  1. Very sad to watch this – I also watched Carter Conlon video and it made me think about whether or not his prophetic word might come to pass and that this wayward “ministry” is capable of shame and repentance. I can’t see it happening but if it did would we recognise it – could we ever trust them?

    • Funny you should ask that Jan (could we ever trust them?).

When i received notice of this newest clip in my mail that thought went through my mind too.

The notice sent out was very very deceptive…i actually wondered for a minute if John Crowder had come to his senses.

      This is what it said:

Finally after much concern about extravagant behaviour, excesses and unusual manifestations that have been accompanying some of their meetings, John and Lily Crowder have decided to take a serious moment of correction, to bring some much needed alignment and highlight the need for order in Christian services. Granted, this may not be the most “popular” of their messages, but the Crowders have decided to lay some boundaries following a long period of concern. This is a timely message for a new season.

But of course after watching 10 seconds of the clip i realized quickly, he was just mocking.

I would hope we would discern real repentance, if it ever occurs. But it would take me a loooong time to trust anything he said.

No one is beyond God’s reach, but i question if Crowder has not crossed a line.

      Esau did:

Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. Hebrews 12

  2. The scripture that immediately comes to mind is 1Timothy 4:2 “Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.” It scares me for them that the Holy Name of Jesus can pass their lips in mockery. I had to turn it off as soon as they went to the clip of the people doing that freaky chant junk.

    • It scares me too Holly. :-(

  3. yes, “mockery”.

Not justifying Crowder by any means as by this display, he seems to be sending a “self” justifying message to others as to why he is who he is, packaged the way he is packaged and delivered up to those interested in “knowing” him for who he is as a minister, for or not for, their approval.

I don’t believe he much cares what others might be judging him to be, either funny or a mocker of those who are decent and of a more refined pedigree.

And saying that I just want to note the greater reality of Truth we all can gain comfort from and take comfort in by these words of Truth about the willingness of Jesus to die for even wicked people as is put over here from the book of Romans chapter 5:

Rom 5:6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
Rom 5:7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person–though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die–
Rom 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

I would note this about the Aramaic translation of these verses. In verse seven the word “righteous” doesn’t seem to make much sense to me seeing I would rate higher a righteous person over a good person. But understanding the “form” Hebrew and Aramaic take when “written” as opposed to “typed”, the word “righteous” in the Hebrew written form and the word “wicked” in the Aramaic written form can only be distinguished by the “jot”.

What does this mean? Well, what I have read about this distinction I tend to believe is what occurred in the translations of the verse in question and that is when the “original” words were translated into other languages, it is quite possible the translator “mistook” the word “wicked” to be “righteous” for error, hence in our modern English translations the word wicked is not used but the word righteous instead.

When you read verse 7 using the word wicked instead of the word righteous a whole new depth of meaning comes into view as does a greater sense of Christ’s willingness to save to the uttermost, even some mockers like Crowder? And I might say, that meaning to me, at least gives me greater comfort personally in that I consider my wretched human depravity to lean more on the wicked and more distasteful side of decency than on the righteous side of behavior as a sinner.

I mean to say this then about Crowder, though distasteful and unliked by me for the very reason that I too agree that this video of his makes a mockery of Christ’s variety of ministries and personalities as Paul cites them in 1 Corinthians 12, he is himself a varied piece of work!

Yes, Christ died for wicked sinners and good, decent, law abiding types too as Luke, in his writings, captures for us to consider even the other extreme of human depravity Christ died for:::>

Luk 2:22 And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord
Luk 2:23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”)
Luk 2:24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, “a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”
Luk 2:25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
Luk 2:26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Crowder here is being foolish to the fault by others, and makes a mockery and sport of those who purport themself as prudish in form and nature, sinners nevertheless, which it seems to me, he as an actor does foolishly well.

    • Michael i agree, it is a “self” justifying message to all those who have questioned his antics.

He wants to point out how ‘old fashion’ we are, and how he is the ‘new breed’ offering the ‘new wine’.

I don’t say this lightly, but the man is a fool…

  4. Wow – this was real? I thought it was a parody by someone mocking him until I read these comments. Is he doing a parody of himself? it seemed like they had a tough time keeping straight faces.

    • Larry i’ve been following Crowder’s ministry for awhile now, and the things he teaches on his clips boarder on blasphemy. Go over to youtube and type in his name, watch a few of his clips. You’ll be shocked.

What it just as shocking are the number of people (many of them young) who follow this guy’s teachings. Its astounding.
