Rick Wiles Pleads for $1 Million to Launch 24 Hour Christian Patriotic News Network

If you’re acquainted with Rick Wiles and TruNews Christian Radio, you might find this of interest. Personally I find it disgusting. An internet ‘Christian’ radio station attempting to manipulate the elderly by using fear tactics, makes me sick. This guy is not only promoting the false  ‘Patriot Christian movement’, he’s a wolf…

Posted by Steve Lumbley at Apostasy Watch: Rick Wiles Pleads for $1 Million to Launch 24 Hour Christian Patriotic News Network

Fresh off his controversial defense of an as yet unrealized Florida tent church project, Rick Wiles on Monday announced an urgent need for $1 million that would allow him to fulfill his dream of a 24 hour Christian news network to compete head to head with CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. Wiles specifically targeted wealthy elderly listeners telling them that they should consider sending him a large donation before they pass away in order to help save the country from a communist takeover:

“Actually guys our dream, our vision is to create a 24 hour Christian news network on the level of Fox News, CNN and MSNBC, (guest : `sounds great`) and I mean go head to head with these guys, (guest: `we’d love to help`) and that’s our dream, that’s our vision”

“Somebody out there is sitting on a lot of money. There`s somebody, I just believe this, I believe there’s somebody, and you’re getting up in years, and you might be in your 80’s or 90’s and you’re sitting on a nest egg of millions of dollars, and hmm and you need to look at what’s happened to our country. You’re getting closer & closer to going home to be with the Lord & you’re going to leave behind a country that has been turned into a Communist hell hole, and hmm and you’ve got the opportunity whoever you are, you’ve got the opportunity to do something.”

“A million dollars – a million dollars would give us the money that we need to launch this type of a network, and it could be done” – (Trunews broadcast for Monday 8-17-09, 45.58 – 47. 03 minutes)

Wiles emphasized the urgency of his plea again near the end of the broadcast:

“We better begin pouring our wealth and our resources into a movement immediately or its over – it’s over – it’s finished – it’s done. Your children, your grandchildren will live in a Communist hell hole and that’s where we’re at right now.”

“And if somebody is listening to me right now and whether you’re up in your years or not, but if you…. if you are a patriot of the level of George Washington and the founding fathers and you have it in your resources that you could give a million dollars, then do it – do it – it has to be done. This is life and death for the United States of America, and we need…. this ministry, Trunews with one million dollars we could launch a 24 hour Christian patriotic news network that would challenge the lies and the deceptions of the Obama communists….” (Trunews broadcast for Monday 8-17-09, 51.01 – 51.59 minutes)

  1. I’d never heard of Rick Wiles before reading this – after taking a look at the linked report and Wiles’ web site, he ain’t one I would listen to. “Wolf Alert” seems to be on target.

However – I do agree with his political assessment of the US of A, though I don’t know if communism is bad enough to be compared to hell. It is a real and present danger (to coin a movie title) and patriotic citizens of this earthly realm should not go quietly into that dismal future.

As a backdrop, we must be about proclaiming the gospel of Christ to all who put their faith in earthly things.

  2. I listened to Rick Wiles several years ago on the radio for a short time, but I always listened with discernment because I did not know who he was. I kind of found him by accident by turning the dial. Then for some reason I wasn’t able to find his program anymore. Recently I found it again on the internet. In one segment he spoke about a mantle being passed on to him from his uncle. It was supposed to be some sort of a “patriotic” mantel. Didn’t hear about a “gospel” mantle. That was it for me. I was kind of surprised though because the few times we listened to his program we didn’t hear that kind of thing. But this time it was loud and clear.

    • It was supposed to be some sort of a “patriotic” mantel.

Good grief. So God’s passing out ‘patriotic mantels’ now.

Just when i think i’ve heard it all.

That was it for me. I was kind of surprised though because the few times we listened to his program we didn’t hear that kind of thing. But this time it was loud and clear.

He’s caught the crazy bug–it seems to be running wild through out the Church today. The disease is spreading.

  3. This man is no brother.

This is not his first filching of believers’ money or attempt to do so.

He is a chronic liar, who refuses financial accountabilty to those who have a legal right to know (contributors).

And the world does not need a ‘christian’ news network in the least. It needs Christ and Him crucified.

Elder brothers and elder sisters: give your money to the poor as your Master commanded you. Don’t waste it on filthy, carnal projects that are not Christ-centered but man-centered. This wolf needs to get a job and to stop pillaging from naive people.

    • the world does not need a ‘christian’ news network in the least. It needs Christ and Him crucified.

      Amen!

  4. A Christian patriotic news network.

    Just what the world needs.

Antithetical to the Church, of course, but just what the world needs, I guess. I’m sure it will be popular with people who spell God “G-O-P.”

  5. When considering this post along with the last post (“Honoring God’s anointed fallen?”), I’m struck by the thought that most mainstream Christians in the US have no problem with railing against political leaders who don’t fit the mold we want them to, but many of the same folks won’t tolerate a word spoken against false spiritual shepherds who prey on the flock. This is the opposite of what we see in the Bible.

The early Church took up very little, if anything at all, in the way of political causes. We don’t see Peter, John, Paul, and other NT writers railing against the political leaders of their day, or inciting their followers to combat state policies. They even welcomed persecution with open arms, for it had been promised to them by Jesus Himself. Granted, they didn’t live in a democracy, but somehow I don’t think they would have spent their energy extolling the virtues of democracy if they did.

On the other hand, some of the hardest lines in the Bible were reserved for false prophets and other spiritual deceivers. See Jeremiah 23, Matthew 23, II Peter, and Jude for starters, and there’s a lot more of that type of language in Scripture.

No, the true body of Christ in the US will do just fine without Rick Wiles on the air, and we don’t need the backing of a “Christian government” to carry on in the work of the Lord anymore than the early Church did.

      Its interesting isn’t it…

It also shows what their focus is on, and its sure not on the Church.

  6. He only needs 1 million to fight against a billion dollar army? Seems to be a low number.

  7. I would assume you all know that he asked for $250,000.00 on March 12 for a tent project he called Americas Hope. It was stated that the tent would take 6 weeks to make, and that the tent would go up end May or early June.
What month are we now in?
    Oh yes it is September.
No sign yet of that tent.
He now claims it will go up in October-November.
    Believe him?
    My choice, I dont.

  8. Dear Sir:
Could this Rick Wiles be the same fellow who was
always on the Art Bell show who told listeners the computers would go down on the year 2000 as they were not programed to turn over to the year 2000 and when a listener called and said: “I spent $10,000 to buy survival gear, food generators, clothing, guns and so on, what am I supposed to do with it all now that nothing has happened?
His flippant saracstic remark was to save it for another emergency?
People like him are leading us suckers who listen to him and guys like George Norry of Coast Coast by the nose and making themselves rich and the selling of the outrageously priced gold that they sell.

  9. Strange that I came across this site when I just received a warning against dealing with Rick Wiles and his wife. They collected loads of money for poor children in Africa, but didn’t give it to the chilren. See more here:

    • Thanks for posting the link to Mountain Ministries. I’m listening to Dr. Igor Shafhid’s messages on False Prophets – a MUST HEAR message for Americans.

  10. You know , i used to listen to him, and found him to be a false guy, he got all that money and still has not had a tent revival,, I knew then he was a liar and just wanted peoples money, shame on him he better enjoy it here on earth,…PEOPLE DON’T SEND HIM ANY MONEY, all he teaches is hate for our country….. not love from Jesus and God ……

  11. Ugh. Another fear monger.

Look. I’m a Christian and I hate how this guy is such a judgmental, cynical guy who thrives on spreading fear and falsehoods to get people to believe in him. A wolf in sheep’s clothing, that’s for sure.

  12. I hope the guy does come up with the money! We need someone to broadcast the truth! Wiles is the guy for the job. I’ve listened to him for years and I pray that he’s on tv someday!!

Reply OH come on already, he belongs on tv like the tv pimps that try to get everyones money, OPEN YOUR EYES, do what Jesus said, Try the spirits, test them,, all are not of God, and Rick and his wife sure ain’t of God….

    • Rick isn’t perfect, but I believe that he is called by God to warn of the things that are coming on the earth. I’ve learned a lot from listening to him over the last 3 years.

  13. Rick raised money about 10 years ago to start a 24 hour station to compete with Fox, CNN and the others. His shortwave listeners bought him a studio and all of his camera equipment. He left short wave and appeared on one of the cable christian shows and then he disappeared. Now he is back on shortwave raising the money to do it all over again. What happened to the equipment he had. If my memory serves me correctly, ( I could be wrong ), he raised $250,000.

  14. There’s a lot of lies in these posts. First of all, Rick does not own a house in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was renting the home because he could not afford to buy one. He never raised the money for a TV show 10 years ago. He produced a show in his garage with a TV in the background. The whole setup cost less than $5,000. And the comment about taking money for Orphans in Africa and then keeping the money was started by a man who later came out and admitted that he lied. His name is Benson Komansi, who was the manager of the orphange. Igor Shafid, the other man who was mentioned, had taken his website offline because it was a lie. I suggest you hold onto those stones and think about it before you throw them.

For those of you who have stumbled across this site and read these comments, I can only tell you that Rick Wiles has done more to feed orphans, preach the gospel and build homes for the homeless than all the people on this forum combined.

  15. Rick Wiles right Alongside with Nathan Leal, the Pair of them are Wolves, both asking for Money, an not Trusting in God.

  16. It is really difficult and pointless to argue with fanatics especially if they happen to be ignorant as is the case with Wiles. Fanatics don’t hold ideas, they are held by them. Ultimately, these people bring shame to themselves and to the great religion they claim to represent.

  17. I heard Rick Wiles show today (Jan 25 2012), he’s begging for money on this
show too. I didn’t like the tone of it, so I searched on google the phrase rick wiles
begging for money and found this site (and other sites too). My gut feeling must
have been right. Something smells rotten about it.

  18. I listen to this guy a year ago i like him bcuz he reminds me of the prophets of the Old testament like jeremiah etc… but i am not agree to his plan about christian tv network bcuz its very expensive..i think its better for him to continue his radio program….

  19. dodong – The issue is not whether a man reminds you of a prophet. The issue is whether or not he preaches the Word of God. An elder in a church must preach and proclaim the whole counsel of God’s Word, not simply cry for money or stir up folk with “prophecies”.

  20. Thanks, pj. Been busy – studying the Word, in training for possible service in my church as an elder. Been blessed to preach a few times. Overwhelmed and in awe of our God – less than I should be, more than I used to be.

  21. Rick Wiles (aka Wiley E. Christian) is the worst pseudo Christian out there. His smug, mocking and condescending comments about Christians with eschatological views contrary to his own, his arrogance and preoccupation with taking donations to build his budding real estate empire is outrageous, and claims that he receives “secret” revelations from God are over the top.

This guy is the biggest jackass on the internet and I’m surprised anyone gives him money.

  22. I’ve listened to Mr. Wiles on shortwave from time to time. I find his radio shows totally depressing with a distortion of facts. He claims to be the only authentic unbiased news source. Even though he has “so called” expert guests on his show to discuss various topics, they always have an extreme negative doomsday philosophy which Mr. Wiles exasperates with his own comments. It’s as if the world is coming to an end and Mr. Wiles says “I told you so”. His radio shows are in poor taste and do not reflect the teachings of Jesus.

  23. Reblogged this on Alexander Backman and commented:
The Rick Wiles Wolf Machine is just asking for more. He just received 90k for Iraqi and Syrian refugees but just gave half to the Iraqi Christian Relief Council. He kept the other half for his supposed multimillion dollar ministry which in itself is a sham. The IRS are on to him and he might even jump ship to Ecuador, his Plan B.

  24. I wrote a piece on Wiles, Quayle and other of these money peddlers and swindlers like LA Marzulli. http://alexanderbackman.com/steve_quayle_tom_horn_rick_wiles_deception.htm
