Rick Joyner: West Coast is Doomed

What gets me about these folks is this: The odds are when they keep “prophesying” an earthquake year after year, after year, (especially in an area already known for earthquakes..case in point, the New Madrid Fault Line) if or when one occurs, their followers will swear they were right and a true prophet of God.

Rick Joyner is doubling down on his claims that an earthquake will soon bring ruin to the west coast, writing in an email today that the New Madrid Fault Line will also rupture. Joyner, the head of MorningStar Ministries and the Oak Initiative, said that America’s policy towards Israel is responsible for “natural disasters that have struck our country.” He has already warned people “to get out of” California because America has “fallen to some of the ultimate depravity that a nation could fall into,” and said that the recent earthquake in Japan will lead to a demonic, Nazi takeover of the United States. (* good grief, what a nut!)

  1. He is a nut with a capitol ‘N’.

  2. From what I understand, Rick Joyner hangs a lot of this rhetoric on a prophecy that Bob Jones allegedly gave about 23 years ago. I say “allegedly” because I’ve never seen any transcript of that prophecy, although Rick Joyner was hinting last year that he would try to produce it (it was buried deep in the archives, he said).

Way back in 1998 (about 14 years ago), Bob Jones was already urging people to leave Southern California because that great earthquake was soon to come:

Then last March (about 11 months ago), Bob Jones seemed to imply that “the big day” was to come within 6 months:

This was in tandem with Rick Joyner’s warnings at that same time (March 2011) that the devastating earthquake in Japan was a precursor to the impending destruction of California:

I’m so in favor of a more hopeful eschatology than these guys are pandering.

    • Thanks for the links Adam, lots of good information!

I’m so in favor of a more hopeful eschatology than these guys are pandering.

Hope and faith in Christ is something you rarely (if ever) hear these folks speaking about. Probably because their end-time agenda is based upon an unbiblical plan to take over the world through secular means. Their faith is in themselves and what THEY can do…

  3. The poor west coast. I guess sin will have to move eastward. God already punished New Orleans so its time for some place else.

Perhaps Joyner can get together with Camping and they can form a prophecy club.

  4. The ONLY ones who are “doomed” are those who follow after these witches. The west coast has been through numerous earthquakes just like the east coast has had its share of hurricanes and the mid-west lives with tornadoes. With all of the other disasters occurring commonly in the world, this fascination with west coast earthquakes is bizarre and quacky. But I suppose it puts coins in the bags from the lemmings.

  5. It is an odd thing reading that in light of this: Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Rom 15:20 and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation,
Rom 15:21 but as it is written, “Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.”
Rom 15:22 This is the reason why I have so often been hindered from coming to you.
Rom 15:23 But now, since I no longer have any room for work in these regions, and since I have longed for many years to come to you,
Rom 15:24 I hope to see you in passing as I go to Spain, and to be helped on my journey there by you, once I have enjoyed your company for a while.

The two are just contrary to one another’s view. Christ is sending us into the trouble and Rick Joyner is asking us to flee it!

Could it be there are two conflicting agendas at work here? 🙂

I live in California and from my own personal experience I can attest to the fact that many many people do not even have the foggiest idea what it means to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, to live for the Glory of God, Our Heavenly Father in the power of the Holy Spirit!

Do you suppose the Holy Spirit is the same one leading Rick Joyner? Nah!

  6. I am inclined to repeat what Dorothy asked the scarecrow.

“If you don’t have a brain how can you talk?”

“I don’t know. But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don’t

And I thought the Wizard of Oz was fiction!

  7. If you have this insight and dominion why not use it to bind this event from occurring and stop it-

If God is still destroying coasts and cities and regions thru earthquakes and floods I guess Jesus wasn’t the propitiation for sin.

    • “If God is still destroying coasts and cities and regions thru earthquakes and floods I guess Jesus wasn’t the propitiation for sin.”

      Wow! Great point!

  8. Start here, and then proceed to a trusting, Word Based ministry.

West Coast is doomed? Somebody is.

    • Thomas,

I think you shared this video before in here or PJ has or I saw it somewhere else?

In any event, after watching it this time something came to me to not do, in a sense?

At one point the exhortation is to “pray” “for” these people.

I am not now convinced that is what we should do?

What do you think? When I looked at several verses, John’s Gospel, chapter 17, Ephesians 6 and 1 Timothy 2, I got an entirely different idea about this group and groups like it.

For instance, I believe we both agree there is a strong delusion among them? Who gave them over to it?

For instance, Jesus Himself prayed that He was not praying for the world but only for those the Father had given to Him out of the world, those who knew who He was.

For instance, when you consider just what it is Paul is exhorting at 1 Timothy 2, I, at least, come away with an entirely different conclusion when we are exhort to “pray” for all people. My conclusion is when I pray for these people, I am praying that I would not be “touched” or influenced by them so much that the quiet and peaceful nature of the Life of Christ in me is disturbed or attacked.

Of the many other places I am thinking about where prayer is a portion of or the entire part of the Scriptures intent, I cannot say, now, that it is as this video is asking of me to do, that is pray for these people?

What am I to pray for when praying for these people, then?

  9. I watched it and got creeped out. Jesus said, ‘Go and teach them to observe all that I have taught you.”

When did we see this kind of nonsense in the Gospels?

When he screamed, ‘those of you who have been touched by the fire’, I wanted to warn, STRANGE FIRE!

This strange fire is something the Lord did not authorise and prophets like these are to be strung up by their neckties! (in the days of old, false prophets were hung)

  10. a News – “Russian Military Warns Of Potential Catastrophic Quake On US West Coast”

An interesting Ministry of Defence (MOD) “urgent bulletin” being sent to all Russian naval forces operating in the Pacific Ocean region is warning that there is a “moderate to high” likelihood of a “significant seismic event” ready to occur on the North American Plate, particularly on the Western coastal regions of The United States, Canada or Mexico.

According to this bulletin, Russian military scientists have become increasingly concerned over the past fortnight of the events occurring with the Arctic Oscillation (AO) which has plunged nearly the entire Northern Hemisphere into harsh cold conditions and which Western scientists are blaming on melting sea ice which, they report, hit a record low this past autumn.

Of greatest concern, this bulletin continues, is the massive anticyclone that has formed over Greenland bringing to our planet the highest barometric pressure ever recorded in human history, and which American scientists warned last year would intensify.

American scientists this past week confirmed their Russian counterparts findings, and as we can read, in part, as reported by the Washington Post News Service in their article titled Record Blocking Patterns Fueling Extreme Weather which says:

“A near-record low value of the Arctic Oscillation– the climate index that measures the difference in relative pressure between the Arctic and mid-latitudes – is partly responsible for the unseasonable chill. Just how low has the AO tanked? The AO index plummeted to -5.6 on Wednesday, a historically low value.

One more remarkable aspect of this major league block: observations over Greenland are threatening to break the worldwide record for highest barometric pressure of 1083.3 mb, set on Dec. 31, 1968 in Siberia.”

Most ominous, however, in this bulletin is its blaming this massive anticyclone for the 20 March earthquake swarm occurring under it on the Reykjanes Ridge portion of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR).

Russian military scientists say in this bulletin that the earthquakes being caused by this massive anticyclone are destabilizing the Eurasian and North American Plates causing a sort of “chain reaction effect” which will ultimately manifest in the rupturing of the Pacific Plate.

As evidence of this potentially catastrophic earthquake event occurring, this bulletin continues, Russian scientists point to the 26 March 5.8 magnitude quake that struck Oaxaca, Mexico, and which they claim “exactly correlates” with their previous findings on the causes and effects of weather pressure induced seismic events.

Virtually unknown to the vast numbers of Westerners are the numerous studies, and their findings, lending credence to Russian research on weather related seismic events, and as we can read as reported by the New York Times News Service in their article titled How Storms Can Trigger Earthquakes which, in part, says:

“Scientists are increasingly pointing to storms as a trigger for earthquakes and mudslides. That’s raising questions about the effects that climate change might have on one of the world’s deadliest natural catastrophes, and to what extent, if any, insurers and governments could be adapting to the interplay between atmosphere and earth.

So far, those answers are as mysterious as the timing of earthquakes, a question that has baffled humans — and killed them — for generations. But recent findings suggest that some linkage exists to increasingly powerful storms.

New evidence shows that atmospheric low pressure systems can prompt the landslide to lurch downward. Pressure drops when warm daytime air results in low “tides,” or when fast-moving storms race onto the scene. The effect on landslides and earthquakes only occurs when the pressure plummets suddenly, causing underground water and air to shoot toward the surface.

That reduces friction between grinding subterranean plates, or under a landslide that’s been held immobile by abrasive dirt and rocks.

“Slides, earthquakes, glaciers, volcanic eruptions — all of these things involve soil sliding on soil, or rock sliding on rock,” explains William Schulz, a research scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey and the author of a study published this month in the journal Nature Geoscience. “And sliding is resisted primarily by one thing, and that’s friction.”

The same conclusion was reached by scientists in Taiwan this June. A study published in the journal Nature described how low pressure accompanying typhoons sparked small earthquakes along the fault between the Philippine Sea Plate and the Eurasian Plate. The scientists note that they make “a definitive connection between fault slip and changes in atmospheric pressure.”

Importantly, both studies say weather impacts can accelerate an earthly act that was bound to happen sooner or later. In other words, low pressure is not the cause of an earthquake, just the trigger.”

To if this massive and historical anticyclone over Greenland will, indeed, prove to be such a seismic “trigger” the Russian Navy is warning about in this bulletin it is not in our knowing…other than to note that anyone living in such an area should always be prepared for the worst happening in any event.
