Kim Clement’s latest prophecy puzzle…

A few quotes from Kim Clement’s latest:

June 6, 2009 – Orlando, FL

The Spirit of the Lord says, there has been unnecessary warfare, unnecessary wars – I’m not talking about your natural war in Iraq.  God says there have been wars in the kingdom, in my church that have not been necessary.  Why is this?  They have taken my Joseph. They have taken the prophetic voice from amongst the brothers and sold it to the world.

God says Joseph is about to return. The prophetic voice is about to come back.  The prophetic sound is about to come back to the earth, to this nation.  This nation has been void of the prophetic voice and even though prophets have endeavored to speak there have been many that have walked away and said “will God ever return?”  And so they have pronounced things that I have not said.  They have said judgment, judgment, judgment, and God said judgment has already begun in the house of God.  It has already taken place.  There is no more unnecessary judgment.

(What I underscored is an amazing example of the false words coming from the majority of false prophets today. Clement, like many of these folks, cannot STAND the truth which is judgment is coming upon the world and this nation, in the future. He also attempts to tell us that God has completed His judgment in the house of God. I have a bulletin for him–No he hasn’t. We’re in the midst of a great falling away–the apostasy: but apparently these ‘prophets’ are unable to see it! Logic says they can’t see it because they are a part of it…

He also tells us that God says “no more UNNECESSARY judgment[s]“… Since when were any of God’s judgments unnecessary?)

moving on..

Your President shall join spiritual watchmen on the wall in a very, very unusual and spectacular experience that he shall have, not with Christ for he already has, but with the Holy Spirit, the “paracletos”, the one who stands along side.  I promised you.  I promised you says the Spirit of God, that when I place a man in that office, though there may be controversy about it, I will raise him up and make him look through spiritual eyes. Fear will not capture him. And even though policies may not be aligned with My Spirit, that matters not for I will do things that will cause an embarrassment amongst the Senate.  For God says there will be deaths, unusual deaths of political leaders..

(sigh…???)

This nation has been purified, it’s been purified.  This nation has been purified. The purification has taken place and is still to do so.

(Yep, its ‘purified all-right)

The industries that have fallen, God says, out of their ruins I will bring and structure something that will bring great pride to this nation again.  And people will say we are proud of our vehicles.  We are proud of our industries and we are proud of our innovative strength.  We are proud of the creativity that was once lost.  Why is this?  Is it because the government has stepped in to solve the problems?  Ha!  God says do not make me laugh!  This is a joke.

But what is not a joke, says the Spirit of the Lord, is that once you place a prophet on the soil and the territory the prophetic is invited back into the house of the Lord.

Shining the Spot-Light…”Silent Enablers”

I just happened to catch Fox’s Shephard Smith’s comments during the broadcast last week, and knew right away there would be fall-out (watch HERE).

Well I certainly called that, for no sooner did I pop over to one of the largest most popular Christian prophecy boards on the Internet that evening, did I read they were already rallying the troops;  a few had even began emailing Fox demanding that Smith be fired. Didn’t matter that what he said was the truth..for after all, who cares about truth anymore? Certainly many who claim Christ as Lord and Savior sure don’t seem to care. Especially if any truth goes contrary to their political ideologies.

Frank Rich at the NYTimes wrote an excellent column yesterday, concerning Shephard Smith’s comments: he writes about the Silent Enablers.

We’re not to be silent enablers..

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light;  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. …But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. – Ephesians 5

quote..

WHEN a Fox News anchor, reacting to his own network’s surging e-mail traffic, warns urgently on-camera of a rise in hate-filled, “amped up” Americans who are “taking the extra step and getting the gun out,” maybe we should listen. He has better sources in that underground than most.

What he reported was this: his e-mail from viewers had “become more and more frightening” in recent months, dating back to the election season. From Wednesday alone, he “could read a hundred” messages spewing “hate that’s not based in fact,” much of it about Barack Obama and some of it sharing the museum gunman’s canard that the president was not a naturally born citizen. These are Americans “out there in a scary place,” Smith said.

These are extraordinary words to hear on Fox.

More HERE

The spotlight tonight is on all of us who have sat by in silence, whether its been from fear of man or plain apathy, refusing to reprove the works of darkness coming from those who claim Jesus Christ publicly. You know, the ‘voices’ heard or read the most.

Let me also say, the silence has become deafening. For by staying silent, we are not only enablers, but are seen as accepting of, or being in agreement with, those today, who’s visible fruit is so rotten that the stink emanating from it (and them)  keeps many lost souls away from Christ and the good news of The Gospel message.

Let your light shine friends.…let your love for Jesus cause you to become bold against the darkness in his body today. It won’t be  judgmentalism if its motivated by your love for him and others. And love should always be our motivation…

Prayerfully ask the Master Gardner to till your ground, so that good fruit may be produced and “hang” from your branches in abundance! That excellent fruit will give off an aroma to a lost world which will draw them to you and ultimately to our Savior. Isn’t that why we’re still here?

“..the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts” - Gal.5: 22-24

Iran, riots and violence continue

If like me, you’ve been following the election eruptions in Iran today. Just wanted to post a link from the latest updates as of 2:52 am. Pray for the people in Iran please: and brothers and sisters, don’t forget the Church within its boarders…if you are a believer, you have ‘family’ there.

The link below is to a guy who is ‘live blogging’:

Iran Violence (VIDEO): Protests Erupt, Riot Police Launch Crackdown, by Nico Pitney

(left: A injured supporter of defeated Iranian presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi covers his face during riots in Tehran.)

2:26 AM ET — “U.S. rejects victory claim from Ahmadinejad.” The Associated Press offers a late-night lede:  The U.S. on Saturday refused to accept hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s claim of a landslide re-election victory in Iran and said it was looking into allegations of election fraud. [...]

2:33 AM ET — A plan to depose Supreme Leader Khamenei? Trita Parsi, one of the most insightful voices discussing the events in Iran on U.S. news networks, sends over his latest thoughts: Clearly, the anti-Ahmadinejad camp has been taken by surprise and is scrambling for a plan. Increasingly, given their failure to get Khamenei to intervene, their only option seems to be to directly challenge — or threaten to challenge — the supreme leader.

Here’s where the powerful chairman of the Assembly of Experts, Mousavi supporter Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, comes in. Only this assembly has the formal authority to call for Khamenei’s dismissal, and it is now widely assumed that Rafsanjani is quietly assessing whether he has the votes to do so or not.  It may be that the first steps toward challenging Khamenei have already been taken.

2:52 AM ET — The National Iranian American Council notes a message from an Iranian to the United States: “Help us.”

The Falling Away, The Temple of God & Prophecy

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” – I Cor. 3:16-17

The Old Time Gospel has a very good message up this week, “Ye Are The Temple!”. As always when reading anything about how the definition of God’s Temple changed so drastically under the new covenant, the connection to who we are, and how collectively we are That Temple today, still amazes me.  Randy, the administrator at TOTG quoted from the excellent Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown bible commentary:

Know ye not — It is no new thing I tell you, in calling you “God’s building”; ye know and ought to remember, ye are the noblest kind of building, “the temple of God.”

ye — all Christians form together one vast temple. The expression is not, “ye are temples,” but “ye are the temple” collectively, and “lively stones” (1Pe_2:5) individually.

God … Spirit — God’s indwelling, and that of the Holy Spirit, are one; therefore the Holy Spirit is God. No literal “temple” is recognized by the New Testament in the Christian Church. The only one is the spiritual temple, the whole body of believing worshippers in which the Holy Spirit dwells (1Co_6:19; Joh_4:23, Joh_4:24).

The synagogue, not the temple, was the model of the Christian house of worship. The temple was the house of sacrifice, rather than of prayer. Prayers in the temple were silent and individual (Luk_1:10; Luk_18:10-13), not joint and public, nor with reading of Scripture, as in the synagogue. The temple, as the name means (from a Greek root “to dwell”), was the earthly dwelling-place of God, where alone He put His name.

The synagogue (as the name means an assembly) was the place for assembling men. God now too has His earthly temple, not one of wood and stone, but the congregation of believers, the “living stones” of the “spiritual house.”

*The entire message can be found here, “Ye Are The Temple!”

You may have noticed I underscored one specific sentence above: “The temple, as the name means (from a Greek root “to dwell”), was the earthly dwelling-place of God, where alone He put His name”;

Its because I still question the application of the word Temple in 2 Thess: 2:4-

“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God”

Paul at the time of writing both Holy Spirit inspired letters, to the Church at Corinth and to the Church at Thessalonica, was very aware that God was no longer dwelling within the Temple in Jerusalem, (having departed the man- made structure) and was instead by his Spirit, then (as now) living in redeemed man:

“ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people” 2 Cor. 6:16b

“In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit” Eph. 2:21-22

He reiterated this truth over and over through out his letters to the Churches–the truth that, as the greek root implies, (to dwell)  we are the sole Temple in which God dwells.  amen?

So why do you believe Paul, when writing to the Church at Thessalonica is suddenly referring to some other kind of Temple in verse 4; especially in light of the prior verse (3) in which he writes of a falling away?

3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Wouldn’t this appear very contradictory of Paul and even confusing to the Church then, for him to spend so much time teaching and reaffirming (over and over) that believers are in fact the Temple, to suddenly turn around and be writing of another man-made Temple of God?

It’s also puzzling to think Paul is referring to some future man made Temple (remember, the one in Jerusalem was still standing at the time) in light of Hebrews 8 and 9.

Hebrews 9:8–14: (where after discussing the man-made tabernacle and its religious rituals, the author, who most believe to have been Paul, writes) -

“The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing. This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings—external regulations applying until the time of the new order. When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation. He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God”

just musing..

What Does Deception Look Like? Part (3)

See:  Part (1)Part (2)

We have set out to explore the characteristics of spiritual deception, focusing first on deceivers themselves, the agents of deception. We noted that the basic issue with every deceiver is simply this: some head other than Christ. God put His Son in charge. The government is on His shoulders. He–and He alone–is the Head of His Body, the Church. Colossians 1:18.

Nevertheless the ultimate deceiver, Satan, has widely succeeded in undermining God’s order by promoting the rule of men. He doesn’t mind too much when Christ is verbally acknowledged as Head as long as men actually run things. In far too many places Jesus is a mere figurehead with little or no influence on what goes on.

The leadership of men inevitably reflects their fallen sinful condition, characterized by such things as pride and the desire to be “in control.” Satan has little trouble tightening his grip whenever men try to operate apart from the true Headship of Christ. It is a road that leads downhill into spiritual darkness.

Another major area of Satan’s attack concerns the message that is proclaimed.

What is it that is preached and believed? Is it “the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints” (Jude 3) or something else?

Just because something is labeled “Christian” and the Bible is quoted doesn’t necessarily mean it is “the faith” to which Jude referred. Satan loves to promote his lies under the banner of biblical truth. The truth, however, is all but buried in many places in our day under an avalanche of religious lies.

Everything Comes Through Christ Jesus!

Everything that is coming to us from God comes through Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus has won our pardon; he has reconciled us to God; he has canceled our sin; he has secured the gift of the Spirit for us; he has granted eternal life to us and promises us the life of the consummation; he has made us children of the new covenant; his righteousness has been accounted as ours; he has risen from the dead, and all of God’s sovereignty is mediated through him and directed to our good and to God’s glory.”

What Does Deception Look Like? Part (2)

See:  Part (1)

In Part 1 we began with the warning of Jesus concerning spiritual deception, pointing out that the ultimate source of all deception was Satan.

Satan, himself deceived, set out to rebel against God, enthrone himself and exercise dominion over all of God’s creation. In one way or another all deception reflects Satan’s nature and so we began to explore some of the characteristics of the deception that springs from that nature.

We pointed out the difference between the kind of leadership that Christ seeks, comparing it with Satan-inspired leadership. Satan is all about dominion whereas Christ both modeled and taught servant leadership.

We see Satan’s influence everywhere in human society as men rule over other men. I understand that in a broken world God ordains rulers to restrain evil, however, such rule, though necessary, rarely reflects His character. That is why Jesus told his disciples not to be like them. Satan’s own spirit of self-centered pride is expressed again and again as men pursue power and control in the name of leadership. (Isaiah 14:12-15).

This principle has deeply corrupted Christianity, elevating men to positions of spiritual dominion over others that God never intended.

Shining the Spot-Light on…(and a musing)

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light;  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. …But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.Ephesians 5

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. – 1 John 1:7

If we’re to walk in the light then that Powerful Light, which is Christ in us, needs to be shone on works of darkness. Amen? And it shouldn’t matter where we find it. It needs to be revealed, whether its politically ‘correct’ or not. We’re Christians if we follow Christ, not Christians ‘plus’ anything else: Not Conservative, Liberal, Patriot, etc etc.

Many today try to force us into one or another of the many categories they have invented to classify Christians for their own purposes and agendas. The media is bad for doing this, but so are many of the more visible and outspoken members of the Church in America today. Personally, I have fought against others, Christian or not, categorizing or placing a tag on me for years. I’m  Simply a Christian.

For me that’s enough–and I know its enough for God too. Is it enough for you to be known as just a Christian also?

Forgive the musing–I seem to have a lot on my heart lately and the need to let it out. My original intent was to just post what I believe is a case of promoting lawlessness–

Shining the Light on one case of the Promotion of lawlessness (and violence)

I find this below ugly, and evidence of how out of hand things are becoming.

This is not some radical internet group, but a group listed on the internet as “America’s most widely read Internet-based patriotic conservative publication” The Patriot Post:

Mark Alexander is executive editor and publisher of The Patriot Post, the Web’s “Conservative Journal of Record.” His academic vitae in constitutional government and policy combined with his real-world occupational experience ensure his contributions as an essayist and analyst reflect the grassroots conservatism of the heartland revitalized by Ronald Reagan, rather than ubiquitous Beltway news and opinion.

Alexander attributes the character-rich content of his compositions to the ethics and values modeled and instilled by his parents, the timeless virtues of citizenship, duty, honor, personal responsibility, discernment, courage, generosity and compassion. He was raised to live the “third person” principle: God first, others second and self third. Link

Listed at their ‘Patriot Shop’ page is this item:

UPDATED! Liberal Hunting License sticker -  $1.50 – Liberal hunting season has been declared.

This may not seem like a big deal to you, even with the obvious bullet holes, until you read the bio’s of the Editorial Team and staff who contribute to the Patriotic Post. You quickly find they not only list their education, occupation, favorite Books, etc. but also list their “Weapons of Choice”-

Mark M. Alexander:  “If words don’t work… Barrett M-107″

Douglas Andrews: “KA-BAR, E-Tool (Tie)”

Brett Anthony: “Beretta 92F”

Michelle Hope: “M2A1-7 portable flame thrower”

That is just (4) of a very long list.

The editor, Mark M. Alexander states he lives the ‘third person principle’ which places God first. But is this type of thing a person putting God first would post out on the Internet?

When he sells stickers on his website which promotes the shooting of liberals (even as a joke), and lists his weapon of choice as a Barrett M-107, that is not evidence of God’s Spirit, but is instead promoting lawlessness and violence in my estimation…at the very least its not showing any personal responsibility in a nation which is becoming more hate and violence prone every day.

So tonight, my SPOTLIGHT is pointed on the Patriot Post and its editor Mark Alexander, for promoting the demonic spirit of lawlessness while speaking of God:  Sir, you need to repent…

I did contact the publication with my concerns. If I receive a reply, I’ll post it.

Apostles of Satan

The writings of A.W. Pink were some of the first gems I found shortly after acquiring a computer. Prior to having internet access I had never read any of his books, papers or sermons. If interested, you can find a collection of Pink’s works at the God Rules Library.

Chris Rosebrough at Extreme Theology posted an excerpt from one of Pink’s writings, Another Gospel, with three terms updated (in italics).

The apostles of Satan are not abortionists and sex traffickers, but are for the most part ordained ministers. Thousands of those who occupy our post-modern pulpits are no longer engaged in presenting the fundamentals of the Christian Faith, but have turned aside from the Truth and have given heed unto fables. Instead of magnifying the enormity of sin and setting forth its eternal consequences, they minimize it by declaring that sin is merely ignorance or the absence of good. Instead of warning their hearers to “flee from the wrath to come” they make God a liar by declaring that He is too loving and merciful to send any of His own creatures to eternal torment.

Instead of declaring that “without shedding of blood is no remission,” they merely hold up Christ as the great Exemplar and exhort their hearers to “follow in His steps.”

Of them it must be said –

“For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God” ( Romans 10:3).

Their message may sound very plausible and their aim appear very praiseworthy, yet we read of them–

“for such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves (imitating) into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing [not to be wondered at] if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works” ( 2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

In addition to the fact that today hundreds of churches are without a leader who faithfully declares the whole counsel of God and presents His way of salvation, we also have to face the additional fact that the majority of people in these churches are very unlikely to learn the Truth themselves.

Arthur W. Pink, born in Great Britain in 1886, immigrated to the U.S. to study at Moody Bible Institute. He pastored churches in Colorado, California, Kentucky, and South Carolina before becoming an itinerant Bible teacher in 1919. He returned to his native land in 1934., taking up residence on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, in 1940 and remaining there until his death twelve years later.

Signs of the Last Days – Violence and Hate

Genesis 6: 5, 11-12 – And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually…Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence.  God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.

Matthew 24: 3-4, 37 – And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, “Take heed that no man deceive you….But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”

Though violence has been around from the beginning, (Genesis 4) there can be no doubt in the mind of the average thinking person, the propensity toward violent behavior is increasing.  Watching all the news reports this evening concerning today’s shooting at Washington’s Holocaust Museum, which is only the latest in a trio of recent incidents of violence which have made national headlines, Jesus’ words in Matthew 24 concerning the days leading up to his return came to mind; in particular his reference to the days of Noah.

According to Genesis 6, it was a time in the history of the world when wickedness and violence was paramount. In fact God’s word says man’s wickedness was “great”, and God saw that “the earth was corrupt and was full of violence”.

We look around and think its comparable today to Noah’s time. I don’t think its reached that place yet–but we are on an out of control speeding train, headed to that destination very quickly.

One thing struck me about all three recent violent incidents reported here in the US over the last 12 days,

The gunman who entered a military recruitment office, killing a recruiter in Little Rock; The abortion activist who entered a church killing a Doctor; and today’s murdering of a guard at the Holocaust Museum:

All three murderers believed they were ‘justified’ in their actions.

Justified in committing murder. What is that telling us about not only these acts but of what is to come?.  I don’t know yet, but its something to think about, isn’t it? As is the truth, which is these so-called justified acts of domestic terrorism were fueled by hate: hatred toward the US Military, hatred toward the Doctor, and today, hatred toward not only our government & its  leaders, but entire races of people.

If you look beyond the surface, into the spiritual, there is not anything really different in the three incidents, for all three project boldly the spirit of lawlessness:

Matthew 24: 3b, 12 ….what will be the sign of  Your coming?…(and) Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold

2 Thess. 2:7 – The secret power of lawlessness is already at work.

Church, we need to become bold ourselves, and begin to unmask this spirit which produces hatred and violence, and call it what it is: the spirit of lawlessness. For if we don’t, more then just those Christians who have already been taken captive by it, will fall into this deception. Disagree with me if you want, but I’m here to tell you this evil spirit of hate (which can lead to violence, or at least our applauding it in others secretly) has infiltrated the body of Christ. Its part of the last day falling away. And I’ll tell you, I never saw it coming.

Years ago the Holy Spirit revealed to me that what I believed would be the signs of the last day apostasy, was in fact only a small part of a bigger picture. I accepted that, though I had no understanding of what he meant. And though my understanding is still limited today, I have no doubt whatsoever that the militant hate growing within the hearts of many believers, (which can masquerade as any number of the things: including righteous anger), is part of the apostasy.

Its a spiritual disease which is filling the world and especially this nation in the last year, (as is evident); and like other things of the ‘world’ which have been brought into the Church over the years, it too, is being carried into our Churches by those already infected, who are infecting others in the body of Christ.

I don’t have to go out on the internet to Christian boards to see the evidence (and its there, believe me) I have my own first-hand evidence in the sheer increase in comments left here at the blog over the last 12 months, which are hate filled, vile and in some instances, threatening: so much so, I can’t allow them to be posted. And friends, these are from professing Christians.

Anyway, this has just been a musing tonight. But it was something I felt to say…

Guard yourselves brothers and sisters. Now and in the coming days. Don’t allow this spirit of lawlessness which brings forth the rotten fruit of hate, malice, and even possibly violence, touch you. Where you’ll spend eternity depends on it.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6

Crazy Headlines..

Its been storming here today so I was late getting online. My first stops are usually today’s news headlines…and today there are some doozies. I don’t know if it was because of checking out the headlines later today then normal or what, but there sure seems like an awful lot of bizarre headlines  today.

Just a few:

Gingrich Accuses Sotomayor of Faking Broken Ankle

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich accused Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor today of faking a broken ankle in order to get sympathy votes during her Senate confirmation. “She’s only wearing that fake cast to help her rack up votes,” Mr. Gingrich said.  “The minute she’s confirmed, she’ll whip it off and start dancing a jig.”

Obama Shoe Photo Seen As “Insult” By Some Israelis

A photograph of President Obama has caused some controversy in Israel.

White House photographer Pete Sousa on Monday snapped a photo of the president while he talked on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.  In the photo, Obama has his feet propped up on a desk inside the Oval Office, and a number of Israeli newscasters last night called the posture insulting, since in many Arab countries, it is considered an insult to show someone the sole of your shoe.

Neck-and-neck Iran election race gets bitter; Ahmadinejad  Vows To Cut Off Critics’ Hands

Iran’s hard-line president took a final shot at his rivals Wednesday during his last public pre-election rally, accusing them of resorting to a smear campaign against him similar to the one used by Adolf Hitler’s propaganda minister.

During his speech, Ahmadinejad launched a scathing attack against his rivals and former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. He vowed to the cut the hands off of those who he says have plundered Iran’s wealth if re-elected.

Carrie Prejean will lose her Miss California USA crown

Carrie Prejean will lose her Miss California USA crown today because she doesn’t play well with others. Sources connected with the pageant tell us even Donald Trump has now had it with Carrie, because she’s violating her contract by not getting clearance to do her extracurricular stuff. We’re also told Carrie has been a no-show for appearances she was supposed to make for the pageant organization.  Carrie is getting her walking papers this afternoon.

HOLOCAUST MUSEUM SHOOTOUT – CULPRIT: ’89-YEAR OLD WHITE SUPREMACIST’

At least two people were shot today at Washington’s Holocaust Museum, after an 89-year-old white supremacist entered the building and opened fire “indiscriminately”.

Black Helicopters are coming for your Switchblades…

The latest call to Christian activism at “We’re always on the look-out for the Black Helicopters” no-longer-a-real news-site website, World ‘Nut Daily: Exclusive: Now Obama wants to take this out of your pocket

AHAH...when I read this I had to laugh when thinking about my Dad and Uncles, who coming from the hills of KY carried pocket knives all their lives. Not switchblades, like the ones mentioned in this article (or shown in the photo), but the old time fold-up Case pocket knives which they used for any and every thing, from opening a letter or cardboard box to cutting fishing-line and slicing up a watermelon at family picnics. Even cleaning their nails! I know, ugh…but they used a different blade. Many men here, including my son’s, still carry small pocket knives for the same purposes.

If my Dad and Uncles were still around they’d question why anyone needed to carry a large spring loaded knife in their pocket in the first place. But that was them, (and then…)

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency is proposing a new definition that could be used to eliminate 8 of 10 legal pocketknives in the United States right now, according to activists who are gearing up to fight the plan.

The federal bureaucracy is accepting comments – written only – that must be received by June 21 before its planned changes could become final, but Doug Ritter of KnifeRights.org, said the implications of the decision would be far-reaching, since many state and federal agencies depend on the agency’s definitions to determine what is legal in the United States. Of course, WND as always, has inserted into the article an ad for one of the latest books they’re peddling:

Read the book that says Christians have an obligation to be armed. Get “Shooting Back: The Right and Duty of Self-Defense”

And rounded out the article with this ‘offer’ at the bottom:

Perfect gift for pistol-packin’ mama – ‘Stayin’ Alive’ shows guns are indeed for girls.

I abhor fear-mongering and those who incite panic, its manipulation; and what’s more I don’t like liars. Notice Farah bills this as an “Exclusive”…its not. This article can be found posted at other websites from at least as far back as 6 days ago. One can be found here.

How Christian websites can still promote WND as reliable, is beyond me.

Father of ‘Reincarnated’ WWII Pilot Says Christian Faith Undeterred

What is Christianity + Reincarnation?

What it doesn’t = is the Biblical Faith of the Gospel handed down by the Apostles.

From CPost:

The father of a boy who he believes his son was a World War II fighter pilot in “a past life”,  says his Christian faith has remained in tact despite his new belief while his wife says the situation has “enhanced my belief system.”

“I am a Christian, and this has only reaffirmed the strength of my Christian faith,” Bruce C. Leininger said in an appearance Monday on Good Morning America.

“It’s a new reality,” he added.

Around nine years ago, Leininger’s then two-year-old son, James, began to have recurring nightmares of a plane crash that got worse and more frequent as time went on.

“I’d wake him up and he’d be screaming,” Andrea Leininger told “Primetime Live” co-anchor Chris Cuomo back in 2004. She said when she asked her son what he was dreaming about, he would say, “Airplane crash on fire; little man can’t get out.”

Over time, James’ parents say he revealed extraordinary details about the life of a former fighter pilot – details that eventually convinced even Bruce Leininger, who originally thought the idea of James remembering a past life was “baloney.”

“Him (James) giving us the name of the ship, the name of the man he flew with, the location where he was shot down, and then three years of hard work verifying all the details right down to an eyewitness account seeing the face of James M. Huston Jr. (the WWII fighter pilot) being shot down, describing the way the plane hit, matching exactly what James described. The overwhelming details were there,” Leininger recalled Monday. “I had to give up the battle.”

Though the concept of reincarnation seemingly clashes with verses in the Bible such as Hebrews 9:27, which states how a man “is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,” Leininger said the events of the past few years have given him a “much deeper understanding of the fact that our spirit has an eternal life.”

“And we really don’t know. We still have to go on faith on what happens,” he stated. “He (James)’s just an example of a spirit deciding to rejoin us.”

Former Southern Baptist Convention Officer Praying for Obama’s Death

The nuts are taking over..

Dear Lord Jesus, please come soon…

Associated Baptist Press: Drake, former SBC officer, says he’s praying for Obama to die

A former Southern Baptist Convention officer who on June 2 called the death of abortion provider George Tiller an answer to prayer said later in the day he is also praying “imprecatory prayer” against President Obama.

Wiley Drake, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Buena Park, Calif., and former running mate of American Independent Party presidential candidate Alan Keyes, said June 2 on Fox News Radio he didn’t understand why people were upset with his comments quoted by Associated Baptist Press from a webcast of his daily radio talk show.

“Imprecatory prayer is agreeing with God, and if people don’t like that, they need to talk to God,” Drake told syndicated talk-show host Alan Colmes. “God said it, I didn’t. I was just agreeing with God.”

Asked if there are others for whom Drake is praying “imprecatory prayer,” Drake hesitated before answering that there are several. “The usurper that is in the White House is one, B. Hussein Obama,” he said.

Later in the interview, Colmes returned to Drake’s answer to make sure he heard him right.

“Are you praying for his death?” Colmes asked.

“Yes,” Drake replied.

“So you’re praying for the death of the president of the United States?”

“Yes.”

“You would like for the president of the United States to die?” Colmes asked once more.

“If he does not turn to God and does not turn his life around, I am asking God to enforce imprecatory prayers that are throughout the Scripture that would cause him death, that’s correct.”

Fallen Pastors and Leaders

Last night I was communicating via email with a friend who was deeply distressed to find out a youth Pastor they knew had fallen due to moral failure. I wrote back saying it seems to be an epidemic in our churches, only to read this below today. Another Pastor who has resigned due to moral failure.

A Prayer for Another Fallen Servant…

Word came over yesterday that yet another pastor had fallen. Many of you are familiar with the ministry of Gary Lamb of Revolution Church. Yesterday, Gary was forced to resign his church after admitting to a six week ‘emotional and physical affair’ with his personal assistant. Gary has had a very public persona on-line through his blog, twitter, etc. He has been known as a passionate church planter, an outspoken leader, and a bit of a renegade. (more here)

His letter read to the congregation can be read HERE

Phoenix Preacher linked to an interesting post concerning moral failure in the Church at The Gospel Driven Church blog, Thoughts on Pastoral Falls

It goes without saying, we need to pray for all involved..

My High Tower: Seeing the World from His perspective

I loved this. May it bless you as you begin a new week.

From CrossRoad:

My strong Tower rises high above the ground, offering an entirely new view of earth and its people.

Its lofty shelter offers me peace and safety in the midst of all kinds of struggles. Whether I stand at the top or hide within His impenetrable walls, the troubles and turmoil of the world cannot reach me here.

Jesus is that unshakable Tower.

My Lord has raised me up and seated me with Him in the heavenly places.  (Eph. 2:6)  There He shares with me the perspective and the safety of His heights.  In the wonderful peace of His presence, I can rest while He shows me His majestic view of the world and the people He loves.

From His high vantage point everything looks new and different. The Goliaths — the overwhelming giants below, which looked so terrible at ground level – seem tiny from up here. Why did I fear them so?

Through His eyes I see the people I love, those who hurt and reject me, those who misunderstand, those I cannot understand…. They look different from up here — smaller, more fragile…. Now I see God’s hand on them – His personal path for each, His chosen struggles to teach dependence on Him, His hope, His vision…. I see loneliness and pain in those who had seemed so happy and composed.

Accused Abortion Doctor Killer Claims More Violence Is Planned

Sigh…

Foxnews

WICHITA, Kan.  —  A man charged in the shooting death of a Kansas abortion provider claims more violence is possible.

Scott Roeder called The Associated Press on Sunday from the Sedgwick County jail where he’s being held on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the death of Dr. George Tiller.

Roeder told the AP he know of “similar events planned around the country” as long as abortion is legal.

Don’t Pray For America

Jack Kelley’s articles are always interesting; though I don’t agree with him on many of his eschatological views, I’ve still gained insight from many of his commentaries and teachings through the years. The Holy Spirit bore witness with my spirit as I read much of what he wrote below.

Don’t Pray For America

quotes..

In the time just before the Babylonian captivity, the people of Judah were certain that God would not permit the Babylonians to conquer them. “After all,” they said, “we’re God’s people. His Temple is in our midst. Surely He will spare us.”

Their leaders encouraged them to think this way and false prophets assured them that everything would soon be normal again. Even when the Babylonian armies were at the very gates of Jerusalem they were expecting God to miraculously deliver them.

“Sweet Holy Spirit” By The Isaacs

One of my all-time favorite gospel groups are the Isaacs family. Here they are singing of our wonderful Comforter, the Spirit of God.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you” -  John 16:7-15

More from the Irony front..

Newt Gingrich: Americans “Are Surrounded By Paganism”

Two leading voices of the Republican Party’s evangelical wing visited Rock Church on Friday for a forum aimed at recapturing some of the movement’s political momentum.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee urged Christians to get involved in politics to preserve the presence of religion in American life.

“I think this is one of the most critical moments in American history,” Gingrich said. “We are living in a period where we are surrounded by paganism.”

A case of no distinction between pot and kettle..

This from the man who just recently announced he is now a devoted member of a religion which prays to dead saints and worships Mary; (see, Gingrich becomes a Catholic).

Huckabee’s statement may not qualify to receive the acclaimed irony meter, but it does warrant something. I say he deserves his very own elitist ball-cap, awarded to those who don’t mind letting their arrogance be seen by the whole world. (wear it proudly Huck…you deserve it!)

Huckabee told the audience he was disturbed to hear President Barack Obama say during his speech in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday that one nation shouldn’t be exalted over another.

“The notion that we are just one of many among equals is nonsense,” Huckabee said.

Trampled Under Foot

Randy Maugans, at The Threshing Floor, has a new podcast up tonight concerning “Why There HAS To Be A Tribulation”.

“…he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.“-Matthew 3:10

Understanding the patterns of judgment in scripture is crucial to prophetic study. God has a purpose for the great tribulation: the cleansing of HIS house. The “church”, and many media ministries are now in a spiritual exile in Babel—the purging is coming. Confusion, confusion, confusion!

As the spirit of anomeia (lawlessness) grips the Christian world, it is ever more apparent that judgment WILL come first to the house of God. Christians aren’t taught this…they are taught “rapture” doctrine…or that we are not “given to wrath”. But the FEAR of the Lord is wisdom. Regard His Word carefully, Christian!

Surprised by God’s Judgment

What makes one sermon a classic and not another? Its when the words and message are timeless..ageless in the fact that they are just as powerful when read today as they were powerful when heard by congregations years ago. Jonathan Edwards sermon, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, is one such message, so is the one below. I pray you will take a few minutes and read it.

Surprised by God’s Judgment

by Jonathan Edwards

“The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites.
Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall
dwellwith everlasting burnings?”
—Isaiah 33:14.

There are two kinds of persons among God’s professing people: the one, those who are truly godly, spoken of in the verse following the text, “He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly” (Isa 33:15a).

The other kind consists of “sinners in Zion” or hypocrites.

It is to be observed that the Prophet in this chapter speaks interchangeably, first to the one and then to the other of these characters of men, awfully threatening and denouncing the wrath of God against the one and comforting the other with gracious promises.

An Angel Named ‘I’m Taking You Through’ & the ‘Stretcher Bearer’ Anointing

Elijah Lists Bill Yount reports he has encountered an Angel who goes by the name ‘I’m Taking You Through’. Have you ever heard such silliness?

“AN ANGEL NAMED “I’M TAKING YOU THROUGH” HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM THE THRONE ROOM FOR MULTITUDES!”

For many of us who are facing an intense battle of just wanting to get out of ‘Dodge’ alive…. heaven has heard our cries. During worship on a day when it seemed all hell was breaking loose around me and my family, I suddenly saw an angel named ‘I’m Taking You Through’ being released from the throne of God..

I wondered at first if this angel had any kind of limitations to its power. In my spirit I was questioning if there were just certain things that this angel was not able to take us through down here.  I sensed this angel was reading my mail as it answered….”You fill in the blanks! I have come to take you and a multitude of others through whatever they need taken through by means of Divine intervention. This is why I have now come.”

Yount also tells of a new anointing being released called “THE ‘STRETCHER BEARER’ ANOINTING;

I sensed as the Apostle Paul was delivered from sure death also by the prayers of others that God is also releasing a burden and gift of faith into many friends of those going through tumultuous events who would actually become ‘stretcher bearers’ to help carry these precious loved ones through to the place of miracluous healing and deliverance…

you can read it all HERE

I agree with his premise that God does many times, send those along side us to pray and lift us up when we grow weary or become ill. If you’ve been one used in this manner on occasion, then you’re aware of an increase in your faith for a season, in believing for God’s intervention for the other person.

BUT its not called a stretcher bearer anointing… its called the gift of faith:

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;” 1 Corinthians 12:4-9

But of course Elijah List’s Bill Yount lets his imagination run amuck, calling it by the  goofy name, “the ‘Stretcher Bearer’ Anointing” sigh…

“When man’s thoughts and actions do not come out of what God has said, God calls them vain imaginations.” (Ed TarkowskiMan’s Imagination Builds Self-Exalting Structures)

HARK!

“Hark! From the cross a gracious voice,
Salutes my ravished ears;
Rejoice, thou ransomed souls, rejoice!
And dry those falling tears!

Amazed, I turn, grown strangely bold;
This wondrous thing to see;
And there the dying Lord behold,
Stretched on the bloody tree.

‘Sinners’, he cried, ‘behold the head,
This thorny wreath entwines;
Look on those wounded hands and read
Thy name in crimson lines.’

The power, the sweetness of that voice
My stony heart does move;
Makes me in Christ my Lord rejoice
And melts my soul to love.”

“Lock and Load” – another bizaare ‘creative’ evangelistic outreach

YEEHAW! “Ya’ll ain’t takin my guns”….

So says one Assembly of God Pastor and congregation in Louisville Kentucky.

This is one story that I can honestly say after reading it ‘I laughed &  I cried’.

Clip at youtube; (Pastor encourages guns in church)

From The Louisville Courier-Journal: Valley station church to hold gun service

A Valley Station Road church is sponsoring an “Open Carry Church Service” in late June, encouraging people to wear unloaded guns in their holsters, enter a raffle to win a free handgun, hear patriotic music and listen to talks by operators of gun stores and firing ranges.

Pastor Ken Pagano of New Bethel Church said the first-time event is “basically trying to think a little bit outside the box” to promote “responsible gun ownership and 2nd Amendment rights.” The event, slated for late Saturday afternoon, June 27, is being promoted with online posters, including one using a red font resembling splattered blood with the words: “Open Carry Church Service.”  Pagano says the event was prompted by concerns that President Obama will restrict gun rights…(more here)

Well, that ought to do it...especially the numerous talks by gun store operators. I mean, combine THAT with patriotic music (no ‘Amazing Grace’ to be heard there!) and the raffling off of a hand gun and the people will come FLOCKING to Jesus; there’ll  will be no holding them back!

Perhaps the beginning of a ‘lock and load’ revival will be the end result of this “Christ lifting” event…

From the Church website:

In Celebration of July 4 and our rights as Americans, New Bethel Church will be hosting an Open Carry Celebration for all who support 1st and 2nd Amendment rights. We are asking responsible handgun owners to attend this service openly wearing their sidearm.

I especially like how this meeting is balanced out with the request to also bring a canned good for the local food bank and a friend—  (maybe they’ll shoot you if you show up without one or the other)

All that is asked is that you bring a sidearm, a friend who has a sidearm and a canned good for local food bank.

Oops, didn’t see that: the friend can’t just be any friend, he/she has to be one who owns and brings their own side-arm–silly me; I’d always thought evangelistic outreaches were to reach the lost…

When questioned about this being a Christian event, he stated:

“You would be surprised how many churches use shooting for recreation with fellowship”

Elder Dave Lowley says he supports the event as part of the congregation’s efforts to: ‘conduct creative evangelistic outreaches’

Closing quote from Pastor Pagano..

“We’re just going to celebrate the upcoming theme of the birth of our nation,” said pastor Ken Pagano. “And we’re not ashamed to say that there was a strong belief in God and firearms — without that this country wouldn’t be here.”
