FRC joins with Church to ‘Actively Pray and Work for the Defeat of Barack Obama’

Right Wing groups like the Family Research Council, along with more and more Churches, have really stepped up their fight to do away with the separation of Church and State.  In their goal to “restore” America they are working hard to change America’s form of government from a Democracy to a Theocracy.  Rick, at Following Judah’s Lion, has written an excellent post on this topic. I hope you’ll read it: THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE An Evangelical Hypocrisy

The story below is only one of a number of similar news stories I read every day. The apostate Church in America has completely ‘come out’ of the closet. They have revealed themselves for what they really are. Christians who attend these type of Churches, I have a word for you: RUN! Get out of these idol worshiping, adulterous institutions now, for the word ‘Ichabod’ has been placed over the doors of your Church.

quote,

FRC president Tony Perkins and vice presidents Jerry Boykin and Kenyn Cureton are heading to Catalina Foothills Church in Tucson, Arizona for “Recapture America.” Cosponsors include the Center for Arizona Policy, the Alliance Defending Freedom (formerly the Alliance Defense Fund) and the church’s Christian Impact Committee. Recently the church claimed [PDF] that Obama is pushing a “reprioritization in human rights policy in favor of the advancement of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights” that is contributing to a “global crisis in religious liberty” and likened Obama to Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong and Saddam Hussein.

During his Sunday sermon, Rev. Allen Cooney called on members of the church to “actively pray and work for the defeat of Barack Obama” in the upcoming election as he is an “enemy” of Christianity and religious freedom.

  1. Here’s my perspective on all this. I posted these comments almost verbatim as these on another blog comment box dealing with this subject:

For me, a lesson to be learned comes from Christ’s own Words telling us this:

Luk 16:8 The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.
Luk 16:9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.

I am still weighing both the current President and praying for him, by the way; and the current Republican duo, a Mormon and a Roman Catholic; who it is I will vote for this coming November?

There is something to be said about the shrewdness of the current President and the shrewdness of the Republican ticket wanting to unseat him.

At this time neither of the choices we have have little to do with Reformed Theology except that fact that we are to pray for our leaders without regard for their affiliations to Christ as a Reformed is. The basis for my vote, it seems from those verses I cite, is based upon the shrewdness of their affairs governing or managing?

One thing that struck me yesterday and this morning reading the Word is the phrase used by Joshua when we read this in connection with my point about shrewdness:

Jos 3:11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is passing over before you into the Jordan.

Jos 3:13 And when the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from flowing, and the waters coming down from above shall stand in one heap.”

The phrase is this one: “the Lord of all the earth”. God is the One making the connection for Joshua and all peoples known to him when it comes to worshiping Him in Spirit and Truth. The Lord of all the earth is also the Omega and what He was doing back then really hasn’t changed all that much has it?

In our day whether or not a Mormon or a man of some other religious affiliation as the current President is in office, we know at least that all authorities are because of the Lord of all the earth and we ought to weigh the shrewdness of their fruits known in this country at least because our nation is a democracy and we elect our governors by election.

We do have some sense of the fruit of the current President now after he has governed the last few years, both in the Senate and Presidency. We also have some sense of the fruit of Mr. Romney, the depth of which few really have knowledge of.

I see that the one thing the Church has given up is the demonstration of the Spirit and the power that evokes a response as we read about there in Joshua by “nations” looking in and also possibly these, too?

Act 5:11 And great fear came upon the whole church and upon all who heard of these things.

Safe to say if God were to deal with people in the congregations today like He did by the hands of Peter with regard to the deceitfulness of Ananias and Sapphira there just might be some dread about the One True Church?

Oh well, my God does not slumber or sleep like I and you do!🙂

    • Safe to say if God were to deal with people in the congregations today like He did by the hands of Peter with regard to the deceitfulness of Ananias and Sapphira there just might be some dread about the One True Church?

      Amen Michael, Amen.

The apostate Church in America has grown bold. They no longer fear God.

  2. oh and one more thing that I have wanted to comment on of late but haven’t had the opportunity like this forum now affords me.

I will quote the verses then comment on something I haven’t seen raised as relevant in this debate about Mr. Romney’s mormonism and qualifications to lead the United States as her President.

1Co 7:13 If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him.
1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

It was brought to my attention some weeks ago that Mrs. Romney is in fact from a Protestant Presbyterian background.

In that case those Words of Scripture apply in some of the evaluation one makes whether or not God can deal with Mr. Romney’s mormonism and his heart governing the affairs of State with the Secretary of State if he were elected President.

Whether or not President Obama is fit as a Christian, which by all accounts of his ever so saltless public stances of late really is not much of an issue for that matter. Rather this is what is the matter for the Faithful in this country:

Pro 21:1 The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will.

So I end this as I did my other comment in here, “oh well. my God neither slumbers or sleeps like I or you do”!🙂

  3. […] PJ Miller mentions that the Family Research Council is actively praying for Obama’s defeat. Again, didn’t St. Paul have something to say on this? […]

Music from Broken Chords

Down in the human heart, crush'd by the tempter, Feelings lie buried that grace can restore; Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness Chords that were broken will vibrate once more. From the Hymn "Rescue the Perishing" by Fanny J. Crosby
