Isaiah’s Vision- God’s Holiness

In the Presence of God’s Holiness

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.* See Isaiah 6John 12:34-41Ezekiel 10Acts 9:4

  1. Exactly what the world is missing and what the world needs — THE FEAR OF THE LORD. My fervent prayer…effectual, I pray, daily for the fear of the Lord to come upon all of us…

Praise Yahweh and Bless His Holy Name.

  2. Exactly what the world is missing and what the world needs — THE FEAR OF THE LORD.

    Amen Geri..

  3. Recently heard a song by Bebo Norman “My Eyes Have Seen Holy” – think of this passage every time I hear it, and I can’t seem to listen to it enough times.

Also heard a sermon preached this week – and it was on the holiness of God – using this passage. Very moving, convicting message, but it never got to the part where God purifies the lips, and takes the iniquity away. Unless this is part of the message, you leave people without hope. Important to keep all of God’s attributes in focus. Some seem to tell only of his love and grace, others of his holiness and wrath. We need to speak the WHOLE story.
