And of course, according to Romney, he is that ‘new’ president.
These politicians make me sick…but not as sick as the foolish Christians who believe their rhetoric.
“We believe in a nation under God, a nation indivisible, a nation united, a nation with justice and liberty for all,” Romney said, reciting the final clause of the Pledge of Allegiance, as he spoke at a military museum in Virginia Beach, Va., on Saturday afternoon. “And for that to happen, we’re going to have to have a new president that will commit to getting America working again; that will commit to a strong military; that will commit to a nation under God..
“And for that to happen, we’re going to have to have a new president that will commit to getting America working again; that will commit to a strong military.”
Money and power, that’s the road to God. Yea, right.
“Don’t doubt this man’s faith,” King said. “Don’t doubt his conviction. Do not doubt his patriotism or his faith, and his love for Jesus Christ, our Savior.” – Rep Steve King of Iowa. Whatever happens in November, the Christian Right would have done enough to further muddy the water for people as to the distinction between Mormonism and Biblical Christianity. This could have been avoided if the political discussion is simply centered around what’s the best way to organize the society as oppose vote for our candidate cuz he’s more righteous than the other guy. My position on politics and religion is this: I don’t want to hear from politician about God. Each time a politician is yapping about God, i think he/she is about to pull a fast one on me and I don’t want to hear my preacher harping about who I should vote. The moment I hear that I tune off. Let the preacher unapologetic-ally stick to proclaiming the gospel. The injection of religion into politics seems to be a situation whereby the religious politicians wants to use the “power of Ceaser” to fulfill the dictates of God. it can only end in disaster.
Exactly. (well said RxY)
Yes im with you..i’m not looking for a spiritual leader to sit in the White House, but only someone to fulfill the duties he’s elected to fulfill. For ALL citizens.
The Constitution assigns the following duties to an elected President:
According to the British Daily Telegraph Richard Dawkins doesn’t seem to think much of him either http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/us-election/9532199/US-election-2012-Richard-Dawkins-calls-Mitt-Romney-gullible-fool-over-Mormon-faith.html
Well Gordon, i may not be a huge fan of Dawkins, but the man sure makes some excellent points.

I’m with you here PJ!
There are now approximately 200,000 Syrian refugees who have been forced to leave their homes. Perhaps as many as 40,000 people have been killed because of the civil war, with tens of thousands wounded. The suffering is immeasurable, and the tragedy continues unabated. But while all this takes place, almost 2 billion dollars will be spent on the dunghill of lies called the “election” here in America. If that is the way of Jesus, then I am following an imposter.
Remember to register to vote. It will make you feel much better.
Amen.
Just recently i was talking to someone about the billions being spent on this election, especially by super-pacs, while people around this world AND in this nation itself are in dire need.
But don’t forget, we’re a “Christian Nation”. What a joke….
