And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. And he said unto them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” - Luke 22: 24-30

"If the professed convert distinctly and deliberately declares that he knows the Lord's will but does not mean to attend to it, you are not to pamper his presumption, but it is your duty to assure him that he is not saved. Do not suppose that the Gospel is magnified or God glorified by going to the worldlings and telling them that they may be saved at this moment by simply accepting Christ as their Savior, while they are wedded to their idols, and their hearts are still in love with sin. If I do so I tell them a lie, pervert the Gospel , insult Christ, and turn the grace of God into lasciviousness."

This message was as if God Himself just spoke to me… ‘ it may seem vain to you through your own reasoning right now; yet you have not seen the whole purpose of it”
Although our society may call this enabling, I now see that there are those who only want to be served, and there are those who God brings up as servants.
My only question is this…
why do some people dismiss, or refuse to be served?
when I encounter this it really doesn’t seem like a Humble quality.
What a revelation. This confirms all that our prayer group was given last night by the Holy Spirit! I was also confirmed about the kingdom and exactly where it is…. In prayer and fellowship the joy is known as well as in servititude…’As for me and my house, we will SERVE the Lord!’
Oxy and Donna..im so happy this blessed you both.
I listened to it late last night in another window while working at the blog, and was so encouraged, blessed, and ‘corrected’ by this sermon.
Carter Conlon has been preaching some powerful messages of late–ones i sense are coming directly from the Throne room of God.
