Todd Bentley commissioned at Lakeland Outpouring: some thoughts…

This evening I came upon the first article I could find, which came out tonight on the’ Knighting’ of Todd Bentley on the 23rd. Did anyone watch it live?  I did. Though I wanted to post about what I saw and heard, I waited; hoping someone might have posted some youtube clips to share with you. So far there is none I could find–though you can still watch it tape-ed at GodTV. Where to begin…

Charisma; Leaders Commission Todd Bentley at ‘Lakeland Outpouring’

Canadian revivalist Todd Bentley, leader of the “Lakeland Outpouring,” was commissioned as an evangelist last night in a special ceremony in Lakeland, Fla., that was broadcast into millions of homes by God TV.

California pastors Ché Ahn and Bill Johnson, along with Canadian pastor John Arnott, laid hands on the 32-year-old Bentley while Peter Wagner, leader of the International Coalition of Apostles, (*see The Apostles Are Coming To Your City, Ready or Not) read a statement about the need for apostolic alignment. Other prominent leaders from the apostolic and prophetic movements stood on the platform to show their support for Bentley and to endorse the revival, which began in early April and is now in its 83rd day of continuous meetings.

The ceremony, held in a 10,000-seat tent, took place after some charismatic leaders raised questions about Bentley’s claims, methods and theology. They asked Wagner to oversee a dialogue, and he responded by organizing Monday evening’s event so that Bentley could have more accountability—or what Wagner calls “apostolic alignment.”

“I believe last night was truly historic and a true sign of unity,” Bentley told Charisma today. “Many streams converged and I know last night’s commissioning will truly help bring God’s outpouring to a much larger part of the body.”

Participating leaders at the ceremony included Wagner; Ché Ahn, pastor of Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, Calif.; John Arnott of Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship in Canada; Bill Johnson, pastor of Bethel Church in Redding, Calif.; and Rick Joyner, founder of MorningStar Ministries in Charlotte, N.C.

Wagner said to Bentley on the platform: “This commissioning represents a powerful spiritual transaction taking place in the invisible world. With this in mind, I take the apostolic authority that God has given me and I decree to Todd Bentley, your power will increase, your authority will increase, your favor will increase, your influence will increase, your revelation will increase.

“I also decree that a new supernatural strength will flow through this ministry. A new life force will penetrate this move of God. Government will be established to set things in their proper order. God will pour out a higher level of discernment to distinguish truth from error. New relationships will surface to open the gates to the future.” (full article at link)

The live broadcast was strange. I listened to a worship group I hadn’t previously seen at the outpouring…Don’t know their name but I found myself crying as I listened to them. I sensed the presence of the Lord. Surprised? Me too. Whoever these guys are, they were different then any of the worship singers I’ve seen at Lakeland. The music honored Christ. It was none of the high octane stuff that is usually heard night after night–which causes the people to go nuts. No one jumped up and down, fell out, etc..they worshiped.

And then it was over and I felt my stomach clinch as the “emcee” got up and began revving up the crowd by walking back and forth, yelling and head shaking. (it appears all of Todd’s ‘group’ have picked up his constant head shaking)

Then came Todd.

While listening to him brag and boast I tried to take notes. I’ll try to relate to you what I witnessed.

He compared what is happening to Acts 8…the story of Phillip. OK, but this is what shocked me, he also quoted Psalm 2…

6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.  8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

This is about Christ–I hope you know that. Apparently Todd does not for he attributed these verses to himself and the ‘Kingly Anointing’ upon the false prophets there on the stage with him. He said, ‘I’m not just reading these verses, I’m making a decree…a Prophetic decree”…

He also compared what was getting ready to occur–his ‘commission’ to the greatest thing to occur in the Church since the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15) At this point I felt ill and came close to turning it off, but stayed with it.

He said he ‘felt’ two anointings were to be imparted that night…the only one I recall hearing about though was the ‘Kingly anointing’. He said it was coming with a big KA-BOOM-KA-BOOM-KA-BOOM! (repeated about 5-6 times as he looked into the camara)

The next thing (I wrote down) made me feel like crying folks..

Todd started talking about ‘sowing seeds’ into the outpouring….It was take up the offering time.

He began to talk about the ‘impartation’…asking the people how much of it did they want–comparing how much they gave to how much of this impartation they could receive. In other words, sow into the impartation little, you’ll receive little [of it]..

Then he said something which is what caused me to want to break down in tears.

“Do you love me…Do you really love me? are you sure? how much do you love me..? This is your opportunity to show me, ‘I love you Todd’..”

Can you see what he did folks…even his voice changed as he semi- quoted the words of Jesus to Peter:

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.  He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.  He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. John 21

Then the commissioning (Knighting) got started…

This was the biggest bunch of nothing I ever saw. All the false Prophets and Prophetess’ gathered on stage, while Peter Wagner led it off by speaking. I won’t repeat what he said, its included in the quotes from the Charisma article above.

They then gathered around Todd anointing him with some ‘special anointing oil’ which was flown in from Africa. He shakes his head back and forth–finally falling down. While lying prostrate, with the head still going, they all take turns speaking individual prophecy’s over him.

About the ‘Branham anointing’ on him…portals opening up even more for Todd, the same anointing Christ has is Todds….on and on it went–giving him the power over other nations/countries….Unity is going to come forth in the whole body of Christ because of this Kingly impartation, …

One of the ‘prophetess’ came forward, hissing and shaking her head back and forth so hard [and long! it must have been 5 minutes) speaking over Todd of judgment against his critics, the Kingly Apostle anointing [on Todd] etc etc…I had a hard time watching her.

When they finished he got up–and they presented him with a ring with more prayer and words spoke over him. Todd’s laughing etc etc..

Todd again speaks about this event as being historic….global, etc…He did thank God for the anointing.(sigh..)

He ends by promoting all the cities he’s coming to soon, to bring this Glory and Kingly impartation.

“Cry out for the Glory’ he says as he walks back and forth…shaking his head and fists in the air.

“Theres impartation in the air..we’re not done tonight” he says…

Then he begins to lay hands on those on stage…manifestations, shaking, falling down, etc…

More bam bam bam…

I turned it off then.

My conclusion was this commissioning was a show and nothing more.

Please hear me, those who believe I started watching this already biased–I did not. As I said, at the beginning, the worship group was very good, I really liked listening to them. I found myself worshiping God as I sensed the sincerity of the young man singing praises to Jesus, to God. And as I watched the peoples faces out on the floor–I saw the needs, the love for Jesus.

But I also was being truthful about being immediately turned off as soon as the speakers began to get up…

It was like going from the presence of God one second to having cold water thrown in my face. I know when what I’m hearing is God and when its flesh or worse. Nothing spoken tonight from those present, Todd or any of the Apostle club members resonated of God with me at all…

I was sickened by the manipulation of the crowd (and those watching on GodTV) by Todds words which mimicked the words of Jesus to Peter (do you love me?) to attain money..and of the misapplying of Psalm 2, to himself and this Kingly anointing. The so-called prophetic words spoke over him by all those present, was nothing more then flattery and in my honest opinion, self serving for those “prophets” and “prophetess’ in attendence; see, they all plan on being a huge part of what they are calling “a global event…historic….not seen since the book of Acts’ etc…Which they plan on taking and sending around the world.

I’m tired. Just writing this out, recalling my notes and how it left me feeling, is like a heaviness returning to my spirit.

But all I  know is, God will prevail folks..no matter how much people try to take his Glory, how many false words are spoken, false teachers and prophets rise up, false moves begin, God will prevail. And so will his people…

Pray for those in Lakeland…please. Watching their faces, with so many needs in their eyes and in their tears, is heart breaking.

Lord, I pray for all those there coming night after night to Lakeland…that you would look upon their hearts, see their love for you, and answer their needs Father. Keep them safe in your hand…let nothing but your Holy Spirit touch them. In Jesus name I humbly ask.

  1. Excellent article, sis – Jesus said that as His sheep we will know his voice, but won’t follow the voice of a stranger.

What we seem to be seeing now is the embracing by the church of a thinly disguised form of paganism. What’s being described sounds to me like a pagan festival.

    Really sad…

  2. PJ, I just wanted to thank you for your excellent blog, and particularly for your work in exposing Todd Bentley. I frequently send others here to read. I myself have learned a great deal from you. I had been away from the Christian church for a long time, and this is what I come back to…this rampant infiltration by the new age/occult. (But what I have learned is that this is all part of the ‘big Plan’ by the New Age movement for a ‘one world religion’ under THEIR version of “the Christ”. The “Plan” has been in place for many years now and it’s just been slowly and steadily rolling along. It’s going strong now, and the body of the Christian church has been poisoned by it.) While I am shocked and horrified on a daily basis, I am also so grateful for people like you who are courageously out on the front lines, telling the truth. My prayers are with you. Keep going as long as there is still opportunity to speak freely and get the information out there.

  4. It is up on YouTube!

  5. These manifestations are bizarre to say the least.

I really don’t think that most of these people have
    an ounce of spiritual discernment.

They have truly been disconnected from the Head which is Christ.

My prayer is that God would open their eyes before it is
    too late.

It is amazing to me that so many people these days
are infatuated with signs, wonders, miracles. The word of God tells us that the last days would be marked
with lying signs and wonders ,false teachers/doctrines of demons. We should not be surprised then by what we see today.

  6. Larry, it does resemble paganism. Laying aside the obvious, what has grieved me the most is the lack of lifting up Jesus.

I have gotten the distinct impression that they care little or none at all, if Jesus or his name is involved in their movement at all. The manner in which his name is tossed out maybe once every service, is proof of this. On the other hand, the word impartation, or ‘it’ is lifted up high repeatedly. I have noticed in recent broadcasts that the whole Angel thing’ has been toned down considerably.

But, in the early weeks, Angels were mentioned every night at least 100 or more times for every one time the name of Jesus was. Possibly more then 100 to 1..

When i have read accounts of some of the great revivals of the past, Jesus was always at the center of everything said/written by eye witnesses.

As was salvation, repentance, holiness, etc…

none of that is present when the speakers get up to take over…

  7. I had been away from the Christian church for a long time, and this is what I come back to…this rampant infiltration by the new age/occult.

stw, what a shock to your spirit you must have experienced!

Many years ago i drifted away from God for a season. I still today can recall the spiritual shock of when God through his mercy welcomed me back ‘home’ and i began to realize, shortly thereafter that a great change had transpired in the spirit realm while away–the darkness appeared ‘darker’….many of the bible teachers and preachers i had followed had fallen into what is know today by’ the prosperity ‘gospel’…'(plus other false teachings)

The “Plan” has been in place for many years now and it’s just been slowly and steadily rolling along.

Yes…i agree with you totally! This is not a new thing we are seeing, but just a steam-rolling forward of what was planted by these false prophets and ‘Apostles’ year ago..

  8. Thank you Final Trumpet!

You and i must have found those around the same time, lol

After i posted 2 of them, i saw in the comments you had left the links to them all. I’m glad you posted the links under this post–now we have them in both posts on this topic!

God bless you friend, and thanks again…

  9. They have truly been disconnected from the Head which is Christ.

    amen Gabriel

  10. PJ – I watched the whole service yesterday on GOD Tv’s website – you can too, it is free. They keep a couple of the services for a few days. Todd’s preaching was really disturbing, it was not just this commissioning bit – when I get a chance I will write it all out properly – but it was basically taking the messianic psalms and promises to Jesus and applying them to man – Bentley!

  11. I wanted to add this without making a new post/topic. Sometimes i get the sense that we can be advertising the devils work, or i do, by putting up new post after new post about this garbage–

If you want to know the type of spirit which is behind this garbage, then you should check out the newest CD to be released in July, offered by John Crowder (Sons of Thunder)…a close associate of Todd Bentley’s (and Stacey Campbell, Heidi Baker, Paul Cain etc) see their itinerary HERE. They minister together all over the country folks..

    The CD?

    Its called TOKING THE GHOST.

    A description;

In this collaboration between Benjamin Dunn (Joy Revolution) and John Crowder (Sons of Thunder), prepare to experience the Intoxicating Glory of God in a package that whacks you up before you hit the play button. This electronica “party CD” is geared to trance you out in the bliss of the Most High God, as you experience the ecstatic pleasures of the Holy Spirit.

This is not a “soaking CD” but a “toking CD.” Most of the tracks were recorded over a two-day period of intense ecstasy during a season of heavy visitation by the presence of God. This is a no-holds barred, headlong dive into “joy unspeakable and full of Glory”! Put down your water bongs and take a hit from the “High Priest of the Bliss that was to be …” (Heb. 9:11). This is not a CD for the faint of heart, nor for the religious (unless you want deliverance!). Jesus is our true addiction. He is the stash that is never cashed, and He created you to forever drink from the rivers of pleasure at His right hand.

This album is laced with grace, and carries an impartation for extreme Holy Spirit drinking, supernatural encounters and sanctified out-of-body experience. Prepare to get “whacked”

    Tracks include:

    -Holy Ghost Hits
-I’m Being Sucked Out of My Body
    -Mystical Powers
    -Drunk Monks
    -Science of Ecstasy
-Are We Insane? (2 Cor. 5)
    -El Shaddai
    -Baby Jesus
    -Strung Out on Him

Video clip of Crowder’s ministry..please watch this if you haven’t seen it.

Because so many of the group which appeared on stage with Todd on the 23rd are closely associated in ministry with Crowder and this type of “whatever”…it makes me wonder if this is what is coming next at all their meetings.

  12. it was not just this commissioning bit

You’re right it was so much more M…

I tried to take as many notes as i could while watching, but know i missed a lot.

One of the things i didn’t mention, but recall, was Todd speaking about this new emerging impartation being upon all the children 12 and under…that they will carry it.

I’ll be looking for your post on what you observed!

  13. Wow .. PJ. That next to last post .. I was waiting to respond till later.

Let’s just say .. I was a really messed up teenager once. Weed, speed, lsd, mesc .. acid. Add to that live Dazed & Confused …

When the Lord saved me, delivered me from that stuff – He filled me with his ‘Holy Spirit’. Instantly removing a heavy weight of sin & iniquity. Giving me a clarity & purpose to life. Why .. would anyone want to go back to that ‘drunken’ stupor?

As a teenager, I read the Necronomicon, the Baghavad Gita .. as well as looking into the ‘new age’ junk. Transcendental Meditation. Fortunately I never really got involved with any of that .. just read the material.

I was born as a Charismatic .. but this stuff is rediculous.

If any man, or a angel from heaven .. preach another gospel .. let him be accursed.

  14. Hi Guys,
Just got this in from Brother Nathan, Thank you Lord for your obedient servants who are not afraid to speak the Truth http://www.watchmanscry.com/article_specter.html
May Our Precious Father In Heaven bless you all
In The Mighty Name Of Jesus, Lord of Lord, King of Kings

  15. PJ, and all the others,
Thanks to you faithful servants for logging all that happened the other night. I was busy, and couldn’t watch it, and deeply appreciate your time and efforts to publicize what happened, and also for the video links.

If I ever had a doubt about the authenticity or lack thereof about this whole movement, it has been forever erased. I pray that some may be saved from it, even snatched from the fire.

    Blessings on your all,

If that “music” group was playing for this Devil Bentley, they couldn’t be all that spiritual to begin with. Only a fool would suffer an abomination like Bentley and those other clowns. It was frightening, it was the Devil’s practical Joke LIVE for all the world. I’ve never before seen so many freaks and losers gathered together in one spot, a darn shame no one took the time to pray for a fireball to wipe them all off that stage. I don’t say this because I hate them, it’s just that the absurdity of it all, the blatant idiocy of it all was so horribly offensive a fireball would be the only thing that could redeem it.

Please, those freaks were so full of it I’m surprised we didn’t witness mass vomiting amongst the members of the crowd. If that had happened those losers probably would have called it another “manifestation” of God. “Hey look, God is clearing out all the sin from the flock! Halelujah!” The stupidity of the world never ceases to amaze me. The buffoons who celebrate it deserve to be lorded over by those “Apostles”.

  17. Why .. would anyone want to go back to that ‘drunken’ stupor?

Don, i don’t know. This guy seems to think he can use this example of drugs and alcohol in a spiritual sense–to me there is so much wrong with this thinking i wouldn’t know where to begin.

We are ‘new creatures’ in Christ–the old man being dead. This guy’s old man never died.

Watching him at youtube makes me so uncomfortable. His reeling around like someone high on drugs or drunk, speaking of ‘toking the Ghost’ is so disrespectful of the Holy Spirit, that it scares me.

  18. Dave, thank you for the encouraging word…

I knew many wouldn’t get a chance to watch it, so wanted to be able to give a few high-lights of the event.

Its actually still up at GodTV, if interested; you just have to click on the 23rd.

  19. Ricardo I don’t know who those young guys were…

Like i have said, i’ve watched this outpouring 6-7 times now, and had never seen them. Because it was suppose to be a ‘special’ night, i figured they brought them in for the knighting of Bentley.

If they knew him personally–i can’t say. But i can say their worship music was good, and i did sense the Spirit of God while listening to them.

The buffoons who celebrate it deserve to be lorded over by those “Apostles”.

Many of those attending Ricardo are deceived. We can’t forget that.

I know that area pretty well, having family which lives an hour away; many of the people i am seeing sitting out in the congregation, look to be from the surrounding area; I say that because of their appearance. There is a real mixture living in central Florida,a big portion of them very poor.

What i see on many of the faces is desperation. Love for Jesus, and need.

That is not an excuse…only a possible explanation for why so many are flocking there nightly.

I know i should be praying for the leaders of this fiasco… but its hard to do, when looking at all the people sitting there night after night, wanting answers, needs met, etc…

I hear Bentley manipulating them emotionally about ‘seed offerings’ telling them their big or little seed determines their ‘love’ for him, and using Christs own words to Peter, knowing that many of those folks are sacrificing dearly to buy gas to come there.

It makes me weep Ricardo…it really does.

  20. Bah Humbug. I suppose it can be understood if they’re poor and desperate, however, alot of them are just clueless. Bentley is just a fool, and those who support him cause foolishness to grow. They throw their money at buffoonery.

  21. Ricardo,
“Loser” and” freak” should not be in a Christian’s vocabulary when referring to other human beings. May the Holy Spirit convict you of this in Jesus Name.

  22. PJ,
I am trying desperately to get a CD or DVD together with enough truth via scriptures, videos, and postings to give to people I know and love as reference material. Something I can hand them when I get together for coffee or lunch and start telling them what the Lord has been revealing to me in the last several weeks. Your blog is very valuable towards that end. Thanks again!

  23.
Ricardo,
“Loser” and” freak” should not be in a Christian’s vocabulary when referring to other human beings. May the Holy Spirit convict you of this in Jesus Name.
Hmm, it shouldn’t, but it is. I wonder how that happened? As for Bentley, they are freaks and losers. They’re deceives, shaking on the stage as if they’re really overcome by the “glory” of God. The truth is, they’re liars, they’re anti-christs, they’re thieves, they’re spiritual leeches, they’re the scum of the earth.I’ll admit, they are human beings. A bunch of cretins, but still human beings.

  24. Hi Ricardo,
I now see you have a sense of humor as I have read your other posts. I’ll leave the language you use to The Lord. I guess it just boils down to your passion and righteous anger at all these poor souls being deceived. Am I right Ricardo? Remember our Lord offers Grace and Mercy so we should do the same, are you telling your Christian brothers and sisters about this deception? If you hit them with words like “loser” and “freak” the spirit of offence will rise up. Just use the Word , the scriptures I am using at this time are Col 3:12 and The Beattitudes. Anyway thanks for being gentle with me Ricardo LOL
    Bless Ya Mate
    (I am an Aussie)

  25. I watched these videos last night with a mixture of horror, disgust, pity, and a little fear. Strangely enough, as I sat there watching this demonic display on my laptop, a magpie set itself down on a branch of a blue spruce tree just outside the window and he sat there and looked in at me. It was quite eerie. Large birds don’t ever perch on that tree as the needles are very sharp. I’ve never seen anything like it before.
The blond lady…someone should tell her that whipping her head around like that is going to cause permanent brain damage. (Quit laughing, Ricardo!) You know, I’ve seen video like that in horror movies depicting demons. That’s what it reminded me of.
If the lady is not faking, then Satan and his demons are having a heck of a good laugh, watching these people carry on thinking they are so full of ‘holy spirit’ when they really belong thoroughly to him. Meanwhile, this lady is going to be in an institution in a few short years, unable to remember her own name…Actually, if the lady IS faking, Satan would find that supremely comical as well.

The shaking that Todd does, looks like side effects of heavy duty anti psychotic medications or Parkinson’s disease.

  26. Mel, and Ricardo…

How about sons of Satan, brood of vipers!

    [A fellow Aussie]

  27. someone should tell her that whipping her head around like that is going to cause permanent brain damage. (Quit laughing, Ricardo!) You know, I’ve seen video like that in horror movies depicting demons. That’s what it reminded me of.

What it reminded me of is the two faces of Janus… She appeared to have two faces!
Janus (or Ianus) was the god of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings, and endings.

  28. […] on the commissioning of Todd Bentley after watching the whole thing… you can find them HERE, a must read post! He compared what is happening to Acts 8…the story of Phillip. OK, but this is […]

    Jacksonville, Fl. June 24, 2008
    Dear Saints
William Branham’s Jesus Only, Latter Rain, angel healing doctrines was rejected as heresy by all major established Pentecostal Churches. It has returned with many of the grandsons preachers receiving these unscriptural teachings because of miracles.
At the same time of Branham’s ministry there were many men blazing a trail across the nation preaching the healing message, that the Bible is God’s Word and He can back up His Word through Miracles. And many brought the message to the church and it was received. I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES TOO.
However, the Spirit and the word will always agree. There is a very powerful evil spirit of Kundalini moving through the church. “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness”. 2 Thess. 2:9-12. KJV

Look at this film and weep for the Church. Is this coming to your Church?

I think you will agree that the above clip looks as though these people were in an insane asylum instead of a church. The sleeping church is totally unprepared for this unleashing of evil spirits and many souls will end up in hell because of the spiritual blindness of the leaders.
There is an evil working within the Christian that will destroy it unless men and women repent and ask the Lord Jesus to reveal His truth to the believers. THE WOLF IS IN THE SHEEP PEN.
It is the love of the truth and Jesus that will get you into His Kingdom. Jesus can and will do miracles but the sign that must be discerned in last days are those who have a sign and wonders ministry. We must test the spirits to see if they be of God. See this scripture.

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles , which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty,”( Rev 16:13-14). KJV

Seek the truth through His Word and not the power of miracles.

Peter Wagner and the New Breed of “prophets and apostles” from the Signs and Wonders Movement, joining the Latter Rain Movement, met last night at the Lakeland Revival to endorse Todd Bentley’s Angel EMMA-O, (a demon from the underworld) anointing Bentley as the number one revivalist of the century! Hardly anyone is testing the spirits to guard the sheep.

    Fordsham’s prophecy.

Did you see the great commission and the coronation of Todd Bentley last night as the “chosen one” to go into every city of the world and open “Portals” (Star Gates)? The only thing missing was a crown. http://www.scribd.com/doc/3356633/-Todd-Bentley-DEMONIC-STAR-GATE-PORTALS-TO-THIRD-HEAVENS-

Peter Wagner brought about 25 of his “apostles” to anoint Todd Bentley and his demonic revival to go into the world and spread his demonic Kundalini power.

Bob Jones prophecy going to whole new level ~ Christians don’t go to levels. Wizards and witches have levels. But What is the Kundalini Spirit?

I have been in the ministry for 35 years but have never seen anything as bizarre and crazy as this religious god Baal oriented spectacle.

Bob Jones, Todd Bentley’s spiritual “portal to the Third Heaven” mentor, sent “a word” that “the poison” against Todd Bentley would end last night. Well, all that happened at this ritual just added more fuel to fire to those who are watching spiritual disaster being unleashed on the Body of Christ and the world.

I’m so busy in my own call from Jesus, that I’ve never listened to these people before, so I don’t know them by names. But one of the “apostles” prophesied that God had called Bentley to open the “Portals” in every city around the world. Another one related that he knew him when Todd went through his “dark night of the soul”. He was truly called as “God’s” number one man of the hour.

And who will ever forget Stacy Campbell’s devil manifesting her powerful Kundalini spirit to prophesy over Todd and lay her hand on his stomach to impart the Kundalini cobra devils to him?

  30. I just watched part of the John Crowder clip, I say part because it made me physically sick. I once took a new christian to a home group and some people showed up who I didn t know, I thought they were friends of the people who owned the house. Anyway the meeting started out really well the leader playing guitar sing praises to Jesus and then it started, I woman started manifesting screaming and rolling around on the ground, then others in that group started doing weird things and were acting just like John Crowder and talking about “being smashed in the Holy Spirit” and they were even acting out like they were taking lines of speed. It was utter kaos needless to say the baby christian ran out of there totally terrified and when I questioned my Pastor I was rebuked “who are you to judge a movement of God” because I was comforting this new christian outside I was told I was making it worse, Actually I was a new christian myself only about 8mths in to my walk and at that time I was telling everyone about Jesus and inviting as many people as I could to meetings. This type of thing is totally dangerous and in the end I still told people about Jesus but would not invite them to my church because I knew something was wrong, I would cry out to the Lord, and I would search the scriptures to back up what was going on with all the crazy stuff. The whole touch not Gods annointed if I dared question .If I mentioned I was invited to visit a friends church I was warned it was a trap from satan. I used to think if anyone was walking past our womens meetings ,they would probably think we were a witches coven because of all the screaming and yelling . I now know it was the Holy Spirit warning me that this stuff was withcraft dressed as christianity. Many people I bought into this church have been damaged spirtually ,because of this they ended up leaving the church worse off then when they came in never wanting to attend a church again (Luke 11:26-27).That my friends is not good fruit. It is because of my introduction to all this so early in my christian walk that I am very careful, if that makes my christian brothers and sisters accuse me of being “religious” or a “pharisee” so be it. I answer to a Holy and Righteous God and I will never be put into that type of spiritual bondage again in Jesus Name. Mathew 11:28-30

  31. By ascribing the work of Satan to the Holy Spirit of God – is that “blasphemy of the Holy Spirit”? These people are grievous – deceived and deceiving.

  32. Thanks Pat!

that group started doing weird things and were acting just like John Crowder and talking about “being smashed in the Holy Spirit” and they were even acting out like they were taking lines of speed…

What the heck is wrong with these people!?! If they all like relating the Holy Spirit to drugs etc…why not just stay a druggie!

Mel, John Crowder is one person i can hardly watch…even if IT IS just to research what these guys are doing. From where i sit, its nothing but mockery…

By ascribing the work of Satan to the Holy Spirit of God – is that “blasphemy of the Holy Spirit”?

I’m not sure Stuart..i know its ‘something’ which is extremely dangerous…

An old sister in the Lord told me years ago of an incident which happened to in her family–and i’ve never forgot it.

She had 2 brothers–one like herself was born again, the other one wasn’t. The brother who was saved became very ill and ended up in the hospital, and my friend [his sister] went to visit with him and pray over him. While there and in the middle of praying, the unsaved brother walked in and began to mock her for praying–and mock the Spirit of God.

A week later he dropped dead suddenly with a heart attack [if i recall]…

There are different ways to mock God’s Spirit–we can attribute the real things of God to satan, and we can also mock by attributing evil to God’s Spirit also.

These people who do the things i’ve seen at the meetings with Crowder, are in essence mocking the Holy Spirit with their words and actions.

  33. Dear Friends: I got this email telling me not to judge. Well the link below tells why we should judge…the wolf is in the pen and the sheep are being ravaged and killed.

A Personal Note from Chuck Pierce in Africa Regarding Revival!

    Dear Friends,

We have had several people write with great concerns about the current move of God that has been stirring in Lakeland, Atlanta, Dallas and other areas of our nation. Let me share some things with you. I actually believe this letter would be worth reading as you continue praying for us in Africa.

We have made our way into Northern Nigeria. Continue to pray for us. Life here is what you may have imagined in Africa: tin roofs, raining, hazy mountains in the distance and bugs buzzing. When we got five miles from the Compound in the rural area of Kafanchan at the Throne Room Trust Ministry, International Prayer Village, you could feel the tangible Presence of His Spirit. I love being here, even though the surroundings are not what I am normally accustomed to; the food is different, and well, yes, there are many different creatures. The main issue is this: in the midst of this environment, I am not afraid of being infected by malaria or getting dysentery because I am in a different land. The people here are some of the most gracious in all the world.

I see that some individuals view “moves of God” this way: they see all the dangers, they are afraid that they will have a demon transferred to them, they analyze every move and shake and scrutinize doctrinally everything that is happening. This may be the only way that some can process their relationship with the Lord and the Body of Christ. I know that many would not like to be here in northern Nigeria in this rural area, nor would they like to be wearing the kingly, African traditional clothing that I am wearing this evening. Some of us are more adventurous than others. Some need to fully test the water before they swim. Personally, I have found that there is great joy in watching God’s people express themselves, work through their issues, learn to discern both good and evil and continually mature in Him.

I was just in Zambia. We saw a great reconciliation of the nation and people with the ex-President. This man had a great reproach from his terms in office. However, God in His grace chose to bring him forth, humble him and forgive him, and use him to change a nation. From a political standpoint, many would have wished he would have stayed estranged from the Body. However, I chose to go with the Spirit of God above political party divisions and reconcile him back into God’s Kingdom plan.

We at Glory of Zion International have chosen to number ourselves in intercession with what is happening in Lakeland and other places throughout the world. Some have written asking me to reject Todd Bentley. GZI does not have a philosophy or mindset to reject anyone. We watch, pray, and then try to communicate what the Lord is saying to help the overall Body of Christ advance.

I have seen others get offended because key leaders commissioned Todd as a modern day evangelist. We at GZI have no problems with this. Please know that we are living in an age where the Apostolic gift in the Body has come into a new position and era of authority. I was very excited to read Peter Wagner’s report (you may go to our web site to read this) on the commissioning service in Lakeland. I admire Ché Ahn, Bill Johnson, and John Arnott. I can now rest in Him, knowing that if things get way out of sync, they can help Todd make adjustments so the Spirit can keep moving.

We will continue to pray that the Lord raise Evangelists all over the world who can reach the harvest fields today. Yes, they may look different than Billy Graham, and they may have experienced some unusual happenings that perhaps will be better communicated as they grow in the Lord. But overall they are stirring the Body of Christ, leading people to the Lord, and doing the works of Jesus.

Let me share with you a personal experience. When Pam and I were in the Baptist Church in the early ’80’s, we were in a “move of God.” The Fullness Movement had touched the Baptist Church in the late ’70s, led by Jim Hylton, Ras Robinson, Jack Taylor and others. We had had some incredible meetings at our church. Many had gotten saved, gotten right with the Lord and filled with the Spirit of God. I loved this time. Pam and I both reminisce over it and call it “the Glory Days”. Then James Robison had his annual meeting and invited John Wimber to minister. Many of you remember our story of Pam’s barrenness. You can read about it in two or three of the books that we have written. We were told by all of our leadership how this “move” had gotten way out of hand, and now that John Wimber (who had no Baptist roots), was invading James Robison’s meeting, we should all stay away from these gatherings. (You should know that John Wimber and Peter Wagner helped revive signs and wonders in the ’80s.) Well, I heard God very clearly tell Pam and me to go in January, 1984 to the James Robison meeting where John Wimber was speaking. While we were there, the Spirit of God fell on my wife and sovereignly filled her. His power knocked the clots out of her uterus and He dramatically healed her. When the Spirit of God fell on Pam she said, “You were right! There are demons everywhere, but I AM HEALED!”

This was not about John Wimber. This was not about Baptists. This was not about controversy. This test was ours! The situation was about us following God without fear so He could reward us with an incredible blessing. Pam became pregnant two weeks later and continued to be pregnant for the next 10 years of our life. We had six wonderful children. I’m so thankful I listened to the Spirit of God and did not let religious fear rule us. There were others with us that were not touched at all by the meetings. As a matter of fact, they did not appreciate at all the way John Wimber ministered. However, in the midst of his ministry, the Spirit of God ministered to us and changed the course of our lives.

I am honored that God brought me into alignment with Peter and Doris Wagner after I embraced the move of God that had been stirred by he and John Wimber. We have now been together for 17 years. During that time, I have continued to get the best God has to offer from the revivals in Argentina, Toronto, the “Laughter Movement”, Brownsville, and any other fresh breath of wind that blows. I have many friends who have great cautions over experiential manifestations and extra-Biblical sensational happenings. I heed those friends’ voices and listen carefully. This does not keep me from experiencing what God is doing. I love what Bishop Bill Hamon says, “Eat the meat and spit out the bones and you will find yourself nourished.”

Recently, I have been pondering the first several verses of Genesis. In the midst of a wreck and ruined, chaotic, without-form earth, the Spirit of God began to hover. Once the Spirit began to hover, God could speak into the earth realm and pull forth creativity. He did this for six straight days. But notice God’s order: He didn’t try and set in order the sixth day before the first day. He didn’t try to place the fourth day before the second day. Little by little, as the Spirit hovered, order came and man was offered a new position as a result. That is how I view every move of God.

What I would encourage you to do is to keep discerning by the Word and the Spirit, but to be open to see the Lord move in a new way. The disciples could not understand why the Lord would go to Samaria and visit with the woman at the well. However, because of His love and boldness to break a religious standard, a whole city was saved (John 4). The Lord is preparing to save entire cities today.

Thank God that Jesus talked to this woman – a person with a past, a Samaritan, and a woman. He was not afraid of His reputation being marred. Recently, a letter from one of the major Bible churches in Denton went out to leaders in our city on the doctrine of women and how they should have a subservient role in the Body of Christ in public ministry. Prior to this letter going out, I had invited Cindy Jacobs to minister at Glory of Zion on Sunday, July 6. I want you to know that I have been a champion for women ministers throughout the years. I am so very excited to have Cindy with us on July 6th because women are welcome to minister in Denton, Texas. I would never shut the door of ministry for her to come into this city because of man’s opinion.

Neither would I, Robert Heidler or any leader that is aligned with me, shut the door to Keith Miller or Todd Bentley to come to Denton to minister what the Spirit of God is doing in their lives. We consider it a privilege that God has opened the gate for Spirit-led ministry to come into Denton. We are glad that He “needs” to come to Denton just like He “needed” to go to Samaria. You are always welcome to come to Denton. As a matter of fact, you might “need” to come here to gain your next release from the Lord. You can go to Keith Miller’s meeting. You can come to our Firstfruits Gathering. You can come be with Cindy Jacobs on Sunday, July 6. You can come to Tuesday Morning Prayer. You are invited to come any time and you will not be rejected as you come into this city.

Keep praying for us. We will be home on Tuesday.

  34. I see that some individuals view “moves of God” this way: they see all the dangers, they are afraid that they will have a demon transferred to them, they analyze every move and shake and scrutinize doctrinally everything that is happening. This may be the only way that some can process their relationship with the Lord and the Body of Christ.

I cannot fathom a Christian saying something so stupid! So according to this, its wrong to “scrutinize doctrinally everything that is happening”….

    This leaves me speechless.

I have seen others get offended because key leaders commissioned Todd as a modern day evangelist. We at GZI have no problems with this. Please know that we are living in an age where the Apostolic gift in the Body has come into a new position and era of authority.

What a crock…a new position of and era of authority–authority over who? The Church?

That is what im getting from the many things like this, i’ve been reading Pat. These puffed up so-called “Apostles” act like Jesus is no longer the ‘head’ over the body of Christ, but they have taken His place!

  35. What I find interesting in this debate is this:
If I am right in experiencing this move of God @ Lakeland,
that is spreading like wildfire across the nation, I will glorify God.
If I am wrong, his grace is sufficient to forgive that sin.
On the other hand, those who choose to condemn this as the
    work of the evil one….
Calling something from God as of the devil is blasphemy,
    The ONE unforgivable sin.
Which side do you want to be on?

  36. Thank you for your words here. I hope others come to the same realizations.
I have been saying the same things sice this whole fiasco started to anyone who would listen.
Bless you for coming out with the truth

  38. How amazing that those who invoke the early Christian church conveniently ignore its core teachings. They may rebuke those who “scrutinize doctrinally”. However, Luke wrote about a more noble way and its results.

And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. — Acts 17:10-12

One of the things that has concerned me in the Spirit for a long time is what I call “easy prophecy” or “prophecy on cue” that we see evidenced today compared with the humility and the understanding of the heavy burden that the gift of prophecy places on the true prophet. Contrast the anointing of Todd Bentley with the passing of the mantle from Elijah to Elisha (1 Kings 19:19-20).

As I was watching or reading the various links to Bentley, Crowder, Lake and the “strange fire” video, I was led to the prophet Jeremiah:

Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye and be drunken, and spue and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts. — Jeremiah 25:27-29

We live in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation. Did God send prophets shouting “Fire” at the people so they would experience the fire of the Holy Spirit and stop passing their children through the fires of Molech? He did not. He did not send multitudes of popular prophets. He sent a handful prophets of a lonely separated walk like Jeremiah, Elijah, Elisha and Micaiah.

What happened to those popular prophets, the “in” crowd, so to speak? We only need to turn forward a few chapters in Jeremiah:

In Jeremiah 28, Hananiah has prophesied peace for Jerusalem, contrary to the true prophecies given to Jeremiah about the fate of Jerusalem at the hands of Babylon. In verse 6, even Jeremiah gives an “Amen” to this prophesy, in the sense that it is his desire to see the Lord deliver His people from oppression and restore it to its former greatness.

Nevertheless, Jeremiah is commissioned to speak the Word of God, as unpopular and lonely as that mantle might be. So when Hananiah speaks falsely in the name of the Lord, that the yoke of Babylon will be broken within two years, the LORD gives Jeremiah the truth in response: the yoke of wood will be replaced with a yoke of iron.

And then the LORD gives Jeremiah a word especially for Hananiah:

Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD has not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. Therefore, thus saith the LORD; Behold, I cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year, thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD. So Hananiah the prophet died in the same year in the seventh month. — Jeremiah 28:15-17

So to those who are proclaiming a revival for the church, I say “Amen”. The LORD do so and more to bring His people back to Him. As it says in Jeremiah 28:9, “The prophet with prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD has truly sent him.”

Nevertheless, God teaches us in His Word to test the spirits. And He has given us His Holy Word, the Bible, as a standard by which to test those spirits.

I do not claim to be a prophet, nor would I ever seek such a burden. Nor is there any instance that I am aware of in Scripture where any of the true prophets volunteered for the office. They were called of God, and God often had to overcome their reluctance. Now reluctance, if persisted in, may indicate a lack of faith. But I believe God chose reluctant people to be His prophets, because it was part of their humble nature which allowed them to be used by God.

So if there is any shaking going on from a true prophet, it should not be in a drunken stupor drawing attention to oneself; rather it should be in trembling at the awesome burden which the LORD has laid upon you. For indeed, if you claim to be a prophet but you make the people to trust in a lie, you need not worry about what your earthly critics shall do to you. Instead, worry about what the LORD will do to those who falsely prohesy in His name.

  39. Paul… that was very well written and you have just hit the nail on the head with all of this…you spoke volumes.

    Many blessings

  40. The quotation is taken out of context. In context, it does not parallel John 21. Moreover, in context, most of the occurrences of the word “me” refer to Todd’s pastor rather than Todd.

Here is my transcription of Todd’s remarks, from the June 23 Lakeland episode, beginning at about 22:19:24 EST:

And so I want to give everybody, and especially our guests and leaders, an opportunity to say, “Todd, we love you. We stand with you and here’s our offering.”

You know my pastor said to me one time. I went to this church. He said, “Todd, do you really love me?” I said, “I love you.” He said, “Todd, do you really love me?” I said, “I love you.” He goes, “How come you don’t bless us?” I said, “What do you mean?” He said,”You’ve been in our church, you know, all these months and you’ve never given us an offering and you call me your spiritual father.” And I said, “Really, I can’t just come and get blessed and . . . ? I . . . .You mean you want me to tithe?” I said, “What’s tithing?” I didn’t even know–we’re not asking for your tithe. But I didn’t even understand what tithing, let alone offerings, were. And he said, “I’ve been mentoring you for six months and I don’t think you’ve ever given one offering in the church.” He said, “That doesn’t mean I don’t love you and that doesn’t mean that you don’t love me. But if you really love me it’d be great if you could show me some support once in a while.” How many of you love what God’s doing? How many of you love what God’s doing? So how about “show me” tonight? We love–we’re behind you, Todd. We’re behind what God is doing. We want to bless you in the offering. You’re blessing the Kingdom. So can I have all my ushers come?

There is much to rightly criticize in this episode, such as Todd’s promise that audience members will receive impartation in proportion to their financial gifts. But it’s not necessary or appropriate to quote Todd out of context.
