Creflo Dollar and ‘his’ Angels

I was listening to a portion of the GODTV broadcast in Florida a few nights ago, and started counting the number of times I heard “We put a DEMAND on your anointing God!”: I stopped counting after the 5th time.

This seems to be the thing today–to demand of God. I call it presumption, others believe this is how faith works.

Creflo Dollar is just one other who appears to believe we can demand things from God, just by speaking it out. He also appears to think Angel’s do nothing more then fulfill those demands.

From Slaughter of the Sheep, Creflo Dollar Teaches How to Command Angels to Bring Wealth:

It looks like angel invoking isn’t isolated to Todd Bentley alone.  Creflo Dollar seems to think angels are slaves who are under service to us.

Since when do we command angels to do such things as bring us wealth?  Angels are God’s messengers, and operate under that authority.  Yet, Dollar would have us believe that we can command them at will to bring us such vulgar things as earthly riches…filthy lucre…mammon.

Didn’t Jesus tell us not to strive for the bread that corrupts, but to strive for the bread that will not corrupt?  Didn’t He tell us not to lay up for ourselves treasure upon the earth where moth and rust corrupts?

Consider Jesus’ words, and then compare it to what Creflo Dollar teaches:

Angel Power Confession

Because I am the righteousness of God, angels have been sent to minister to me. They respond to the Word of God which I speak. Therefore, I loose angels with the words of my mouth.

I say today, let the Lord be magnified who takes pleasure in my prosperity. In the name of Jesus, I command the angels to bring to me prosperity in my spirit, in my home, in my body, in my family life, and in my finances.

I declare promotion and command the angels to bring promotion into my life. I have a blood-bought covenant promise from God Almighty to multiply exceedingly. Therefore, I confess I am exceedingly fruitful and blessed, right now, in Jesus’ name! I command the angels of God to go and bring this covenant to pass in my life now! I have the power to get wealth, and release the angels to bring wealth into my life. (source)

What a presumptuous prideful people many in the Church are today! No fear of God–but after all, why should they be expected to fear God when they act like they ARE God?! (May God have mercy on the wayward Church)

*By the way, take note of all the “I’s” and  “my’s” in Dollar’s prayer

  1. It greatly disturbs me to see or hear a minister preach something like this which contradicts the Bible and yet know one, even from within WCCI stands up to say, “wait a minute, doesn’t Scripture say that we cannot serve two masters?” No one can serve God and money and feel that their lives are fully devoted to God if all they are speaking about, or commanding, is that money cometh!

I wonder what type of church the Lord will find WCCI and Creflo Dollar to be when He returns, a compromising church or a corrupt church? (Rev 2:12-29)

I believe the Scripture says the word of Christ is to dwell in us richly (Col 3:16) and I would rather have that, than any large sum of money that would attempt to compromise my integrity as a Christian and what I would preach as a witness to people.

  2. […] Pimps   Skimming through the blogosphere, I ran across this article by PJ Miller at Sola Dei Gloria. Not content to let todd Bentley be the only one commanding angels, Cashflow Creflo has decided to […]

  3. The wayward church is so pathetic. If people read their Bibles at all they would see these guys are right from the pit itself. But I guess with all the ‘new and improved’ Bibles out there, they’ll translate it any way they want. What snakes!! Its hard to believe they have no fear of God. Even a total idiot would fear God, so where does that leave them?

  4. I would like to know how you exist in this world without money? What is your secret? You call it Filthy Lucure, Vulgar things like Earthly riches and Mammon. You need to get educated. The Bible doesn’t say money is evil, but the love of it. Mammon and money are not the same thing. Do a word study.
The Gospel is free, but the pipeline cost some bucks.
If I am not supposed to have an abundance of money how am I supposed to cloth the naked, feed the hungry and give homes to the homeless?? Poverty is not of God! Poverty is Demonic, it does not make you more godly! What a lie from the pit of hell, be careful to not touch God’s annointed………

  5. Mammon and money are not the same thing. Do a word study.

I would kindly suggest you do the same..

NOUN: 1. Bible Riches, avarice, and worldly gain personified as a false god in the New Testament. 2. often mammon Material wealth regarded as having an evil influence.

ETYMOLOGY: Middle English, from Late Latin mammon, from Greek mamns, from Aramaic mmon, riches, probably from Mishnaic Hebrew mmôn. See mn in Appendix II.

    you say…

    Poverty is Demonic

where did you ever hear that lie?

From an excellent teaching at let us reason..

There are many today who are teaching that Jesus was rich. Jesus and the disciples were rich, only rich people could take off for 3.5 years. (Fred Price, Ever Increasing Faith, recorded 11/23/90)

Frederick K.C. Price states: “The Bible says that He [Jesus] had a treasurer-a treasury (they called it “the bag”); that they had one man who was the treasurer, named Judas Iscariot; and the rascal was stealing out of the bag for three-and-a-half years and nobody knew that he was stealing. You know why? Because there was so much in it, He couldn’t tell. Nobody could tell that anything was missing…, if Jesus didn’t have anything, what do you need a treasury for? A treasury is for surplus. It’s not for that which you’re spending. It’s only for surplus-to hold it until you need to spend it. Therefore, He must have had a whole lot that needed to be held in advance that He wasn’t spending. So He must have had more than He was living on.” (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN [23 November 1990.)

Among those who teach Jesus and the apostles are rich are Oral Roberts, and Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Hagin. John Avanzini attacks and mocks theologians for teaching that Jesus was poor. “I don’t know where these goofy traditions creep in at, but one of the goofiest ones is that Jesus and His disciples were poor. Now there’s no Bible to substantiate that.”( “Was Jesus poor? Video)

Was Jesus Rich? Lets look at the clear biblical evidence. Jesus was born in a stable (his parents knew the approximate time of his birth so they could have reserved a place, God could have made sure he had a room) but it was to be in a stable, a cave. Lk.2:22-24 Mary sacrifices two turtle doves which is a poor households sacrifice (Lev.12:2-8).Why did Mary in her praise say “He has filled the hungry with good things and the rich he has sent away empty.”

Jesus gave up all the riches that are his in heaven to become a man and was born to a poor family (not homeless and destitute), his stepfather was carpenter, if they had money from the gold given at his birth (as some claim) he would not of had to work. The Bible does not mention his riches but many teach this from silence.
Archeological excavations of Nazareth from the 1950’s show the village of Jesus’ day were occupied by poor agricultural people. As Jesus grew up he worked in the trade of a carpenter, not a trade known for its wealth. How did Jesus become rich with a step-dad who was only a carpenter? There is absolutely no indication anywhere that he was wealthy from his family or from traveling with His disciples. By the way, He took no tithes.

In Luke 2:22-24, Jesus is taken to the Temple by his mother a poor families sacrifice is made -two pigeons (according to Leviticus 12:8.) If they had been rich as the prosperity teachers claim they would have had to make a larger sacrifice. If they did not and were rich they broke the law.

Matt. 11:7-8; Lk. 7:25 “As they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?” But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed those who are gorgeously appareled and live in luxury are in kings’ courts.” Neither John or Jesus dressed as those who show God’s blessings today with thousand dollar suits and shoes. Why does Jesus’ cousin John wear such bad clothing while Jesus is walking around in expensive clothing (a seamless garment), didn’t He share?

you can read the rest of this excellent teaching here

be careful to not touch God’s annointed………

who would you be referencing here–Creflo Dollar? If so you need to study on who the anointed really are.

Also, that verse you refer to is not applied the way you are trying to use it… read it in the context in which it was written

  6. Wow Jeff, we will pray that God gives you the eye salve He gave to us so you can see what you’re not seeing yet. I feel sorry for you being decieved at this time.

  7. Amen pj!!!! Some people never come out of the w/f movement. Its so sad. They need major prayer.

  8. Please see “A Call for Discernment” by going to http://www.justinpeters.org. Justin is an evangelist and in addition to expository preaching, also holds seminars on the “Word of Faith” movement. He has cerebral palsy and concurs with the apostle Paul, “My grace is sufficient for thee.”

You can watch his brief overview on this movement given at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary at: http://www.justinpeters.org/demo.htm

Justin also comes highly recommended by my pastor, Dr. John MacArthur.

  9. Spot on response to Jeff’s Word of Faith blather!

He uses the exact same tired old arguments that practically ALL of the WoF deceivers will spew forth when their carnal self-centered lust of the flesh “faith” is called on the carpet in the light of inspired scripture. The justify themselves in their self-righteousness in spite of the revealed Word of God.

In fact this is EXACTLY what I blogged on when I read your article and picked it up over at my place.

    I wrote:
Not one to be outdone by the competition for filthy lucre from Todd Bentley and his ilk in the “Next Big God Thing” Lying Signs and Wonders Movement Creflo Dollar has ratcheted up his occult rhetoric by claiming that he too has the power to command angels! One can’t help but realize that the occultist claims this exact same ability, but even the occultist is frequently honest enough to admit that his “angels” so-called are actually fallen and demonic beings instead of blasphemously pretending to have the ability manipulate and command God’s holy and elect angels (1 Tim. 5:21)! This my friends is a testimony to the longsuffering and patience of the One True and Living God of the Holy Bible that He doesn’t instantly consume and utterly destroy sinful men who publicly make such painfully wicked claims!

I’m constantly amazed by the games of spiritual one upsmanship that these spiritual hucksters play against one another and upon their meal tickets; their deceived itching ears adherents; fools who evidently simply can’t be parted with their money fast enough just so long as they’re told that they’re “sowing a seed” so that they can “reap a harvest” of mammon – the master whom they truly serve.

There’s a reason that inspired scripture teaches about men being driven about by every wind of doctrine because that’s precisely what happens when sinful man chases after the lust of the flesh and the eyes, reveling in the pride of life; all while portraying a false humility which is utterly loathsome and repulsive to the One True and Living God who prefers obedience to sacrifice. The doctrines of demons buffet and drive these rudderless vessels that aren’t stayed and anchored securely upon the Rock of Christ Jesus. These blind followers of the blind are driven, manipulated, bilked, duped, and destroyed in pursuit of earthly pleasures under the guise of “health, wealth, and prosperity” – so called. Of course the common retort is “Hey it works!” (to which I reply so does witchcraft), or “Touch not God’s anointed” (to which I reply these false prophets should be thankful they’re not living under the OT or else they’d be publicly thrown down and stoned), or “Abraham, David and Solomon were rich so if you don’t want to claim your blessing that’s fine, but I’m going to get mine!”, (to which I’d reply, uh, yeah, so what does the Old Covenant have to do with the New Covenant in Christ? Nothing!) or perhaps my personal favorite self-righteous justification for chasing after the things of this fallen and corrupted world system, “You need money to be a blessing to others so the more money you have the more of a blessing you can be!”. It’s here that I usually simply point to Jesus Christ who had no place to lay His head and His apostles who (with the exception of the son of perdition and the beloved apostle John) were all martyred at the hands of the fallen world system the WoF’ers are busily chasing after; but then the WoF apologists will simply lie and say something asinine like “Jesus was so rich that He needed a treasurer!” Clearly some hearts are very, very hardened to the truth of the Eternal Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Again, nice work p.j.! Keep fighting the good fight of faith!

    In Christ,

  10. Thanks CD!

    Good message too!

Every time i hear a prosperity/sow your seed message, i think of those living in nations today, who are dying or imprisoned for the cause of Christ.

What kind of ‘good news’ would it be to these folks to hear these non-gospel messages? none!

The prosperity crowd, and the ‘Angel’ seekers have nothing to offer the lost and dying, but more death…

Only the Real Gospel…Christ, can give these people eternal life beyond this world.

  11. I have to say i have been caught up in the Word of Faith since my slavation 8 years ago .. until recently. My husband and I have been asking GOD to show us the truth.. and i as I look i am seeing things about certain preachers that are incredibly disturbing.. accusations of freemasonry and all sorts of weird doctrine.
Overall i had become just as empty spiritually as a charismatic and those teachings as when I was a non-beleiver. Something was just unsettled about some things in my spirit. I yearned for the Cross and was tired of all the prosperity teachings.Enough about MONEY .. what about the LOST! ?who are going to HELL>Yes we need money to live.. but there has been an imbalance in teachings. Western Christinaity has become so incredibly shallow…… so time to go back to grassroots. The simplicty at the foot of the Cross!
I recently watched a video on You Tube with a yong woman reading from Ezekial and she asked the question: Ask yourself.. is the christinaity you are practicing actually witchcraft? Self willed prayers, .. using the name of Jesus like a magic word.. among other things. Both my husband and I became convicted and we repented and renounced such disgusting prayer. And that was the catalyst that has caused both of us to cry out to GOD for the TRUTH.. from HIS Word.
Most Christians in the Wof F movement.. may not realize that it is indeed a form of witchcraft.
Sigh.. the days are so evil.. people are not what they seem…

  12. so time to go back to grassroots. The simplicty at the foot of the Cross!

    amen Jackie!

I enjoyed reading your comments–its so encouraging to know people who were once caught up in the prosperity gospel are seeing its not the true gospel of Christ.

God bless you and praise the Lord!

  13. HI PJ ~ I wrote my comment over a year ago and WOW ~ HalleluYah ~ Has the Most High ever done a work in me!! Much prayer, tears, repentence and research and worth every moment to turly know my Saviour Yahushua Ha’Mashiach and my heavenly Father, my Elohim YHWH. Studying the ancient Hebrew has been incredibly difficult but it opens up the Word so much more. The Church is missing out on the treasure who is our Elohim ( GOD), There is SO much that the church has taught wrongly about and has been misinterpreted ~ even the Sabbath which is Saturday NOT SUNGODDAY. After that post my husband and i tried tirelessly to inform and wake up all our “christian” friends and the pastors of our church. Lets say this not one talks to us anymore – we were called “Very dangerous” ( to who??), in serious error !! ( ??), closed-minded, rebellious and more. We were asked NEVER to come back to our church ( that we had known the one pastor for 10 years ~ attending for 6 yrs and even worked in Ushering ministry and sunday school – so its not like these people did not know us and all were even at our wedding many years ago) The other pastor told the flock to block our emails and not have anything to do with us~~ JUST for speaking the truth~ Can anyone say RELIGIOUS MIND CONTROL?? As well none are interested in the end times that we are currently in … so anyways thanks PJ for this blog i have added you to my Blog Faves ( as it serves a special place in my heart as it was one of the first ones YHWH led me to to when He was waking and shaking me last year) I have my own blog also
    Be blessed in YHWH

  14. I heard Creflo say two disturbing unbiblical things:
Have the God kind of Faith and Yea or gods
Excuse me but we are not God or even close to His Equal!
Also God does not need Faith only Power and His Power is unlimited and without end. God does not need anything! He is also the Author of Faith! These Faith Teachers have exalted Faith and their positive confessions over God the giver of Faith.
They have made Faith the subject and the object even over God!

  15. If Creflo and others want to misquote the verse that says we (Christians are gods) this is what the Satan told Eve she could become (god) in the Garden of Eden. If you think you are god Hagin Jr, Creflo Dollar, Fred Price and Kenneth Copeland, Jessie Duplantis, then prove it by walking thru walls and walking on water.
While you are at it -go heal all of the sick in the Hospitals of your towns, until then shut up your lying mouths with this false teaching!!!

  16. I’ve seen all that has been said on both sides… Good points have been made to support both views. However, I think there is a bigger issue here…

The bible says for us to walk in love and that love requires that we think the best of people. No one has the full understanding of these things, therefore as people of God, I think we are to believe the best of the Dollars, Price’s etc. by believing that they are only doing what they believe God is instructing them to do. Now if by chance they are not of God and intentionally speaking lies… Then we are to pray for them and not attack them. We are to pray that the eyes of their understanding are enlightened and that they see the truth from God’s Word, and to pray for those they minister to. Also, I think we need to pray that we see the truth of God’s word as well.

The solution is not to attack them. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places – not people. Lets use our energy to attack the source of deception, and not the people themselves.

And if we believe they are spreading lies, surely there is a way to spread the truth without attacking these individuals.

I like what it says in Acts 5:38-39 – “And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.”

    • The bible says for us to walk in love and that love requires that we think the best of people.

      Thanks for your comment..

Understand that love sometimes requires us as Christians, to point out false-dangerous teachings and doctrines. And those who perpetrate them.

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

The truth is, if no one ever held preachers and/or teachers accountable for what they teach, false unbiblical doctrines would abound much more than they already do.
