcised…delivered from a multitude of unclean and lying spirits, and repent on a grand scale…beginning with a personal denunciation of his demonic “ministry”, and then a return to his family and marriage…[ which would include the renunciation of his current fornicating partner..}

Bentley's Lakeland was EVIL, and filled with fairies, imps, and lies, lies, lies. What about the LIES? 32 RESURRECTIONS from the dead....uhh..that would be zero in reality...the multitudes of healings....well, as he stuttered to prove just ONE to Geraldo and NIGHTLINE, well, Todd could prove..uh, yes...ZERO again. LIES!

Then the many claims of revelation with things like long talks with Abraham, and Paul the Apostle, and Jesus...right along side of Emma, and her bags of gold..and the exaltation of Earth angels,,,,[ which performed quick surgery at McDonald's, spilling your intestines and bowels, in a bloody mass on the floor, right in front of the kid's and BIG MAC...]..This was cleansing “surgery” to Todd, and the “deeper life” of his ministry; in which he boasted….”ANGELS, ANGELS, ANGELS!!! HE CRIED.Come! This was intercession in Bentley’s book.

Pounding black heavy metal music, lights off with strobe lights shimmering on the writhing mass as they swayed and swooned, with Todd’s Tattoos up to the neck a swirling….Oh…the worship..

No gospel message, no repentance…[ How could he, as he was fornicating and drunk ,,] no true Honor of the Lamb of God, No Peace, NO HOLINESS!….NO HOLY SPIRIT!

This smacks of me as the STRAW MAN…by both Grady and FF Canada. They focus on an indiscretion..[ADULTRY]..IN ORDER TO MAKE THE ISSUE ONE OF REPENTENCE AND RESTORATION, rather than the truth…Bentley is a Heretic, and possessed, and a practitioner of witchcraft, and unclean devils use him, and work through him. Lakeland was no revival, except possibly a revival of the black religious arts, masquerading as Pentecostal power.

I do not trust Grady, and would not be surprised if Joyner and Charisma didn’t plan this farce, in order to “make up later”, in order to justify and save their own Demonic platforms. Has either one, or any of the NAR crowd, stood up and called Lakeland what all know it to be? [WHO LOVE OUR LORD JESUS..]. Lakeland was a great deception from Hell, a lie, and a ministry of devils. DEMONIC!…and did great harm, and was defeated by the Lord and His Saints through much prayer and battle. Grady published endorsements!
Joyner was right there, coronating Todd as the Leader of the end times movement and restoration…along with the NAR potentates, a grinning away, as Todd kneeled in Knight fashion to receive their endorsement and crown. None of them warned of demons, or Satanic doctrine, or manifestations the Bible rejected as evil….They did the opposite, and pointed to Todd Bentey as the Elijah who was to come!

Nor do they do so today! They have aligned themselves with Evil, to reap the rewards of their religious Empire. They must now justify Bentley, as a poor sinner, who needs grace and mercy, and how could we be so cruel not to forgive him, and restore him?

Bentley has proved himself to be much more of a Witch, and false prophet, than a Christian of any kind. Jesus said you shall know them by their FRUITS!…and Bentley’s was 100% bad..even putrid, and the Lord, in his infinite power, used Todd to “BUNDLE” the TARES right along with him…those who endorsed him, and support him in his SIN, and his ugly demonic ministry! I am thankful their have been so many that have posted videos…hundreds and hundreds..that make it indisputable that Joyner, Bentley, and yes, Charisma and Grady, and FF, who have been complicit…. for GAIN’s sake….moneymaking, and power grubbing……

IN ORDER TO ENSLAVE AND DOMINATE THE BODY OF CHRIST!

They are unrepentant heretics, and my advice is to adamantly reject them all as such…for your very soul may be at risk if you do not.

My love to you in Jesus..Tom

  3. [QUOTE]Lee, I think what you call “the Lakeland disaster” would be disputed by multitudes of people who got healed or touched there. [/QUOTE]

This sentence should read, “..by multitudes of people who got healed, touched, or fondled there.” Considering he married one of the “ministry” workers, and was with her before the divorce.

  4. Interesting how Mr. Joyner manages to pull Paul out of the hat.

    Acts 9:30-31:
Which when the brethren knew, they brought him [Paul] down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

So when Paul was gone, the church had rest and grew, and it took him several years before he was ready to appear in the spotlight. And no “Restoration in a year or less, or your money back” guarantee anywhere.

  5. I hope this Lee Grady person stands up to this religious bully. I recall reading the same type of response from several “prophets” I dealt with online. Still waiting on the plague to spread from the Olympics thing, or the constant “coming events” that keep on coming but never eventing.

One girl I loved very much, who I was in love with, actually, said to me “You are bringing judgement on yourself”, because of my opposition to false prophecy. Her words still haunt me everyday.

    • There are sadly a lot of people like your friend..they have either forgotten or were never taught we are to test all prophecy [and prophets] by the word of God, and they’ll condemn others who try to be good Bereans by doing this.

Rick Joyner really showed his true colors in that letter. It will be interesting to see where this whole debacle leads.

  6. And I’m still computerless PJ! I’m so bored at home! Please pray I can find an affordable PC!! And soon! I need it for school too! I have like 3 papers due after spring break!!! Please pray. They’re all so expensive… And you can email me, you know, if you know my actual address. I can’t respond allo the time, but I can read them you know on my phone. Ahem* for no reason, just in case you wanted to email me for anything. I get lonely!!

    • I’m still praying Ricardo!

Have you had your computer looked at yet–is it fixable?

Hey! so u can receive phone mail… I’ll try sending you a note…

  7. It never ceases to amaze me that any Christian would listen to any of these self styled “prophets” and “apostles”. The only power these apostates have is given to them by religious people who do not have enough knowledge of doctrine and the gospel and who want their ears tickled. Everything spiritual is not from God. Satan is certainly at work and may of these “superior” types are obviously doing his work. Real Christians MUST have discernment. Jesus clearly told us that there would be many false teachers and false Christs. These arrogant fellows also should not use the “touch not God’s anointed” rhetoric, as they are not kings, priests, prophets of the Israelite nation. Roman Catholics have their pope—Christians not of the Roman persuasion do not need these false popes. Christ is our Lord. He is our salvation. We need humble pastors and elders and teachers, not superior apostates.

    • The only power these apostates have is given to them by religious people…

wout, you’re right. I only wish all their followers understood this too. All these foolish people do is proclaim titles, like prophet and apostle, on each other. Heck, if you or i were part of their inner circle, we’d probably already be known as ‘prophet’ pj, and ‘apostle’ wout. LOL

  8. Joyner is an advertiser at Charisma/Strang.
If Strang Communications doesn’t offer him free space he can pay for it.

Strang promoted Bentley long before people decided to have the vapours because Rick Joyner is verbally abusive.
    What short memories we have.

Grady is the editor of Charisma and has full control over content. Joyner writes where Grady edits. Grady is oblivious? Wronged? Really?

    Go get him Grady?
What a gullible high needs consumer group.

  9. [...] article this past week – which I thought was pretty good. When you are done reading it, go here for some commentary (here as well). Never thought I would be defending J. Lee Grady, but he was right about [...]

  10. I would like to address one of the last things written in this article. Certainly we all need to make assessments with people, movements and so forth… we are to “Know” them by their fruit and we are to be in a place of recognizing sin and helping our brothers that are in trouble… all things Jesus talked about. However when this author says it undermines all Biblical moral rebuke within the testimony of scripture itself. That the claim that we cannot judge Todd and those restoring Todd makes it impossible to confront evil or to bring into question any behavior is NOT true. We need to make assessments and come to conclusions based in the Word and in the heart of Christ by the Holy Spirit… this means we get the log of dust out of our own lives rather than try to move the speck of saw dust from our brothers eyes… Jesus said judge not lest you be judged… and by the measure you judge by that measure you too will be judged! People need to start letting Jesus be the judge and began to be peacemakers like Jesus speaks of in Matthew.
There are people who are twisting many things that Joyner and the team of those trying to restore a bad situation itno things not really being said or conveyed by them. They are twisting things, or at leaste their interpretation of the things being done and said are twisted, their eyes are not seeing clearly. Obviously the team has not communinicated well and that has contributed to that, but the devil is also around and people are projecting themselves and their denominational experience/backgrounds perspectives and pet doctrines on the the situation which is sin and that needs to be repented. Most of what this author had to say about the way Todd ministered from the pulpit was said in a way that I really respect. But sometimes you do go after healings aggressivly so you might use some force on another in a really weird way, that shouldn’t take place on sunday in the authors church but can in a venue like the Outpouring because the atmosphere allows for it. If the author was to do it in his church on sunday when unbelievers are there, it would be miss read and not at all understood; much like the author here.
    -Rev. Aaron

      I don’t think so Aaron…

As Joyner has decided to post video clips, which include himself, i don’t see how we can misinterpret or twist his words. They are ‘there’ for all to hear.

    • Todd Bentley exposed on Nightline

  11. I’m writing for the first time after finding this site in the midst of Lakeland. We left our small church in Pennsylvania after our pastor and others went to Florida to see Todd. I researched after the pastor brought this “anointing ” back to PA and to our congregation. “The Winds of Change” caused many to leave this church. Lakeland was a disaster on so many levels. Todd has left a trail of splintered congregations around this country. Recovery will take years. The best thing to come of this is that my discernment has never been clearer. In these times, that is not a small thing. Thanks, PJ for all your good work. God Bless.

    • Louise, im sorry to hear how your church was affected. I’ve read similar things from other Christians around the country, who watched their church and pastor go off the deep end, after someone from the congregation [usually the pastor] returned from Lakeland.

The only way healing is going to come to the church is for Todd to disappear from the public eye [and totally, from ministry]

    • This sounds just like the “transferable anointing” found
      during the “Toronto Blessings” debacle.

Surely some of us old timers remember that so called “outpouring”!
      The Similarities are quite eerie.
      Same Spirit?? I wonder??
Seems like many of the same people are/were involved, behind the
      scenes, in both !

They (NAR) Probably Will Find Someone Else to use as Front Man
if They Can Not Restore Todd. Todd was bankable
(brought in large amounts of donations) for them
and I think this group is hoping he will be again, no
matter how many lives are destroyed in the interim.
People just really do not seem to matter with this group.

How Many Were Destroyed in the aftermath of Toronto?
      How many more this time?
      How many more next time?

And so it goes on and on and on with the same trail
of destroyed faith/trust and devastated lives.

I think that the larger prayer issue should be for the
lives of the people who come in contact with these folks
and their restoration, Not Just Todd’s.

Just my take on all this.

  12. Letter sent out yesterday from Moriel ministry’s Jacob Prasch to Lee Grady. (also sent to danny Isom; Bill ALNOR; jackie alnor; Phillip Powell; Andrew Strom; Walid Shoebat; Scot Brisk; WALTER KAMBULOW; takeheed@aol.com; Sandy SIMPSON; mike oppenheimer)

Subject: Rick Joyner’s Response to You

    Dear Lee,

    Greetings in Jesus.

Our ministry MORIEL is not huge but it is fairly large with branches and missions in ten countries and over a dozen congregations plus the TV stuff etc. and I am advised that our website is one of the very largest in the Christian world in terms of both hits and unique visitors and our teaching ministry of DVD & CD recorded material is by any standard massive. We are not mega but by God’s grace sizeable, and there are others like us supportive of your position.

For us however it is not about numbers or money, but from the orphanages we operate in Africa for dying AIDS babies to our support of Jewish and Arab congregations in Israel and the evangelistic outreaches to Mormons in Utah – it is only about Jesus. The same would be true of Dave Hunt’s Berean Call, of Roger Oakland & Understand The Times, of John Mac Arthur, Philip Powell and various others. None of them is perfect, but all of them are scriptural.

There are indeed a number of churches and ministries around the planet representing a biblically based Evangelicism in an age of spiritual, moral, and doctrinal decline and apostasy. Yet it is the hype artists , con artists, and heretical false prophets that draw the most attention.

From fiasco to fiasco be it Toronto, Pensacola, Kansas City, or Lakeland it is always the same.

As a moderate Pentecostal/ Charismatic myself, I am disgusted at the discrediting of the church and its testimony by backslidden money preachers on TBN & the so called ‘God Channel’ (who have made ‘Born Again’ a household joke and a subject of ridicule in the eyes of the world we should be trying to reach), and the counterfeit revivals based on demonically influenced carnality, false doctrine, and false prophecy. Rick Joyner is by biblical definition a kingpin in this last days deception and treachery. He has once again demonstrated himself to be as unscrupulous as he is unbiblical. He and his ilk are among the very ones Jesus predictively warned would arise in the last days. Such men and women are instruments of seducing spirits.

I do not believe that you should lend any credence whatsever to Rick Joyner’s antics nor pay any heed at all to his diatribes. He is a demonstrable false prophet and a promulgator of false doctrines. You are guilty of nothing more than telling and writing the truth and his arrogant notion that you should be doing a ‘mea culpa’ and expressing some apologetic regret to a morally reprobate Todd Bentley and to the gang of false teachers & false prophets surrounding him is an assertion too ludicrous and absurd to warrant any serious consideration.

I appreciate that as an editor of a widely distributed publication you find yourself in a precarious position not wanting to alienate those you are desiring to influence. Perhaps like Andrew Strom and Walid Shoebat you feel you can make a better impact for biblical truth by not making a high profile stand against these debaucherous movements so you can better assist those caught up in them. The viability of this approach may be indeed debatable but presently it is not the point, because in this case you seem to have drawn a clear line.

As you are without doubt aware there are those among us who believe you should have done this in such a strong and unambiguous manner long ago, but in any event you do appear to have done so now and I and certain others would much urge you in The Lord not to retreat.

Do not allow the devil or his 2 Corinthians 11 style agents inside the church to dissuade you. If you continue to maintain your position standing on the solid ground of biblical truth & righteousness you will have friends, and more crucially you will certainly have Jesus.

Stand your ground with Joyner and let the chips fall where they may and above all do not let this be the last time you sound a clear and unmistakable alarm to your readers.

    Sincerely In Christ,

    Jacob Prasch

  13. “But sometimes you do go after healings aggressivly so you might use some force on another in a really weird way, that shouldn’t take place on sunday in the authors church but can in a venue like the Outpouring because the atmosphere allows for it. If the author was to do it in his church on sunday when unbelievers are there, it would be miss read and not at all understood; much like the author here.”

The Revival was on national TV and probably broadcast overseas as well so I am sure many many unbelievers were exposed to Todd’s “weird way” of healing. I wonder how many of those became more hardened in their hearts watching such a display of craziness. If they thought what they were witnessing was true Biblical Christianity, they were sadly mistaken. That revival probabaly did more harm to the cause of Christ than we know. Just my humble opinion…the whole thing personally sickened me. Did Jesus EVER kick someone in the stomach to heal them? (And, if I remember right, the man Todd kicked was not healed!)

    • If I recall correctly, there was NOT ONE verifiable healing.

Many claims, as usual, but not one that was credible or could
      be verified.

This always sounded a little shady to me.

  14. The have set Barabas free

  15. Thomas Watkins

Yes they will crucify him if we let them which is why we must be the ones to shout this time and not the pharisees.

    Money colours their judgement.

  16. Its the last supper guys at Jesus’s expense.

  17. …and the devil laughs as the christians rip each other to shreds…
I can almost hear him cackle :(

    • You think these guys are christians maybe?

      Warning: Wolves in Sheep Clothing!

      Matthew 7:16
You will know them by their fruits.
Do men gather grapes from thornbushes
      or figs from thistles?

      Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter
the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of
      My Father in heaven.”

      Matthew 24:11
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

      Ezekiel 3:17-18
      “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel;
therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:
When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’
and you give him no warning,

nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life,

      that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
but his blood I will require at your hand.”

      2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine,
but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears,
they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their
      ears away from the truth,
and be turned aside to fables.

  18. I don’t know what to say, except my heart and soul HURT. We are One Body. I Corinthians 12 talks about being many different members of ONE Body of Christ…And when one part of the body hurt, We ALL hurt. I am just a concerned woman. In my time, i have seen many Public Jesus Ministers fall — Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggert. etc.
I just want Christ to honoured. I am a woman who struggles with addictions as well. I am Far from perfect. We are the supposed to be the Light of the World… and the World looks to us. In the Name of Jesus, I pray that we will walk in humility, before our God, and that Jesus be glorified in my life.. and the Life of the Church at large.
as John Bradshaw in 1500s said, as he saw an man going his execution, “there but for the Grace of God, go I..”
