Eagle Forum mourns Census Bureau report

Last evening I saw the latest report from the Census Bureau (White births are no longer a majority in the United States) and wondered not what the response would be from certain conservative groups, but who would be among the first responders.  Roger Schlafly, son of Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly and brother of Andrew Schlafly, founder of the warped website Conservapedia, that continues to “edit” the bible of any words or terms which they consider liberal, wins the Cupie Doll:

“It is not a good thing,” Schlafly said, warning that “immigrants do not share American values” and therefore “will not be voting Republican when they start voting in large numbers.”  He went on to claim that “NY Times liberals seek to destroy the American family of the 1950s,” saying that immigrants “do not share” American values like working hard and self-sufficiency, and instead “will vote Democrat when the Democrats promise them more food stamps.”  (RWW)

For decades, the NY Times has been promoting immigration policies that heavily favored a huge influx of non-whites. Today’s lead story brags: WASHINGTON — After years of speculation, estimates and projections, the Census Bureau has made it official: White births are no longer a majority in the United States. Non-Hispanic whites accounted for 49.6 percent of all births in the 12-month period that ended last July, according to Census Bureau data made public on Thursday, while minorities — including Hispanics, blacks, Asians and those of mixed race — reached 50.4 percent, representing a majority for the first time in the country’s history.

The article goes on to quote experts who say that this is a wonderful thing, except for the facts that the Hispanic immigrants are uneducated and do not vote Democrat often enough. It is not a good thing. The immigrants do not share American values, so it is a good bet that they will not be voting Republican when they start voting in large numbers. Latinos, on the other hand, are squarely within their peak fertility, with a median age of 27, said Jeffrey Passel, senior demographer at the Pew Hispanic Center. Between 2000 and 2010, there were more Hispanic births in the United States than there were arriving Hispanic immigrants, he said. The result is striking: Minorities accounted for 92 percent of the nation’s population growth in the decade that ended in 2010,

Mr. Frey calculated, a surge that has created a very different looking America from the one of the 1950s, when the TV characters Ozzie and Harriet were a national archetype. The NY Times liberals seek to destroy the American family of the 1950s, as symbolized by Ozzie and Harriet. The TV characters were happy, self-sufficient, autonomous, law-abiding, honorable, patriotic, hard-working, and otherwise embodied qualities that made America great. In other words, the show promoted values that NY Times liberals despise. Instead, the USA is being transformed by immigrants who do not share those values, and who have high rates of illiteracy, illegitimacy, and gang crime, and they will vote Democrat when the Democrats promise them more food stamps.

  1. Deut 28:15 & 43-45
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: …..

The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway: ….

The stranger that [is] within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low. He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail. Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

  2. In this regard, they should be rejoicing. The fact that liberals are refraining from having children (or aborting them) means that the conservatives will outnumber them in no time. (Of course it doesn’t seem to work that way in practice, since conservatives have shown themselves very proficient in turning their own children into liberals. It is absolutely amazing how many home schooled children who attend fine (and I mean that as a complement and not that sarcastically) conservative Christian schools end up totally turned of on the conservative agenda (and tragically, many times turned off on God as well). There is a reason why conservative Christians are losing their children in droves. It is because of their stubborn fanaticism on and politicization of a handful of issues that defaces their otherwise commendable and biblical world view. It is the poison that is destroying the whole conservative Christian movement. The world labels it as “the religious right”.

    • George, i agree. This is why i honestly believe the so-called religious right has done horrible damage to the Gospel message. They are just beginning to reap what they have sowed.

  3. Hi PJ,

It’s interesting to hear Schlafly try to justify an anti-immigrant stance by declaring that immigrants don’t share “American values” (which he insinuates are held only by Republicans). How does he hope that his average reader will react to what he says? Join the KKK? Go out and mistreat a few immigrants, so they’ll hopefully be disheartened and want to leave the country? I don’t understand his purpose in speaking this way.

I also don’t know when Schlafly’s ancestors came to America, but they probably didn’t share “Native American values” at the time. Perhaps a headline once read, “After years of speculation, estimates and projections, the Census Bureau has made it official: Native American births are no longer a majority in the United States.”🙂

Are you familiar with a minister by the name of Ray Bakke? He communicates a message that is quite opposite: that God has intentionally brought the nations to our doorstep here in America so that they might have a greater chance of hearing and witnessing the gospel than if they had not come, and so that God might reveal what’s in our hearts, etc. Last month I summarized one of his messages, which I appreciated very much. It can be seen here:

    http://kloposmasm.com/2012/04/02/the-incredible-mission-opportunities-in-our-cities/

It’s titled, “Compassion: The Drama of Urban Evangelization,” and some of the statistics he cites are just fascinating. America is definitely changing in terms of its demographics, and it’s amazing how different people with very different mindsets can view this phenomenon so differently.

Aha! We were thinking along the same lines Adam.

The Schlafly’s (and Barton’s) of this country act like prior to 1492 north America had no people living here!

No, can’t say that i am familiar with him Adam, but im sure going to read your summery of his message. What you/he wrote about America and the the Gospel could very well be true. As far as our hearts being revealed…i believe that.

  4. Adam the statistics are fascinating! I tried to comment at your blog but had some trouble so hope you see this.

And HEY! congratulations little brother! You and your fiancée look so happy in the photos. Jasmine is beautiful! God is good to us….

    • Thank you for the congratulations, and the compliment about Jasmine. God is good indeed!

I’m sorry you had trouble trying to post a comment at my blog. I’m not sure what happened, as I just successfully moderated another comment posted there several hours ago. In any case, I’m glad you enjoyed the statistics, and found them fascinating.

    • It could have been my browser Adam. I was on one i don’t normally use.

  5. Population shifts has been occurring in the in the America’s since the 1400’s. God was sovereign then and he his now!

    • The Lord Sovereign? may it never not be!

However, it doesn’t mean those perpetrating crimes are absolved of sins. My countrymen swarmed onto this land, called the Indians children of the devil, slaughtered them by the drove and multiplied to occupy the land. Then, as time wore on, some of the Americans who knew not what to do with the Indians stated that the Indians merely occupied the land and never possessed it (as the Americans are doing now).

It truly does show the condition of the heart when there is fear that “whites” (whatever that means) will not be the majority race. I, for one, welcome the many colors of God’s children.

  6. I’ve seen a lot of people commenting on this, mostly going to great lengths trying to hide reactions which are, really, racist in nature. (Being amused that the headline reads “More than half of babies born to minorities” makes up the rest of them.)

Sad, really. Doesn’t anyone remember that old Sunday School staple “Jesus loves the little children/All the children of the world/Red and yellow, black and white/They’re all precious in His sight …”?

I guess, maybe, He loves them when they’re not trying to crowd up America?
