In the last few years, this lesson is one I have learned well: the lesson of knowing regardless of outward uncontrollable circumstances, God will provide for our necessities, and that indeed is a ‘miracle of just enough’.
Micey has written a lovely testimony concerning this ‘miracle’ at her blog today: Blessed! The Miracle of Just Enough [...]

What a wonderful day of emancipation when you come to the end of your own deadly doings and find yourself shut up to the Lord Jesus and His rest in glory!
Whereas you had cried from your heart, ” Oh that I
had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away,
and be at rest,” [...]

This little Illustrations From Nature came to me this evening, so I searched through my files hoping to find it. When first coming across it some years back I remember thinking this was a perfect example of what happens to Christians who follow man instead of Christ. When talking to a Pastor about this concept [...]

This is lovely…a wonderful commentary by Jon Bloom at Desiring God blog:
****
Luke says it so quickly, so matter-of-factly: “[Herod] killed James the brother of John with the sword” (Acts 12:2). In the flow of the story this little phrase sets the stage for Peter’s dramatic prison rescue by the angel. So that’s what we remember. [...]

Great post at Theology Today: The Silly Sheeple Syndrome. (and a HT to Wolf Tracks for posting the link)
I can’t believe that people are flocking to this so-called Florida Healing Outpouring and claiming this flesh based “revival” is Holy Spirit inspired. Todd Bentley is a false teacher prophet and dreamer of dreams and visions and [...]

Enjoying God Ministries has posted a very good (3) part teaching on the misdirected concepts behind the prosperity Gospel, and what the Bible tells us about: Giving That Gets, in order to Give.
Part (1) an excerpt:
Much has been written in recent years both to defend and to criticize the so-called Prosperity Gospel. The best and [...]

From Herald of His Coming:
“1Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: [...]

A nugget from Charles Spurgeon sermon notes:
“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.” — Proverbs 29:25
WE have here a double proverb: each half is true by itself; and, put together, the whole is forcible and full of teaching. He who fears man is in [...]

Very sobering quote made by A.W. Pink posted at OldTruth blog;
Quoting AW Pink . . .
The Lord’s command in Mark 4:24 is “take heed what ye hear”. Corrupt nature is thoroughly in love with error and will more readily and eagerly receive false rather than true doctrine. Should any dispute this statement, we would [...]

Beautiful encouraging message from Anton Bosch:
Sometimes it seems that no one cares about your pain.
David said: “no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life” (Psalm 142:4 NIV). Do you sometimes feel like that? Do you sometimes cry out with Solomon that even the kindest acts of [...]

From First Importance: (a wonderful website to start your day with!)
“It is Christ set forth in His blood who is a propitiation; that is, it is Christ who died. In dying, as St. Paul conceived it, He made our sin His own; He took it on Himself as the reality which it is in God’s [...]

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof…”
By Opal L. Reddin
Sometimes one word in a conversation can trigger a profitable discussion. During dinner with my new friends, Mike and Jean*, Mike shared a recent experience. They know I am Pentecostal, a member of the Assemblies of God. They are Congregational and charismatic.

Over at SermonIndex tonight, I noticed the new featured sermon this month is Ten Shekels and a Shirt by Paris Reidhead. Its listed in my sidebar but if you’ve never heard it, its one sermon worth listening to—even for a second time. Audio Here

Thumbs up to Symphony of Scripture for posting this quote from J.I. Packer. This is something which I personally, have been reminded of many times.

“We are, perhaps, orthodox evangelicals. We can state the gospel clearly; we can smell unsound doctrine a mile away. If asked how one may know God, we can at once produce [...]

The story in God’s Holy Bible about Judas is heartbreaking.
This man had cast out devils and healed the sick. He walked with the Son of God and must have become convinced that He was God in the flesh. Jesus called him a sheep and sent him with the other eleven into the [...]

This is excellent. If you’ve been a Christian for any length of time you’ve witnessed false confessions of Christ, as Ravenhill speaks about in this clip…
If interested in sermons from the late Leonard Ravenhill you can find them HERE and HERE.
There is also an excellent post, quoting A.W. Pink which addresses this issue at OldTruth [...]

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the [...]

A BIG thanks to Four*Pointer for posting the link to this photo and post at Time to Change Churches!
How much has “your” Bible been used?
The above picture was taken at the Transformed event in Florida this past weekend. It is Ray Comfort’s Bible. I would venture to say that he has read his Bible [...]
