Updated: More from Baptist Pastor Steven L. Anderson

Looks like Pastor Anderson is continuing his tirade. Its posers like this who bring reproach upon the name and character of Jesus, the Church, and Christianity.

Watch:  Pastor Wants Obama To Die Of Brain Cancer: “Like Ted Kennedy”

*Update:

You may recall the post (Fear Tactics in America) concerning a recent news story about the guy who showed up outside a Town Hall meeting in which the president appeared, carrying an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and a hand gun. His name is Chris Broughton. It was shrugged off by many people as nothing more then a stunt.

Well, Steven L. Anderson is Chris Broughton’s Pastor, and shares his prayer and hope that Obama dies:

Gun-Toter From Obama Event: I, Like My Pastor, Want The President To Die

Chris Broughton, the man who brought an AR-15 rifle and a handgun to an Arizona Obama rally earlier this month, says he “concurs” with his fundamentalist pastor’s prayer for President Obama “to die and go to hell.”

In an interview with ABC 15 outside the storefront Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Broughton said of Anderson’s controversial August 16 “Why I Hate Barack Obama” sermon: “I concur, I think we’d be better off if God would send [Obama] where he’s going now instead of later. [Obama] is destroying our country.”

And when a reporter followed up with, “you’re not advocating violence against the president?” Broughton, who has previously said his weapons are for defense, says “I’m not going to answer that question directly.”

“I don’t care how God does it, I’m not going into further detail than that,” Broughton says. (more)

When people like these two “professing” fundamentalist Christians, make these type of statements, they are planting seeds in the minds of disturbed and/or angry people. And in my opinion, they know exactly what they are doing.

“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” Matthew 12:36

A holy mind cannot repeat a vile thing, let alone be the creator of a vile suggestion. John G. Lake

Tears in a Bottle

You number and record my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle–are they not in Your book? Psalm 56:8

That is a cry of a desperate soul, someone who knows what it is to be a wanderer, a fugitive, an exile. Someone who knows what it is to shed many, many tears.

Well, even in his tears and in his exile, he finds comfort. He realizes that the eye of God is upon him, that God is taking note of everything that he goes through, that a record is being kept in God’s book of all that he suffers for righteousness’ sake.

And he says, “God put my tears in thy bottle.” Why would you want your tears stored up with God?

You see, one day those tears are going to look very different to you than the way you see them now.

Now you see them as suffering, now you see them as a cause for wondering, What’s gone wrong. But, you see, in this life we only see the reverse side of the tapestry. We see colors that don’t seem blend and patterns that don’t make much sense.

But, remember, in eternity we’ll see the tapestry the right way up and things that made no sense and caused us to wonder if God really knew what He was doing will work out into a most beautiful pattern that will give us joy throughout eternity.

So, remember, when you are suffering for righteousness’ sake and maybe shedding bitter tears, don’t turn away from God, don’t give up hope, just do as the psalmist did. Cry out to God, “Put my tears in Thy bottle.”-

Derek Prince

“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes:…” Revelation 21

Doctor: “I ‘got rid of’ patient after Katrina”

‘‘To me, it was a no-brainer, and to this day I don’t feel bad about what I did.”

“I gave her medicine so I could get rid of her faster, get the nurses off the floor,” Cook told ProPublica, an independent nonprofit investigative organization, in a report to be published Sunday in The New York Times Magazine.

“There’s no question I hastened her demise,” he said. “It was hot, over 100 degrees, four nurses were trapped on the floor caring for her, and we could not get her down,” he told The Associated Press. If the hurricane had not hit, Cook said the dosage still might have been increased.

Cook, who was a senior physician at the hospital when the storm hit, said state investigators who previously looked into the Memorial deaths never interviewed him. (Associated Press)

What do you think about that statement?

The report published in The New York Times Magazine, is now available online and well worth the time to read: Strained by Katrina, a Hospital Faced Deadly Choices

quote..

The smell of death was overpowering the moment a relief worker cracked open one of the hospital chapel’s wooden doors. Inside, more than a dozen bodies lay motionless on low cots and on the ground, shrouded in white sheets. Here, a wisp of gray hair peeked out. There, a knee was flung akimbo. A pallid hand reached across a blue gown.

The following quote may interest you:

Physician Anna Pou, in the four years since Katrina, has helped write and pass three laws in Louisiana that offer immunity to health care professionals from most civil lawsuits — though not in cases of willful misconduct — for their work in future disasters, from hurricanes to terrorist attacks to pandemic influenza. Pou has also been advising state and national medical organizations on disaster preparedness and legal reform; she has lectured on medicine and ethics at national conferences and addressed military medical trainees. In her advocacy, she argues for changing the standards of medical care in emergencies.

“You can judge a society by the way it treats it’s elderly, it’s poor, and the vulnerable”

An Eclipse of Faith

“In a previous message, I wrote of how Peter endured an “eclipse of faith.” Such experiences have faced devoted Christians throughout history. I have felt prompted by the Spirit recently to revisit this subject and explore it further, to shed light on “eclipses of faith” being endured by so many saints today” – (Pulpit Series text of the same subject: An Eclipse of Faith by David Wilkerson)

“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High…” Daniel 7: 25a

Get A Grip On Your Mind For What’s Ahead

“Whoever or whatever controls a person’s mind ultimately has the power to dictate the affairs and outcome of that person’s life. Thus, if a person allows his mind to be doused with panic or fear, he is putting fear in charge of his life. Because Paul wanted his readers to remain in peace regardless of the tumultuous events that transpired around them, he urged them not to allow fear from these shocking and distressful events to penetrate their minds, will, and emotions.” – (Rick Renner)

2 Thessalonians 2:2 says - “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.”

Paul was exhorting the believers not to become agitated or alarmed at the approach of the Day of Judgment or the Second Coming of Jesus.

They were not to be quickly, hastily, or suddenly shaken in any way by the things which they saw or heard – moved as a wave of the sea or as a ship tossed by an agitated sea.

Why were demons common in Jesus’ day?

When you read the Gospels, in particular Mark’s Gospel, its apparent that demons or open demonic manifestation was common. As a young Christian I recall how struck I was by the many recorded instances of demon activity. Even more amazing, was the lack of apparent “shock” by the people who witnessed it.

The only conclusion I could draw was they were not shocked because at least for that generation, it had become more common.

The question is why, and is the answer important for us to understand today.

After pondering on this I’ve come up with 2 reasons why it was common; (1) because after the birth of Jesus, Satan tried every way possible to stop Jesus from accomplishing what he came to do, though I don’t believe Satan knew exactly what that was; (2) by Jesus’ very presence demons reacted: they could not help from reacting when in His presence, for they knew who He was and were terrified.

“And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.” Luke 8: 27-28

Simply put, all that was Good and Holy, came to this earth and stood face to face with evil. Spiritual war had escalated.

What about now?

First, we that are in Christ Jesus, possess His very spirit within us. This should cause demons to react when in our presence. Correct? Also, Jesus is soon to return to establish His Kingdom on earth. We know that and so does Satan.  So the logical question would be are there fewer demons today then in the day’s Jesus walked the earth, or is the truth of the matter something which should cause us great concern–that being we just don’t recognize them, and worse yet, they do not recognize (or rather, acknowledge) the power of Christ in us?

There are not fewer demons today, which tells me we’re not recognizing them or their increased activity. We are lacking the discernment to do so. Have we become such a sophisticated society that we fail to discern them, rather believing our real enemies are flesh and blood? It would seem so.

There are many like the the man Jesus encountered in the scriptures above.

“And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him” verse 30

Not all ruled by demons are living naked in caves.  Not all demonic manifestation is so dramatic; in fact you may pass by people and/or interact with them in some manner every day who are similar to Legion, and not realize it.

Jesus is coming soon, we may not know the day or hour in which He will appear, but we can know the season by the increase in demonic activity;  And demonic activity is increasing. Are you able to discern this increase?

CNN: Secret Service Interviewed Pastor Who Prays For Obama’s Death

You may recall the recent post concerning Steven Anderson, (see here). Well it appears the pastor got a visit from the Secret Service.

CNN has picked up our story from yesterday on Steven Anderson, the Arizona pastor who prayed for Barack Obama’s death the day before one of his parishioners, who attended the sermon, brought an AR-15 rifle to an Obama event.

And they’ve advanced the story a bit: CNN analyst Mike Brooks reports that the Secret Service has interviewed Anderson, who told TPMmuckraker yesterday: “To be honest with you, I have prayed for Obama to die. I’m not the only one, I’m just the only one with the spine to say it.” (story here)

Human Inability

“They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God..” Ephesians 4:18a

“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him.” John 6:44

Coming to Christ” is a very common phrase in Holy Scripture. It is used to express those acts of the soul wherein, leaving our self-righteousness, and our sins, we fly unto the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive his righteousness to be our covering, and his blood to be our atonement.

Coming to Christ, then, embraces in it repentance, self-negation, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and it sums within itself all those things which are the necessary attendants of these great states of heart, such as the belief of the truth, earnestness of prayer to God, the submission of the soul to the precepts of God’s gospel, and all those things which accompany the dawn of salvation in the soul.

Coming to Christ is just the one essential thing for a sinner’s salvation. He that cometh not to Christ, do what he may, or think what he may, is yet in “the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity.”

Coming to Christ is the very first effect of regeneration. No sooner is the soul quickened than it at once discovers its lost estate, is horrified thereat, looks out for a refuge, and believing Christ to be a suitable one, flies to him and reposes in him.

Where there is not this coming to Christ, it is certain that there is as yet no quickening; where there is no quickening, the soul is dead in trespasses and sins, and being dead it cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. We have before us now an announcement very startling, some say very obnoxious. Coming to Christ, though described by some people as being the very easiest thing in all the world, is in our text declared to be a thing utterly and entirely impossible to any man, unless the Father shall draw him to Christ.

MAN’S INABILITY

The text says, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him.” Wherein does this inability lie?

Transforming the Church

We hear the term Second Reformation often today;

“I use “reformation” because, as I have said, these new wineskins appear to be at least as radical as those of the Protestant Reformation almost 500 years ago. “New” adds a contemporary spin to the name….to a significant extent, (its) changing the shape of Protestant Christianity around the world.” (Source: The New Apostolic Churches C. Peter Wagner)

From a chart at Cross Road created by Sarah Leslie; The Second Reformation – Transforming the Church.

  • 1st REFORMATION: Sola Scriptura: Scripture alone. The Bible is the only inspired and authoritative Word of God and is accessible to all, perspicuous and self-interpreting.

TRANSITION Phase: Promulgating anything NEW: interpretations of the Word, understandings, revelations, a “new move of the Spirit,” etc. Sloppy methods of biblical exegesis; bizarre eschatologies. The Gnostic idea that God is now bringing in “secret” or “new” teachings to the Church because it is becoming properly “aligned”

2nd REFORMATION; New revelation supersedes the Word of God. Vision-casting, goals, strategic plans, mission, vision, values, core goals and covenants supplant Scripture. Either: 1) a complete re-working of traditional theology to incorporate the new doctrines and practices, or 2) more New Age Bible versions, or 3) additional writings added to the 66 books of the Bible canon.

  • 1st REFORMATION: Solus Christus: Christ alone – Jesus Christ is the exclusive mediator between God and man. No man or structure comes in between the believer and God. The priesthood of all believers.

TRANSITION Phase: “Emergent” doctrines about ecclesiology, including a broader definition of “church” in the context of the “spheres” of culture. New ideas about “laity,” new structures for accountability, new mediators. Extreme leadership focus, everyone trained to be a leader.

2nd REFORMATION: A new authority structure that is hierarchical… Believers must submit, in the context of a restructured church, to apostolic leadership. Replicating churches by “cellular DNA,” using sophisticated psycho-social marketing techniques and coercion.

Lacking wisdom…just musing

If you recall the story in July about the Church in Gainesville Florida which posted a sign, “Islam is of the Devil” on its front lawn, this may interest you.

Florida Students Sent Home After Wearing ‘Islam Is of the Devil’ Shirts

A handful of students were sent home from Florida schools this week after showing up in shirts proclaiming that “Islam is of the Devil,” part of a fiery church campaign to “expose” Islam as a religion of violence.

Three high schoolers were forced to leave Tuesday for wearing the shirts made by the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., where school officials say violated the district’s dress codes.

“Students have a right of free speech, and we have allowed students to come to school wearing clothes with messages,” school district staff attorney told the Gainesville Sun. “But this message is a divisive message that is likely to offend students. Principals, I feel reasonably, have deemed that a violation of the dress code.” “The next kid might show up with a shirt saying ‘Christianity is of the Devil,’” Wittmer said. The Dove center has come under fire already for posting a sign with the same message, which it says will help “expose” Islam.. (more here)

It was strange that I happened upon this news item tonight for earlier I was reading a newsletter sent out by Florida’s Coral Ridge Church..the once home of Dr. James Kennedy. The tone of the newsletter disturbed me deeply. It began with:

Dear Friend,

Somebody wants you dead. (You can read it here)

After reading the newsletter I decided to pop over to the Coral Ridge website. All I can say is WOW! The central message of that Church has changed!

Following the trail of the “Sound”

I’m still taking note of the frequent mention of  the word “sound” which continues to pop up in the teachings and prophesies coming from members of the New Apostolic Reformation, plus in the writings of other false prophets associated with them. (Also see previous posts: Chuck Pierce, “The Sound” and Latest from the NAR, “plus”..)

Below is the newest video clip (recorded 8/23) at Chuck Pierce’s Glory of Zion International ministry. Listen to his references to ‘sound’ and take note of the music playing in the background during the time he is speaking.

Answering Pat Robertson and Hal Lindsey

If you agree or disagree with Pastor Bill Barnwell, this makes for interesting reading; as well, it raises legitimate questions concerning a rebuilt Temple which many students of Prophecy are anticipating. (written in 2005)

quote..

One of the strangest teachings from proponents of dispensationalism is the assertion that the ancient Jewish temple will be rebuilt.

It is understandable why some extremely conservative Orthodox Jews would desire to have a rebuilt temple, but logically it makes little sense why so many Christians are clamoring to see a third temple. Last week, Hal Lindsey wrote an excited column titled “Revived Sanhedrin discusses temple” where he cites evidence of plans for a renewed temple in Israel. While Mr. Lindsey is a fine Christian and no doubt has done many good things for Christianity, his theological views on the “end-times” which he has been teaching for years are, I believe, full of errors and pose both theological and political concerns.

Temple Background

Before I go into my arguments let me give some background on the concept of the temple itself.

Left Behind author Tim LaHaye, to publish new prophetic book series

Earlier this year I posted a series which questioned the prophecy interpretations used in the Left Behind books. If interested you can locate them here.

World Magazine:

Left Behind fans, rejoice—a new Tim LaHaye series is coming next year.

With his wife of 62 years, Beverly, sitting next to him and suggesting that he not reveal much of the plot, the 83-year-old pastor and author said the next series will be an action-adventure one featuring a wealthy, retired Air Force lieutenant colonel desperately trying to keep two neutron bombs from blowing up New York City.

“Based on the same prophecies as in the Left Behind series,” LaHaye declared.

His co-author this time will be Craig Parshall rather than Jerry Jenkins, but LaHaye promises, “It will have people leaping off their seats.” (more here)

When the Gospel isn’t the Gospel (3)

Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15).

This is our commission as ambassadors for Christ. Amen?

If we by design, refuse to;

  • Tell The Truth About God
  • Tell The Truth About Fallen Man
  • Tell The Truth About Jesus Christ
  • Tell The Truth About Salvation

Are we living walking epistles of the New Covenant–the only true Gospel? (2 Cor. 3: 1-11). No…

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! — (1 Cor. 9:16)

“I wish I had the ear of every preacher in the world right now, not that I deserve to preach to preachers, but I know this is so — it doesn’t matter if a little child says it, or an ignorant person says it, or who says it — Paul said it first, the Holy Spirit inspired him to say it, “Woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.” I’m in trouble, real trouble.

I cannot think of any crime — I can’t think of a crime more terrible than to be intrusted with the immortal souls of eternity-bound boys and girls, young people, men and women, …..and waste precious time talking about myself, about my problems or my so-called denomination or my church, or talk about my ideas of what is right and what is wrong.

I cannot think of a more terrible crime than to be intrusted with the souls of men and women, some of whom may (soon) be in hell…and make a mockery of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I can’t think of a more awful crime against society than to deceive people who are given to us to instruct in the things of the Lord.

I’ve got to preach the gospel — woe is unto me if I don’t. God have mercy, and he won’t, if I don’t!

Woe unto the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, woe unto the Christ-crucifiers of Jerusalem, but double woe upon those… who for advantage, filthy lucre and praise of men deceive men’s souls — God help them, but he won’t.” (from Henry Mahan’s, What is it to Preach the Gospel?)

But many Pastors and Christians involved in Christian Zionism, have by design, held back the truth from lost Jews concerning God, fallen man, Jesus Christ, and the only way to eternal life through faith in Christ. Believing instead, they are to only support Jews and Israel financially and politically.

They are following a Gospel which isn’t THE Gospel.

“Think of CUFI as a Christian version of AIPAC [the American Israel Public Affairs Committee],” Hagee told The Jerusalem Post. “We need to be able to respond instantly to Washington with our concerns about Israel” – “It is “a national association through which every pro-Israel church, Para-church organization, ministry or individual in America can speak and act with one voice in support of Israel”

This creed, which runs counter to mainstream evangelism, maintains that the Jewish people has a special relationship to God through the revelation at Sinai and therefore do not need “to go through Christ or the Cross” to get to heaven.  Scheinberg said this has been Hagee’s position for the 25 years…(ApologeticsIndex, John Hagee)

From today’s Christian Post: Huckabee: Evangelicals More Supportive of Israel than U.S. Jews

Mike Huckabee, most widely known as a former Republican presidential candidate, said recently that evangelicals are more supportive of Israel than even American Jews.

Don’t Get Infected With Last Days Fever

Charisma’s Lee Grady has posted an interesting commentary this week, Don’t Get Infected With Last Days Fever.

If I could add but one thing, it would be to also take heed so as to not become caught up in the numerous and ever expanding wild theories which are eliciting fear and paranoia within the body of Christ–especially in America. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. (see 2 Timothy 1:7). If any voices, from any source, impart anything but–be assured, its the voice of the enemy you’re hearing.

Don’t let the sensationalism of eschatology distract you from the priority of evangelism.

You might remember Edgar Whisenant. He wrote a best-selling book called 88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Be in 1988—and a much less popular sequel, The Final Shout: Rapture Report 1989. The second book said Jesus didn’t come back in 1988 because the author, who was a former NASA engineer (!), missed his mathematical calculations by a year.

The mood of the 1980s was uneasy. After Ronald Reagan was elected president, some Christians began to surmise that Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev was the Antichrist. When he died they gave the title to the next Soviet leader, Yury Andropov, and then to his successor, Konstantin Chernenko. When Chernenko died unexpectedly, people were certain that Mikhail Gorbachev was the Antichrist because he had that awful red birthmark on his forehead.

When the Gospel isn’t the Gospel (2)

Please check out Polycarp’s post, Steven Anderson brings the Gospel of Hate to PrimeTime

God’s word says:

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; …For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2: 1,3-4

“You have heard that it was said, `You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect” Matthew 5:43-48

Nope. I’m not gonna pray for his good. I’m going to pray that he dies and goes to hell. When I go to bed tonight, that’s what I’m going to pray. And you say, ‘Are you just saying that?’ No. When I go to bed tonight, Steven L. Anderson is going to pray for Barack Obama to die and go to hell.  (Pastor Steve Anderson from the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Arizona)

The same God who instituted the death penalty for murders is the same god who instituted the death penalty for rapists and for homosexuals, sodomites and queers! That’s what it was instituted for, okay? That’s God, he hasn’t changed. Oh, God doesn’t feel that way in the New Testament … God never “felt” anything about it, he commanded it and said they should be taken out and killed. (Pastor Steve Anderson from the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Arizona)

When the Gospel isn’t the Gospel

Been thinking today about the Gospel; what it is and what its not. Do you agree the true Gospel is universal? Universal in that it is for any and/or all in this world, where-ever they live and in whatever circumstances or conditions. Jesus said “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mark 16). Sounds simple enough.

But what if the Gospel you or I are carrying to the world, isn’t the real Gospel? Then we not only have a serious problem, but so do those we’re looking to share it with.

Here’s my point: God’s message to mankind, as its presented through the good news of the Gospel was divinely designed to go anywhere.  And when any new “Christian” movement (or doctrine) arises, that cannot be applicable to people[s] outside our own Nation, then its not the Gospel nor is it biblical Christianity.

What got me thinking about this today was was the post directly below concerning the desire of TruNews and Rick Wiles to start a ‘Patriotic Christian news network’.  I’m sure you’re aware of this newest movement in the USA, one involving Christians who seek to combine American Patriotism and Christianity; even to the point of coming out with a newly designed bible (The Patriots Bible).

But is this newest Westernized  ‘Christian movement’ applicable to those outside of the USA? Will it ‘preach’ elsewhere? No. So its a Gospel which isn’t really THE Gospel. It is a perversion of the biblical good news’ and biblical Christianity.

The same can be said for the Prosperity movement…or in large part to Dominionist theology. These also are basically Westernized movements, which if preached in certain other parts of the world, would not translate.

I mean, could you see taking the message in any one of these movements to the people in Darfur?

just musing…

Rick Wiles Pleads for $1 Million to Launch 24 Hour Christian Patriotic News Network

If you’re acquainted with Rick Wiles and TruNews Christian Radio, you might find this of interest. Personally I find it disgusting. An internet ‘Christian’ radio station attempting to manipulate the elderly by using fear tactics, makes me sick. This guy is not only promoting the false  ‘Patriot Christian movement’, he’s a wolf…

Posted by Steve Lumbley at Apostasy Watch: Rick Wiles Pleads for $1 Million to Launch 24 Hour Christian Patriotic News Network

Fresh off his controversial defense of an as yet unrealized Florida tent church project, Rick Wiles on Monday announced an urgent need for $1 million that would allow him to fulfill his dream of a 24 hour Christian news network to compete head to head with CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. Wiles specifically targeted wealthy elderly listeners telling them that they should consider sending him a large donation before they pass away in order to help save the country from a communist takeover:

Honoring God’s anointed fallen?

Interesting but horribly distorted message by John Paul Jackson:

Honoring God’s anointed fallen

quote..

Most of us are familiar with the story of Saul, first king of Israel. God chose this young man to be the leader of His people. He anointed him and gave him favor; however, Saul did not handle God’s anointing well. Much was entrusted to him, and he failed. The sins he committed had severe and public consequences, one of which was that God removed the kingship from him and gave it to another man, a shepherd named David.

Here, we come across something surprising: God removed the kingdom from Saul; He did not remove the anointing.

Many of us know men and women of God who have committed grievous, public sins. They fell. They made Christianity look bad to the rest of the world. They hurt a lot of people, and today, they may or may not be sorry for it. Having witnessed their shortcomings, it would be very easy for us to pass judgment on them. But before we do, we need to remember the anointing.

There is a reason the Bible clearly says, “Touch not My anointed” (1 Chronicles 16:22). Doing so can be dangerous.

When people carry God’s anointing, that anointing touches us when we come near them. We aren’t touched by the people themselves or their charisma. The anointing is not dependent on what those people say, do or think; it is not dependent on how appropriately they act. (more here)

Still another instance when the scripture “touch not my anointed” is misused.

Its actually referring to physically harming, ‘touching’, one of God’s anointed. If you listen to Jackson or the many others who misapply this scripture, you’d have a difficult time explaining Nathan confronting David in 2 Samuel 12; or Paul confronting Peter in Galatians 2. Weren’t these all anointed? Of course they were–and so are we:

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth”1 John 2:20

The anointing is power of the Holy Spirit, flowing through an individual, to empower them to accomplish God’s will.

Many Advertisers Pulling out of Political TV Talk-Shows?

Sounds like they are…

The list of advertisers who have requested their commercials not be aired during Glenn Beck’s program, keeps growing. It was just 5 days ago the list reached 20 companies, (see Fear Tactics in America and Promoters of Anarchy in America) while today Breit Bart is reporting the number has grown to 33.

A total of 33 Fox advertisers, including Walmart, CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint, directed that their commercials not air on Beck’s show…

The Clorox Co., a former Beck advertiser, now says that “we do not want to be associated with inflammatory speech used by either liberal or conservative talk show hosts.” The maker of bleach and household cleaners said in a statement that is has decided not to advertise on political talk shows.

The shows present a dilemma for advertisers, who usually like a “safe” environment for their messages. The Olbermanns, Hannitys, O’Reillys, Maddows and Becks of the TV world are more likely to say something that will anger a viewer, who might take it out on sponsors….(full story here)

Christian Zionists – USA
