Prayer request

Church, I’d like to ask you to lift up Ken Silva (at Christian Research Network) and his family in prayer in the coming days. They have experienced a tragedy in their family. (see, For Those Who May Feel Led To Pray…)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles..

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart..

That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it..

  1. Suicide is such a life altering mistake. It is not permanent as some may believe it to be, permanent in the sense that those who chose to die this way have no place before God and go to eternal damnation as their eternal judgment.

God is in the business of correcting mistakes, including suicide. Before I post a prayer at the end, please weigh carefully these comments.

Joh 8:24 I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.”

I don’t know the young man. I do know not that he believed Christ. Being the brother of Mr. Silva would seem to me he does believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and if he does believe, he will be received into Christ’s Everlasting Glory even though his suicide is a mistake.

It is not what we do for Christ that secures us a place in God’s Glory, it is what Christ did and continues to do for us that secures that place that we inherit at our death, no matter how we die.

To some, maybe all reading this, that may be controversial?

Let me point you to some Scripture to hopefully set your mind at ease?

1Sa 28:19 Moreover, the LORD will give Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me. The LORD will give the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines.”

Notice what Samuel says to Saul: “…tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me”.

    Now, consider this:::>

1Sa 31:3 The battle pressed hard against Saul, and the archers found him, and he was badly wounded by the archers.
1Sa 31:4 Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and mistreat me.” But his armor-bearer would not, for he feared greatly. Therefore Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.
1Sa 31:5 And when his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell upon his sword and died with him.

My question to you is this, Where was Samuel brought from and where did he go back to after leaving Saul after he told Saul where he would be the next day?

Just as Saul “was badly wounded” both physically and emotionally, so it with those who are “spiritually” wounded who choose to do as this young man did. This is not the normal course for True Believers, to be sure and it is rare that a Believer makes such a life altering mistake.

Let’s not dismiss them, out of hand, that their end is doom. No, in no way can that be seeing Christ died for us while we were “yet” enemies dwelling in sin.

The question that for me is most pressing then is what will Christ do afterwards seeing it is only dead people in their trespasses and sins that He can bring to “Life”:::>

Eph 2:1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins
Eph 2:2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience–
Eph 2:3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ–by grace you have been saved–
Eph 2:6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Eph 2:7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

“LORD JESUS, AS REQUESTED HEREON, SO I TOO OFFER MY PRAYERS FOR THE CONSOLATION OF KEN SILVA AND HIS GRIEVING FAMILY. YOU ARE THE GOD OF DEATH AND LIFE. YOU CAN RAISE THE DEAD IN THIS LIFE AND THE NEXT. YOU HEAL IN THIS LIFE AND THE NEXT AND AS JOHN SAW AND SO I CITE IN THIS PRAYER, YOU WILL BRING US TO THAT RIVER THAT PRODUCES LIFE AND HEALING IN THE LEAVES OF ITS TREE.

Rev 22:1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
Rev 22:2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

    AMEN

    • Thank you Michael, and God bless you for praying…

We don’t realize how much we the Church, need each other until tragedy strikes. I’m so very grateful for Jesus and, for the His body. The prayers of others has carried me through many trials.

Lord we pray for our brother Ken and his family. We ask you wrap them in your love…overshadowing them all with your strength. amen

  2. PJ,

Thank you, that was very kind of you. Tony never showed any actual indication of being a Christian, though he did consider himself one; God knows.

What’s more difficult is there was no warning at all that he would ever do something like this. And he did it using what the police said were “mulitiple stab wounds.”

Sadly, this sudden suicide is going to be very rough for his 18 and 16 year-old sons.
