A Personal Note…

The past couple days I’ve not been able to post due to tests being run at the local hospital. The pain in my back and left leg had grown severe over the last 2 months so it was time to see a specialist, who ordered the tests. I was told today its a disc protrusion and something I can’t even pronounce (Spondylolisthesis).  In 2 weeks the doctor and I will discuss surgery. In the meantime I’d like to ask to be remembered in prayer. The idea of back surgery frankly has me concerned, but I know God is able to give me peace over the matter if its the only option…

Thanks brothers and sisters

  1. pj I will pray for you – that pain would cease and for courage and peace should an operation be required. Keep us informed.

  2. Dearest Jaunita, may the peace that passes understanding be yours at this time and it is an honor and joy to lift your sweet name up to our Lord Jesus.
We are not promised avoidance of trials and tribulations but we ARE promised that He will never leave or forsake us and is a very present help in trouble.
Be blessed and secure in Him sister, and know you are much loved by us all.
Please keep us informed of progress, so we can pray effectively.

  3. May God give you peace and comfort through this time. May God receive glory through this trial. Be submissive and surrendered to His will and plan for you and regard this time of suffering as an opportunity to serve Him rather than a crisis to worry.

  4. PJ, I’m so glad you shared openly about these health concerns. I will remember you in prayer concerning these things. God bless you.

  5. That sound scary. I will keep you and physicians in my prayers. I wish you all the best and great recovery after surgery. I suspect your blogging will take a break soon. Rest very well.

  6. May the King keep you under His wings, I’ll join the others here and pray for your wellbeing.

  7. Thank you all sooo much. Your prayers are GREATLY appreciated!

All kinds of fearful possibilities run through your mind (like paralysis) with spinal/back surgery. Frankly, at least one or more of you must of prayed last night for that fear is gone today!🙂

    I’ll be keeping you updated.

    God bless you all…

  8. We are keeping you in prayer PJ.

Just recently this verse encouraged me against fear …

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe.

    Abundant blessings,

    • Cathy your prayers are much appreciated as is the verse you posted. Amen! The name of the Lord is our strong tower!

  9. Prayers to you PJ from all of us at AW

    • Thank you Steve.

I actually thought i recalled you had a similar situation…was i right or was it someone else?

  10. Barry over at Wanderings of a Post Modern Pilgrim just had back surgery.
He is doing well, less invasive, shorter hospital stay than even a few years ago – it’s a major decision PJ, will be praying for you and your doctor.

    • Thanks Bene. I’m glad to hear a fellow back sufferer (and Christian!) came through surgery with flying colors!🙂

less invasive, shorter hospital stay than even a few years ago

Music from Broken Chords

Down in the human heart, crush'd by the tempter, Feelings lie buried that grace can restore; Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness Chords that were broken will vibrate once more. From the Hymn "Rescue the Perishing" by Fanny J. Crosby
