Been catching up on some reading today and came across this article. I can vouch for many of the statements the author (R. Brad White) makes as being true. Most days my mailbox is swamped with letters (marked “urgent”) from so-called Christian organizations, filled with half baked truths and most of the time, out right lies.
If you take anything from the article, let it be this:
I did the research, which wasn’t easy.
Do your own research; and he’s correct; it isn’t always easy, (in this instance it took him 5 hours) but its necessary if you’re interested in the truth.

Amen! It’s so much easier to just hit the forward button. But if someone has ever zapped you back for spreading “snopes worthy” bogus emails, you learn your lesson quick…especially if they correct you with a “reply all” response.
Either do the hard research or hit the delete button. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for taking time to leave a comment…AND for the important message.
Research, research, research! That has been my call here at the blog for the past 2 years. It was a blessing to me personally Brad, to come upon your message today. I pray we and our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, give serious heed to the warning.
(plan to read more at your website)
Is Brad White an orthodox, Bible-believing Christian who adheres to the inerrancy, verbal inspiration and final authority of the Bible?

P.J.:
This is the doctrinal statement for his “relevant, purpose driven” church.
* The Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for living.
* Nothing in creation just happened. God made it all.
* Faith in Jesus is the only way to have a relationship with God.
* Through His Holy Spirit, God lives in and through us.
* Faith is the only way to grow in our relationship with God.
* God has allowed evil to provide us with a choice, yet God can bring good even out of evil events, and He promises victory over evil to those who choose him.
* Heaven and hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end.
* The church is to serve people in the same way that Jesus served people.
* Jesus is coming again.
Incidentally, the idea that the biggest threat to Christianity is other Christians … where is that in the Bible exactly? I don’t recall encountering that in Revelation 2 and 3, for instance …
Now you know my feelings about the religious right. My anger at the religious right was one of the main reasons that motivated me to start blogging in the first place. But who is it that this fellow is trying to reclaim the faith from, exactly? People like me, perhaps?
Sinners don’t like being confronted with their sins. Jesus Christ wasn’t rejected and killed by the world because He came with a radical message of love, tolerance, acceptance, forgiveness and mercy. (Incidentally, plenty of false religions teach those. If that’s what you want, then what’s the matter with Buddhism?) Jesus Christ stated in His own words in the Gospel of John that the world hated and rejected Him because He showed them that their deeds were wicked. So, what exactly are we supposed to accomplish if our message is the shortcomings of Christians – and yes, the Bible does make it clear that we will continue to have shortcomings until Jesus Christ returns, but that our transgressions are forgiven already because we are in Christ – and not the unforgiven sins of the unregenerate?
Giving Christians the tools to live their lives to the fullest and face the challenges of everyday life … hello combination of Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer and Robert Schuller! Jesus Christ didn’t die to help us through this life. Again, if that is what you are after, why not be a Taoist? Eastern religions are GREAT at doctrines, teachings, practices etc. that improve your health, help you deal with stress, become a better husband/father/wife/mother/daughter/son/community member etc. The purpose of Christianity is to prepare us for the next life.
You will never come up with an authentic version of Christianity that fails to offend sinners by confronting them with their sins. You will never come up with an authentic version of Christianity that does not include the offense of the cross of Jesus Christ. And no amount of bashing Christians who actually teach, share and represent those messages is going to make it happen.
Sorry, but as much as I oppose the religious right and pray for those good Christians caught in that dark spiritual deception, the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend.
Job, i don’t see anything wrong with that doctrinal statement.
I might have a somewhat different way of stating one or more the (same) doctrinal points, but the meaning would be the same.
I found that I was wrong about judging others and I apologized of that. I learned that judging about others about people’s teaching and I found that all people are not perfect about their teachings but they teaching the true Gospel and I should not have no business judging them. Only God’s words are is perfect. Also I should not have no business judging other false preachers but I hope that the ture Gospel will save them. I should be use discernment, but not judging them. If somebody read some of my previous posts about me judging other people and offened by it, I say I apologized for it I hope that you forgive me for it. This is my last time posting my comments here and I whish you the best. I’m moving on.
Meg, i would like to recommend an excellent teaching on the subject of judging and discernment.
TO JUDGE OR NOT TO JUDGE:
THE RIGHTS AND WRONGS OF BIBLICAL DISCERNMENT
by G. Richard Fisher
Thanks for the link by G. Richard fisher: It is excellent and very very clear.
If we refuse to judge the deceptive and false doctrine that is literally killing Christians throughout the globe, we put ourselves under God’s divine judgement ourselves.
We are INSTRUCTED to judge every false ‘apostle/prophet’ but INSTRUCTED NOT to judge the unsaved. We miss this distinction at our peril.
I used to get really upset when I was labelled judgmental and divisive for pointing out error and daring to question obvious distortion of scripture, but now I consider it an honor, knowing that I am standing for truth…..because it is only THE TRUTH THAT SETS US FREE!
Amen?
