Everyone knows what a Chameleon is: a lizard..the ones with big eyeballs. But there is another definition for the word as well:
a) person given to often expedient or facile change in ideas or character. b) one that is subject to quick or frequent change especially in appearance. Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary
That word, Chameleon, came to me [...]

What a time we live in brother and sisters. When reading the many stories concerning the condition of the Church, I feel like David who said in Psalm 27:13,
“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living”
Thank God we do see [...]

Here in the US we have one group of Churches pushing against a two State solution and another pushing ‘for’…You’d think at some point both groups would step back and allow God to be God and pray His will be done. Our involvement as Christians should be concentrated on Believers on both sides who are [...]

Blame it on my strange sense of humor, but these crazy news stories had me laughing.
From CNS News, Group Demands Wright Apologize for ‘Garlic Noses’ Remark
The Italian heritage group Order Sons of Italy in America has called on the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, pastor emeritus at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago and long-time [...]

This afternoon I came upon an old text written by David Wilkerson: Driven to Darkness. What stuck out to me while reading through it, was how out-dated it seemed. That’s not a criticism of his wonderful message, but an awareness of how far the Church in the US has fallen away from Holiness since [...]

There has been a lot of articles with mega warnings posted recently concerning Oprah on many of the very good apologetics and discernment blogs, like Christian Research, Slice of Laodicea, LightHouseTrails, and Herescope. Just to name a few…
The people at this blogs/websites do a lot of homework before posting the articles, which is greatly appreciated [...]

Just a little musing tonight on the topic of the up-coming election, and what I perceive today..
I’m not a political ‘person’, in as far as pouring over daily news items concerning either McCain, or whats turned into the ‘down and dirty’ race between Clinton and Obama. If I do come across a story on any [...]

And he ( Elijah) came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have [...]

When in prayer this morning the verse from John 10:10 came to me:
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more”
I thanked the Holy Spirit for bringing it to my mind, for I needed to [...]

EGADS! File this under “a frightening possibility”…Al Gore is one scary man in my opinion.
Mark Tomasik: Don’t discount Gore-led ticket
U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney, whose district includes much of Martin and St. Lucie counties, is hoping he won’t have to attend the Democratic Party national convention in Denver in August.
If he [...]

Does God ever present you with a little token…something which takes you totally by surprise and reminds you immediately of His presence, of hope, and brings joy bubbling up within? I love those unexpected moments. They don’t happen often, but when one does it brings such overflowing gladness and joy to my heart. They [...]

And we wonder about the mind-set of the Church in the USA.
File this under ‘left speechless’
Browsing around on some of the bigger Christian boards/forums today, I read this:
I have read that approximately 2.7 million people have never been exposed to Christ? Will these people have to be exposed to Christ before the Rapture can occur?
responder:
No, [...]

Because my background, before coming to Christ, involved ’skating on the edge’ of the occult I understand people’s fascination with this stuff…but also understand first hand the extreme dangers involved. In my testimony, I tell people that ’spirits’ and demons were very real to me long before God was. You might say [...]

This is a good commentary..The points he makes are why I felt not to post anything on the issue this past week.
By Ken Connor, Christian Post
Whenever a scandal breaks, people rush to be the first to condemn or lampoon the guilty. There is little concern for the individual or the individual’s family. It is [...]

Can’t recall so many ‘religious’ voices being as prominent in any other Presidential election since the early years of the Moral Majority, or so angry sounding: at least not this early in a campaign, when one party hasn’t even decided who’s running yet. Even the MM didn’t come across as vengeful. Just one humble [...]

Someone left a comment recently under the post, Benny Hinn: God, power and money, in which they asked why people continue to flock to him. I totally understood the persons question, we know he, Hinn, teaches many falsehoods and has grown ‘fat’ off the money sent to him and his ministry. He’s by far not [...]

Today I found myself re-reading portions of the excellent on-line book by Travers and Jewel van der Merwe: Strange Fire, the Rise of Gnosticism in the Church.
Chapter (10) Neo-Gnosticism, truly speaks to what we are witnessing today…which I find amazing in light of this book being written some years ago. New age teaching materials, [...]

Christian Research has posted a very interesting piece this evening: Tony Jones Interview: Answering the “Born Again” Question
Over at Emergent Village we see a revealing post concerning the concept of being born again featuring Tony Jones, a leading theologian in the emerging church:
Tony Jones recently interviewed Rev. John Chisham, pastor of River of Life Alliance [...]

Just some general musing this morning….
Years ago I heard a preacher make the comment that its easier to reach a person with the Gospel who has never known Christ, then it is to reach one who has fallen away. For whatever reason that came back to me this morning.
I’m the first to say that all [...]

The commentary below by Albert Mohler is very good. He points out the simple fact which many Christians want to deny; that being we’re really not a Christian Nation any more.
Being born shortly after WW2 and being aware of living through the 50’s and 60’s as a kid and teen, the biggest change I’ve witnessed [...]
