Quote of the Day

Came upon this one-liner today. Regrettably I think the author is correct, don’t you agree?

“God has been reduced to a figurehead who rubber-stamps things decided by man”

  1. Regretfully, I have to say I agree with you.

  2. To the mainstream church, God has been reduced to a pathetic image of Isaac, blind and ignorant…granting wishes to the clever.

  3. Reblogged this on The Master's Slave.

  4. Yes. And also man has been elevated into a god who rubber stamps everything he does. I agree with the sentiments of the author however God cannot be reduced. What man has created is his own self serving god who has no relation with the True God.

  5. It does sound like selfish reasoning. Sadly, consider, as a percentage equation, these verses, the character of which in all the Scriptures from Genesis to the book of the Revelation, are rare:

For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare. (Philippians 2:20 ESV)

Quite a statement about another! Me, myself and I tend to have the last word in everything! Im not proud of that! The intent of discipleship is to put to death these three so that Christ can do His work as intended! After all we are His workmanship created in Christ for good works.

I guess now we know the behind the scenes reality of jesus’ teaching about sowing and reaping 30, 60 and 100% to the Glory of God.

What does your citation point to? I’d say it points to the validity of this:

For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, (2 Timothy 3:2 ESV)

( LOVERS OF SELF )!!! Self centered selfish thinking is not one of the options for a disciple of Christ yet it seems the self is the last to go when loving God first and then other men second!

Music from Broken Chords

Down in the human heart, crush'd by the tempter, Feelings lie buried that grace can restore; Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness Chords that were broken will vibrate once more. From the Hymn "Rescue the Perishing" by Fanny J. Crosby
