Christian Dominionists Go Gingrich

This is interesting;

Four days after Newt Gingrich scrambled the Republican primary race with his surprise South Carolina win, a man named Dutch Sheets came forward to endorse the former House speaker, saying he was the only candidate with the “heart, experience, backbone, Constitutional brilliance and intellectual strength to defeat Obama and lead America back to greatness.”

It was the kind of embrace that tends to make politicians skittish. After all, Sheets is a self-proclaimed apostle and a leading figure in a radical Christian movement, known as the New Apostolic Reformation, which teaches that Christians must infiltrate and take control of government and other worldly institutions to pave the way for Jesus’ return. And that’s just the beginning. Sheets also believes, among other things, that his prayers led directly to Saddam Hussein’s capture and that Washington is controlled by “antichrist” forces. As for Barack Obama, Sheets insists that he is Muslim and that his presence in the Oval Office is a sign that God has “turned us over to our enemies” as part of his “judgment on America.” His ultimate goal is to “raise up” an army of “kingdom warriors that are ready to do whatever it takes to bring forth [God’s] kingdom rule in the earth.”

…Gingrich has appointed Sheets co-chair of his Faith Leaders Coalition, the group charged with rallying the faithful behind his candidacy, and has been appearing with Sheets’s fellow apostles at events across the country—part of wide-ranging effort to forge ties with Dominionist leaders who believe America was founded as a Christian nation and that our government should be rooted in biblical law.

…Gingrich—a onetime Southern Baptist turned devoted Catholic—has forged deep inroads with conservative Christians, particularly those who want our government to be infused with Biblical principles. In his 2006 book, Rediscovering God In America: Reflections on the Role of Faith in Our Nation’s History and Future, Gingrich made the case that our founders never intended church to be separated from state and that “the secular left has been inventing law and grotesquely distorting the Constitution” to push faith from government and the public square.  Continued here

  1. Everyone’s a prophet. Everyone’s a seer. Everyone’s an apostle. Everyone is a dominionist. Yawn, yawn. I wonder why there are not a large group who consider themselves “unworthy servants”?

Lk.17:7 “Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’? 8 Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’? 9 Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? 10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”

True Christianity grows more and more scarce.

    • True Christianity grows more and more scarce

      Yes, you’re right.

But God has a remnant brother..One that strives daily to stay true to the faith. Praise the Lord!

  2. Yes, true Christianity is scarce. More and more apostasy.
Deception is loud and clear, people attempting to make another Tower of Babel to make a Name for themselves😦

    • Kelli i agree, deception is extremely loud and clear today. I think its part of satan’s plan to have it so, so as to weary and wear out the saints.

  3. >>>But God has a remnant brother<<< That is right pj and the concerning fact to me is that when God's wrath wreaked judgement with the flood, the remnant was a mere EIGHT. Luke 17: 26 says 'just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man'.
Now I'm not suggesting there will only be eight in the final showdown (hope not cos I'm sure there are eight more worthy than I)😉 but in proportion, a remnant is a very small amount. Scary enough to provoke one's attention methinks.

  4. considering their amazing prophetic powers the New Apostolic Reformation have been very fickle when choosing who to support but Rick Joyner has a surprising proposition:

    • Thanks Jan!

Amen. Joyner and his crew have been fickle. They seem to be hitching their wagon to first one candidate and them another. Aha!!

  5. PJ
False teachers are in the church and motivating believers through the political system to transform the world, To get believers occupied with the things of this world when we are to be transformed by the renewing of our mind and growing in the grace and knowledge of Our Lord Jesus. God will add to the church, not us.
We preach to the non-believer and the teachings are for the believer.
Of course, within the assemblies of people, not all are born again of His Spirit. There must be divisions in the church to manifest who is of Him and who is not. 1 Corinthians 11:19
Our Lord God is guarding and keeping us PJ.
It grieves me to see those who are being deceived but the question is, are they wanting the Truth that will set them free?

    • It grieves me to see those who are being deceived but the question is, are they wanting the Truth that will set them free?

Kelli i’ve wondered about that. I remember back during the Lakeland revival fiasco, posting in reply to those who argued it was a true move of God, scripture after scripture showing in the Word that it wasn’t. The scriptures posted would be consistently ignored. They wouldn’t be responded to or even acknowledged. At first it totally baffled me but after awhile my conclusion was those defending Bentley and what was transpiring at Lakeland did not want to ‘see’ the truth, or were in such bondage they no longer had the ability to see it. Deception is a seducing spirit.

“The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils…” 1Tim. 4

Those taken captive by seducing spirits need a lot of prayer.

  6. Some sense came to me this morning as I was walking along listening to my audio Bible and 1 Samuel. In there Samuel’s heart is heartbroken because the children of God want a “king”!

    Why?

Because they have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ giving way to their fallen nature to have a voice they can hear, a person they can see and touch and a purpose on earth!

1Sa 8:4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah
1Sa 8:5 and said to him, “Behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations.”
1Sa 8:6 But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” And Samuel prayed to the LORD.
1Sa 8:7 And the LORD said to Samuel, “Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them.

Apparently, they did not get this memo:

“Heb 1:1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. …”.

    • Amen Michael.

    • “For Israel has turned away from good things; They have pursued an enemy. They made kings for themselves, but not by Me. They have ruled, but they did not make it known to Me. They made idols for themselves with silver and gold that they might be utterly destroyed.” Hosea 8.3&4 SAAS

  7. Yes PJ, we are seeing many apostatizing from the faith. So that is evidence there were never of the faith as it given by God and a fruit of His Spirit.

  8. The verse you quoted is a VERY TELLING verse Pj, along with many others like it.

“The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils…” 1Tim. 4

Indeed, if you never had something to begin with you cannot depart from it.
For example: when I board my flight to depart from our stint in Brazil, I actually had to BE IN Brazil to depart…….Some (not all) of these false teachers started out as true, spirit filled believers but have now been seduced big time by the enemy, and spreading.

    • Sylvia,
In the parable of the sower, only 1 out of the 4 types of ground (hearts) is saved. The 3 other
types were professing at one time but fell away. So the 3 types of grounds (hearts)
      were never of the faith.
Faith is a fruit of Him. Galatians 5:22

  9. Those who depart from the faith are departing from the persuasion of the Lord, and giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. They are not wanting the Truth.

Music from Broken Chords

Down in the human heart, crush'd by the tempter, Feelings lie buried that grace can restore; Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness Chords that were broken will vibrate once more. From the Hymn "Rescue the Perishing" by Fanny J. Crosby
