  1. The above report just came out so im only assuming its fact.

    Story developing…

  2. Confirmed:

UPDATE 3: At 6:15 p.m. ET, the L.A. Times reports that Jackson is dead.

  3. Yes, I just watched the report.
What a tragic end to a tragic character. Michael Jackson’s is only one ‘story’ of many that shouts out the futility of fame and riches. He appeared to have everything, but actually had nothing without The Lord Jesus Christ. And where is he now? A haunting question. What a waste of a life.

    • And where is he now? A haunting question.

Yes, it is a haunting question…

The first well-known ‘star’ who died suddenly after i was saved was John Lennon. I still recall today, the horrible thoughts which went through my mind that day, concerning where he was..

    • I have had a burden for Michael Jackson for years. I have been so sad and crying for days for the same reason of which you speak. I don’t know where he is. I prayed for God to save him for years and I hope I will see him in heaven one day. It is comforting for me to know there are others who are concerned as well for his salvation and his eternity.

  4. It is especially sad that Michael Jackson died so suddenly as compared to Farrah Fawcett who knew she was dying for a long time and had a chance to prepare.. did she find Christ before her death? Ryan O’neil said on the news that she received the last rites but who knows what went between her and the Saviour before her last breath?

on the other hand, Michael was here one moment and gone the next.. with no chance to look to eternity like Farrah had the chance to.. would you agree with this?

    Perhaps both are lost..

I feel so sorry for his children, this must have been a terrible shock to them, and I pray that God will intervene and that they will go where they will hear the gospel.

  5. SOULREFUGE has a relevant post up tonight:

    See: When Famous People Die

    Bill is right:

For some strange reason it seems that whenever a well known person dies it tends to get our attention and makes us think about the afterlife a little more than we usually do.

  6. With a verse like this one, I think of the afterlife daily now:::>

Act 4:33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

    Or these too:::>

Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ–by grace you have been saved–
Eph 2:6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Eph 2:7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

As I have said before I say again, “….if you do not die and go to Heaven before you die, you do not go to Heaven!”

    • As I have said before I say again, “….if you do not die and go to Heaven before you die, you do not go to Heaven!”

      Good words to remember Michael..

  7. “There is a season for all things under Heaven; a time to live, a time to die.” It is sad that Michael Jackson chose the dark path, the wicked path. He settled a multi-million dollar suit for molestation inflicted on an innocent boy, he sang of nothing but lust and evil, being famous for dancing while grabbing his crotch, he morphed jhis body , as a man, into a transvestite look a like to the woman singer Diana Ross. Yes, he was the King of Pop, as was Elvis of the last generation, but in the end, he was just another perverted entertainer who fell for the lie, and forfeited his eternal soul because of it. He is to be pitied, and a collosal loser in the Eternal realm.

    • Well, i won’t say anything about his final destination only because i don’t know.

He did live a tragic life–one which i never understood. I only hope he came to know Jesus before he died, but we can’t know for sure. Some day we will..

  8. .I was looking for MJ tributes and found this site and to speak ill off the dead is just sad and pathetic . I just reliesed how rude and delusional Christians actually are.

What the ####, dissing a guy saying he sang about about lust and evil..YOU MUST LIVE A BORING AND POINTLESS LIFE…
Just think when your dead your not going to make no impact on the world like Michael did.

I would never send my kids to church because your just a bunch of idiots and you have proved it here

    • Todd,

Please remember, just because Christians are saved through Jesus Christ, we are still VERY imperfect human-beings.

Don’t let us…or any other Christian keep you from Christ.

  9. PJ,

I could just come through the internet as fast as light and kiss you one Holy kiss!

1Th 5:26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
1Th 5:27 I put you under oath before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.
1Th 5:28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

You responded with great wisdom here:::>

    “….Well, i won’t say anything about his final destination only because i don’t know….”

None of us know but one thing, that one thing that is, “Jesus” died for us.

He alone decides when we live and die and why and where and how.

God is Eternal and unlike us, He has a full untarnished deck of cards in His Hand, both at our birth and at our death, however wonderful or tragic it is.

We, even at our best, He deems unworthy and unrighteous, fit only for a wicked terrible death, which we all deserve, have His Faith or we do not, at our passing!

What’s that old saw? When once I die and find myself in heaven or hell, I am going to be surprised “who” is there and “who” is not!

I certainly want to err on the side of being there, In the Fullness of His Holiness and Glory, you? 🙂

We all will die sinners. Not everyone will die predestined to come alive in His Glory after our passing too!

I don’t know either, PJ, where Michael Jackson is, but I know that I know that I know the Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and that no man revealed that to me!

Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

    • What’s that old saw? When once I die and find myself in heaven or hell, I am going to be surprised “who” is there and “who” is not!

I certainly want to err on the side of being there, In the Fullness of His Holiness and Glory, you?

A holy kiss back to you brother! 🙂

Michael, i am always checked in my spirit in giving opinions about peoples salvation after they’ve died. For one thing, unless God himself reveals the person’s private life and heart to us how can we know, and really, ‘should’ we be informed?

Death is the most private experience we’ll ever go through. Its just us and God. And we’ll all face it one day, if the Lord tarries.

I learned a valuable lesson years ago when crying out to God concerning the actions of someone i loved…

The Holy Spirit rebuked me with the admonition:

“Work out YOUR OWN salvation with fear and trembling…and leave ____ to me!”

aha.. it taught me a lesson, and i don’t want to be rebuked like that again…

  10. PJ, Here is the link to that article (When Famous People Die).

    http://soulrefuge.wordpress.com/2009/06/26/when-famous-people-die-2/

Sorry but I re- posted that article and it broke the original link. Bill

P.S. Truly a heartbreaking and sad story. I remember watching Michael Jackson so many years ago on the Ed Sullivan Show when he was part of the Jackson Five. You just had to smile when you saw the raw talent at such a young age. How quickly does this life pass by. It seems like yesterday. A soul is a soul

Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. (Proverbs 27:1)

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
    (Psalms 90:12)

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)

    Be Blessed

    • Thanks Bill.

Your post really touched me yesterday–im glad you let me know the link had been changed so others can read it too.

  11. It’s amazing to me how Christians can divide over the death of a celebrity. I don’t know if Michael Jackson was saved or not – not one single person this side of Heaven living here in the Earth knows either!

I know from personal experience we tend to look at the outside of a house and judge what the inside is like, much the same as those who judge books by their covers. Jackson was particularly disturbing to me because I didn’t like his music for one except for his earliest hits with his brothers and a couple of tunes he did with other rock artists i.e. ‘Beat It’ with Edward Van Halen on guitar (which made the song to me; without him I wouldn’t have gave it a 2nd listen) and a song he did with Sir Paul McCartney, “Say, Say, Say” which wouldn’t have been anything at all without Paul’s input in the writing, production and his singing. But that’s neither here nor there because it’s my opinion which means exactly squat.

Spiritually speaking I can’t recall any great tales of MJ growing up and performing in churches like so many other Black artists I have read about like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and any number of R&B or Motown artists who definitely have a God-bent to their music both in the past and even recently. Suffice it to say I know many artists especially country singers put the token Gospel song on each of their albums just to satisfy the demand for Gospel music from a few of their more religious or Christian fans. Of course it is possible that the ones who do this are ernest in their faith and perhaps their record labels deny them doing more Gospel tunes.

Perhaps MJ did perform in church as a kid and who knows how much of the word he heard and if at all any of it actually stuck to his ribs so to speak. God knows.

So where does this all leave us in the case of the recently departed Michael Jackson? It leaves us precisely where all of us are left at the moment of our departure; guilty of sin and in dire need of God’s grace. For the Christian it’s a matter of as the song goes, “are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?” Those who are indeed Christians are washed in His blood and they are in a continual state of washing for the sins of the day. (we all have them and we all commit them; we are not perfect – only forgiven!) For the unbeliever who is not a professed Christian it is a matter of did they make the change before they died, in which case if they did accept Jesus and His sacrifice for sin they are washed, saved, being absent from the body and present with Him.

Some people don’t believe in death bed conversions, jailhouse religion or battle field salvation. Many fail to see the similarity in these cases and that of the repentant thief on the cross who was crucified with Jesus and another convicted criminal sentanced to die who was unrepentant. If Jesus can save a convicted criminal who had never lived his life for the Lord, yet recognized Him as such and addressing Him so, whose only plea was, “Lord, remember me in your coming kingdom”, (after acknowledging his sinfulness deserving to die etc) how much more can He save someone who is dying of cancer lying in a bed of pain who cries out to Him acknowledging His Lordship (as did the thief) and asking Him for mercy, or one who has found himself dying suddenly who still has enough conscious thought to make the change before the lights go out in Georgia?

The bottom line is we don’t know Michael’s heart. One can only hope that he cried out to Jesus to save him. Jesus did say, “those who call upon my name I will in no wise cast out. All who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!” Religious minded denominationalism has tried to water this down but the facts are Jesus said it and He either meant it or He lied (which He cannot do!) He was mistaken or crazy – neither of which are the case. One pastor of an Assembly of God church in New Mexico told his flock recently during an altar call, “It’s harder for you to join this church than it is to get saved this morning! It’s easier for you to get to heaven than it is to become a member of this church!” He then explained the simplicity of the Gospel to his flock and acknowledged his own denomination placed unbiblical restrictions on acceptance in their church making it more difficult to be accepted to them than did Jesus to be accepted by Him. The religious mind can’t accept anyone coming in to the fold who hasn’t proven themself. One must be a regular church goer and must be a tither and a regular giver into the church. One must walk the walk and talk the talk before we can accept them. If they don’t dress like a Christian, wear their tie and shine their shoes just so and carry their Bible like a Christian or sing in stained glass tones like a Christian they must not be a real Christian! They forget that the thief on the cross was no church attender, nor was he a tither or a giver in offerings, nor did he respond to an altar call or recite the sinner’s prayer.

A lot of Christians can’t wrap their heads around Jesus dying for the sin and sins of ALL men. For someone to intimate that He died for Hitler and Manson and other infamous evil people is hard for them to acknowledge that if they repented and accepted Christ as Lord, they will be in Heaven!

God knows who is saved and who is not. He calls them to Himself. The Bible enumerates all manner of sinners in the world, many of which were some of us before He saved us. We will indeed be surprised at who is there and we will also be very surprised at who is NOT there! Many we think are the worst will make it and many we think are the holiest and most righteous will not. One thing for sure: It won’t be boring!

    Diogenes

    • Sorry to have ‘trimmed’ your comment Diogenes…it was just too long to post!

      🙂

    • Your post was beautiful. Thank you for it. I needed this correction, because I too had deduced that he is in hell. I drew this conclusion based on the fact that he had converted to Islam. One question for you. In a case where one turns to a false religion, how would you justify that persons turning to Christ at the last minute? If I were to convert to Islam, would I not be asserting my confidence in Allah, rather than Jesus Christ? If this be the case, who am I more likely to converse with before I breathe my last breath?

I would really like to get your take on this.

Be blessed and remain strong in our Lord.

  12. I was in a circle meeting the other day and heard this about “what” Paul the Apostle meant and said when he said this:

Php 3:7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
Php 3:8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ
Php 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith–
Php 3:10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
Php 3:11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

At verse nine it does not say “and be found in “sin”, not having a righteousness of my own”, but rather, it says: be found in “Him”. As was said above, we will all die sinners. That’s the truth. What is of utmost importance though is when we die we are found in Him not in our sin!

I believe the basic reason we are “hated” by the worldly people in this world as Christians is because we count our own goodness, righteousness and life’s work as worthless in the eyes of God, Our Creator, both in life and at death. That is not so with the world. While we are discounting ourselves as sinners, worthless failures, who place no confidence in our abilities, the world is selling success, happiness, fortune and fame, something that makes you a winner in the eyes of the world, a better person, a success story to be told and sold to others in life and at death. You are sold the lie that you must be the best and the brightest to succeed! Not so in Biblical Christianity in this world. Jesus came to the least, the lost, the lowest and the losers of the world to make them sit at the diner of Glory forever, both in this life and the next.

We then should remain wise as serpents and harmless as doves in the world as we go about bringing this Gospel of the Kingdom to every creature for a witness so that the end shall then come!

  13. great blog, thanks for all

I regret the loss of the King of Pop Michael Jackson! Jacko is a legend. I hope he gets where he is now, finally in peace.
Leave also your last greeting at Michael Jackson on our site, thanks.
a big and now sad fan

  14. PJ, No worries – I am actually glad that you didn’t post all of my tome.

To be clear it should be noted that Michael Jackson was raised a Jehovah’s Witness and later converted to the Nation of Islam, and more recently, to mainstream Islam. Just what he thought of Jesus at the time of his death and more importantly did he know Christ as Lord and saviour is all important regarding his eternal destiny.

This is really all that separates Christians from the rest of the religious world and what ultimately separates us as lambs and sheep from the goats at the time of Judgement.

To be sure it’s unclear where Jackson stood as it often is with celebrities who live complicated lives filled with ambiguity and contradictions which present murky interpretations of their loyalties. This with a myriad of accusations of criminal activity and a questionable lifetstyle brings pause to the question of idolitry in mourning yet another ‘golden calf’ celebrity.

Christians need to be more careful whom they honor considering God is indeed a jealous God who will not share His glory with anyone. Regardess of how many #1 hitsongs they’ve had, how many times they have preached on the mission field in Africa or even which epistle they are credited with writing in the New Testament. It’s high time Christians kick their pastors and favorite TV preachers off their pedestals, as well as their favorite music artists, book writers, whether secular or Christian or anyone noted in the world or in Christendom.

God is to be honored above all and He alone is due our worship and adoration. As great as Elvis, John Lennon and Michael Jackson were none of them ever hung on a cross to save our souls from an eternity in hell – only the Lord Jesus has done that. For all they accomplished in this life, in this world none of it will be remembered or of any substance unless it was done for Him, in His name and in His will.

We should continually pray for those the world say are among the great, as well as those who among the least. They all need Jesus!

    Jean,

I don’t think we can positively conclude the man is in either place.

There have been rumors for years that he was severely mentally ill–even a member of his family let leak some yrs back he was schizophrenic. Is it true? I don’t know..

Whatever his condition, mentally or spiritually, he’s gone now.

When reading your post i was reminded of an incident which occurred some yrs ago. I had rushed home from work to shower and get ready for our churches monthly ladies meeting, when i received a phone call informing me an ex-brother-law had been found dead that afternoon from an apparent drug overdose.

I was shocked, and deeply disturbed for as far as i knew he had never been saved.

That ‘feeling’ you get when hearing something like this kept lingering, even while i continued to dress for church, when suddenly the Holy Spirit spoke to me:

“Let the dead bury the dead”

I understood. My ex relative was dead–nothing more could be done for him. But i, was still here and alive! The Spirit was reminding me it is better to get on with living then worry over one who no longer can be reached…so we let the dead (spiritually) bury their dead.

  16. There are rumours on the web that Andrae Crouch and Sandra visited him and prayed to Jesus with him and that Michael also requested that they sing it won’t be long. Another preacher Gregory Dickow spoke a word of knowledge on God’s love for Michael Jackson, the greatest father of all on father’s day, Of course there are many more that God gave a burden for Micheal Jackson. The secret things belong to God, our prayers and our faith is that he miraculously received Jesus even if it meant a second before his death. It doesn’t matter what people think and say what matters is what Jesus thinks of him, if he received Jesus in his final second then whatever fame he got in this life is nothing compared to the glory that’s in Jesus.

  17. This is a wake up call for all christians we can’t be complacent and let people perish when Jesus gave up his life for everyone here on earth. We need to preach the word in season and out of season, the world’s blood will be required at the hands of all christians, we can’t continue being complacent, lukewarm, living in the flesh, loving the world, no no the time is now to preach the gospel with power, and with fire and the annointing of the Holy Spirit because he said you shall receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you shall be my witnesses from Judea, Samaria and unto all the ends of the earth.Lord we long for your move, we are thirsty and the world is thirsty for you, we are tired of the moves of men we want to see you in your glory and in your power. Reveal yourself to this world in your awesome glory and your power. Jesus we need you.

  18. Micheal Jackson and Diana Princess of Wales, both were ebraceing
the Muslim faith at the time of their death, if not personally most
certainly information has been made available to suggest they had
individuals in their “inner circles” who were.

are filled and instruted by the spirt as individuals seekING TO KNOW
the personality of the Holy Spirit — at work in lives on the earth

Pay close attention to how you critique a “man of God”. They, like
Moses, are subject to mistakes, even Jesus, a part of the trinity,
while on earth was subject to “like passions”, common to man. Watch
and be patient. The words spoken by men/women who operate in the gifts
are speaking hidden truths which will be revealed. Moses critics died
in the wilderness–and never saw the promise land. MOSES SAW THE PROMISE LAND AFAR OFF. SOME MEN WERE DESTROYED IN ONE DAY FOR BOTHERING MOSES. READ, NUMBERS 16: 28-33, ESPECIALLY, 31, 32, 33. Pleaseing man CAN GET A,” MAN OF GOD IN TROUBLE!”
is the down fall of the “individual used by God”. sAYING WHAT OTHERS
EXPECT IS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE TO GODS WAYS! lOOK FOR MORE AND MORE

Many LEADERS sell their “souls”– AND SEEK EVERY THING BUT THE ONE AND TRUE LIVING GOD. THEIR EYES ARE BLINDED BY EVERYTHING BUT THE
SIMPLE JOY AND FREE ACCESS TO THE MIND OF GOD! THEY
“die” due to offense, unforgiveness to those who have wrong them,
basically for “lack of knowledge.” God’s word tells us “. . .
people perish for lack of knowledge. . .”

Knowledge on how to ” overcome the evil attack of the enemey. . .”
is an individual decision –to choose life! Jesus says, “I am the
way, the truth and the life–no man comes to the father, but by me..”
There is “no other way”, to God but through, his son, “Jesus”!

Putting trust in childhood cartoon characters,or other religous icons,

    LIVING GOD!

Absolom is the son of David, God promised David, GOD WOULD NOT FAIL TO HAVE A MAN ON THE THRONE-
“his man”, the one he choses. God chose
Solomon with all his mistakes with the love for strange women and their worship of idols. Solomon was trained from childhood, to seek
God when ONE IS DEPRESSED/STRESSED. “Seek God when you make mistakes–don’t wait on a high priest–“Go boldly to God’s throne when mistakes are made and one needs direction”. When your strength is “small”,”wait”. IF YOU ARE UNDER AN AVALANCE ,DEVELOP RELATIONSHIP
WITH GOD, NO MATTER HOW NEW A BELIVER YOU ARE.GOD WILL BRING RESCUE
WHERE EVER YOU ARE LOCATED. FRIEND OR RESCUE EFFORTS CAN’T FIND YOU,
LIKE YOU CAN PRAY AND DELIVER ONES SELF. DEVELOP SPIRITUAL FITNESS- DEFENSE AGAINST THE DAY OF TROUBLE!

TALK TO GOD EACH MORNING AND THROUGHOUT THE DAY! DAVID SAYS, “I
WILL NOT GIVE MY EYES TO SLUMBER TILL I SPEAK TO GOD. IN ANOTHER

DIRECTION FROM THE “LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL GUIDE YOU
AROUND SATAN’S BEST LAID TRAPS! I QUOTE A GREAT MINISTER AS SAYING,

    LIVE ETERNALLY!

what does false prophet Kim Clement have to do with the death of Michael Jackson? 😉

  19. MICHAEL THE NARC-ANGEL

Millions of little members of the worldwide F.F.A. (Future Followers of the Antichrist) have finally learned how to find a certain part of their lower anatomy and quickly touch it while dancing – thanks to Michael Jackson, the highest paid Lower Anatomy Toucher of all time! Special thanks also go to the Jesus-bashing, Hell-bound Hollywood moguls who were just as quick to see higher profits in lower anatomies! [Just saw this opinion on the web. Other grabby items on MSN, Google, etc. include “Separation of Raunch and State,” “David Letterman’s Hate, Etc.,” “Tribulation Index becomes Rapture Index,” and “Bible Verses Obama Avoids.” – something for everyone!]
