God’s Word or John MacArthur’s?

A good message at 5 Pt. Salt which points out one of the most dangerous errors associated with Dispensationalism.

God’s Word or John MacArthur’s?

Yes, it is a false hope he preaches. And it is so sad because he seems to be gaining more and more followers?

I like the way John captures Jesus’ wisdom on that score, though, this score and every score every time:

Joh 5:13 Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place.
Joh 5:14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.”
Joh 5:15 The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him.
Joh 5:16 And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.
Joh 5:17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”
Joh 5:18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
Joh 5:19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.

On that score, “our Heavenly Father working until now” and “Jesus” working alongside Him until now, even more so now than back then, seeing He is now seated at His Father’s and ours Righteous Right hand, Jesus said this that also seems to say something different than what John MacArthur is saying about them, present day Jews of present day Israel:

Luk 23:26 And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.
Luk 23:27 And there followed him a great multitude of the people and of women who were mourning and lamenting for him.
Luk 23:28 But turning to them Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
Luk 23:29 For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’
Luk 23:30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’
Luk 23:31 For if they do these things when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

Jesus also said this about them then and how much more can it said about them now in our generation and should be said about them now in our generation seeing the direction they are going in now proclaiming to all the world that they are still the “special people of God”? No, no they are not. What is special in the world is the New Creation in Christ, made up of both Jews and Gentiles!

Joh 7:15 The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?”
Joh 7:16 So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
Joh 7:17 If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.
Joh 7:18 The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.
Joh 7:19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?”

I can testify to this one fact about the nation of Israel today and about those who hold to that ancient identity found about them through the writings of Moses and afterwards when it comes to being the people of the Law instead of Grace, they are dead set on establishing the moral and ceremonial laws of their ancient race establishing temple sacrifices again and are quietly working behind the scenes to that end even in these days.

Their only hope is the very same hope all are given which hope is best coined by these Words from the book of Romans and from that Pharisee of Pharisees, blameless according to the Law of Righteousness, that enemy/foe of Christianity then turned friend of Christianity then and now, Paul:

Rom 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

For us then, there remains a Sabbath Rest as is recorded this way from the book of Hebrews:

Heb 4:4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”
Heb 4:5 And again in this passage he said, “They shall not enter my rest.”
Heb 4:6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,
Heb 4:7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on.
Heb 4:9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God,
Heb 4:10 for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
Heb 4:11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

I finally conclude by saying this that there is going to be both, Jews setting aside the Law because of the weaknesses it reveals about the flesh increasing in obedience to the Faith once delivered to the Saints and then, those dry pieces of wood Jesus spoke about referenced above coming forth as an ever increasing noise by those who will remain in the same disobedience of their forefathers!

O’ Michael, amen, amen! I sensed the Holy Spirit when i read your comment…

Music from Broken Chords

Down in the human heart, crush'd by the tempter, Feelings lie buried that grace can restore; Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness Chords that were broken will vibrate once more. From the Hymn "Rescue the Perishing" by Fanny J. Crosby
