Come apart from foolish fantasies…

Wanted to share this post written by a friend at facebook. Guess you could file this under something to think about…

What would happen to the illegitimate and popular prophetic forecast if the state of Israel no longer existed? Damascus, among other cities are still due for complete ruin according to Isaiah 17, so it’s not hard to imagine that the whole region could go up in mushroom clouds of apocalyptic glory. If that were the breaking news, (God forbid) another mass exodus from Israel is more realistic as opposed to gathering around a new temple; especially considering we are a generation that has no taste for historical or ceremonial Judaism. Land that could become contaminated and uninhabitable would no longer be desired as a pseudo evangelistic vacation spot nor would it remain as a bone of contention.

Scripture says to pray for the peace of Jerusalem as we are deceived into maintaining a humanistic dispensational version of what that means. Nevertheless, the only Israel of God today is inhabited by Abraham’s heirs and there’s not a Jew, Muslim or Christian among them; only a remnant, the elect of God.

I don’t mind being wrong but the capital of the true Israel is Calvary which is built over the empty tomb of the Almighty Himself. Take heed to yourself and do not listen to supposed Bible experts; they’re not even authorized representatives of reality let alone possessing enough wisdom to interpret the obvious. Many are concerned about dividing the current geographical property; get a clue; it’s already divided. That small parcel is nowhere near the promised borders that God achieved through Joshua (23:14) and expanded through Solomon.

It’s our duty to come apart from foolish fantasies and be separated unto the God in truth. As for the peace of Jerusalem, the children who are living out the faith of Abraham (*should) can remain calm during the upcoming events…

  1. Much of prophecy in the church today is like jiggling keys in front of a baby. Entertaining but worthless. If it does not change your life and humble you than it is little more than a Biblical curiosity.

    • Yes i guess it could be (keys in front of a baby) if that’s all we’re “seeing”…but prophecy has to be important to God (and subsequently, should be for us) because the bible is made up of between 25-30% prophecy. Some have reported its actually 28% prophecy.

I think the author made some very good points which could cause students of the bible to rethink some of their positions concerning unfulfilled prophecies. Many of these positions are hindering evangelistic endeavors in the middle east now…that’s important Rick, don’t you think?

      I actually loved the author’s one statement…

the true Israel is Calvary which is built over the empty tomb of the Almighty Himself

  2. I’ve been listening to the audio Bible now over and over and over again. For about 6 months I’ve been focusing in on the land promises God made to Abraham as I listen to the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit by the Scriptures reconfirms this land component again and again and again. Moses was not permitted to go into this promised land even though he argued for it! As you go through each book from Genesis to Malachi you are left with the sense the land is the important thing! Each Tribe was apportioned a parcel of land. God even punishes the Jews so that they are removed from it so the land can rest!

But this is ironic that its not about the land now during this present Gospel preaching era from Acts until now. The land thing was a tool for us to understand the real promises, the real land inheritance which is the GROOM from the Bride’s point of view and the BRIDE from the Groom’s point of view. This is what’s in view!

Jeremiah develops this in his writings from chapters 23 & 33.

The book of Hebrews develops this when this was written:

These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. (Hebrews 11:13-16 ESV)

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. (Hebrews 12:22-24 ESV).

In Jeremiah 23 the Branch is singular and it says of Him He is:

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’ (Jeremiah 23:5, 6 ESV)

But in chapter 33 it changes from a singular to a plural meaning and the KJV uses the word “SHE” instead of “He”:

In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our righteousness. (Jeremiah 33:16 KJV)

Now the ironic thing is present day Israel doesn’t get it and they’re not going to get it until the blinders are removed. Only until and when God reveals Christ to the Jews will they understand its no longer the land, stupid!

What do I mean by all this? Well let me point out something else that isn’t spoken, written or talked about much.

First something from the book of Acts then 1 Peter.

And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. (Acts 16:6, 7 ESV)

See that? What were they wanting to do? They wanted to preach the Gospel in Asia and even attempted to go into Bithyia but were not permitted!

    Now consider this verse:

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, (1 Peter 1:1 ESV)

See that? I submit the reason why Paul the Apostle and company wasn’t permitted to go into Asia or Bithynia (as a promised land inheritance) was it was given to Peter and his company as their Gospel land promised inheritance.

The whole earth is the Lord’s and He apportions what, where and when we work in a particular place or places.

Now that unique apportionment that was divided up to the eleven Tribes by Joshua as their land inheritance now is not what it’s all about. Now it’s the eternal inheritance and God’s eternal salvation coming to all the Elect being called to God through the Gospel out of every nation! Now it’s Jesus building His Church from people called to Him from every nation.

Now it’s not God driving out and destroying those nations so the 12 sons of Jacob can take possession of that promised land, that land they are fighting over in these days, but its God destroying these present heavens and earth after saving His Spiritual Sons and Daughters out of every nation:

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:9-13 ESV)

Now maybe the true spiritual sense can be understood when reading what Jeremiah prophesied that was cited above and repeated again here:

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah. In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our righteousness. (Jeremiah 33:14-16 KJV)

    • The land thing was a tool for us to understand the real promises, the real land inheritance

Praise God…yes! I recall the day this finally dawned on me, and it was while reading in Hebrews. I almost jumped up and danced around the room! ahahaha!!!

You posted a very good bible-study lesson Michael…thank you!!

Music from Broken Chords

Down in the human heart, crush'd by the tempter, Feelings lie buried that grace can restore; Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness Chords that were broken will vibrate once more. From the Hymn "Rescue the Perishing" by Fanny J. Crosby
