Fox’s Megyn Kelly: “Santa and Jesus were both White”

Supporting evidence for why Fox News Viewers are the most misinformed group of people in America…

“For all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white,” Kelly said. “But this person is just arguing that maybe we should also have a black Santa. But Santa is what he is.”

“Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn’t mean it has to change, you know?” she added. “I mean, Jesus was a white man too. He was a historical figure, that’s a verifiable fact, as is Santa — I just want the kids watching to know that.”

  1. Jesus and Santa were both white and conservatives. It is sooo important to maintain that perspective lest we succumb to ethnic Sharia Law.

  2. I’m not sure why this is controversial. Santa is a mythological character from white European culture. He has always been depicted as white although he originally had more demonic or goblin like features.

Although there are many subgroups, there are only three racial categories on the earth. They are Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and Negroid. Jesus as a middle eastern Semite would be classified as Caucasoid or Caucasian.

    These are facts, not misinformation.

    • Steve, as Santa is a fictional character loosely based on a fourth-century Greek bishop i can’t see that it matters what color children want to believe he is, do you? Red, purple, black or white—whatever makes a child happy. The idea that that a news commentator devotes a portion of her show, along with a 3-person panel, to discuss his “whiteness” is to me ridiculously funny.🙂

As for tossing in Jesus’ “whiteness” as well, as Jesus was a Jew who lived in the middle east before the invention of sun-screen, i doubt he was white, as we think of “white”. ahahaha…

    • I have to agree with PJ. Jesus probably has a great tan at the very least.

    • I highly doubt that was what she intended, otherwise she’d have said, explicitly, caucasian. White is a skin tone, one which neither a 1st century Palestine Jew nor a 4th century Anatolian bishop would’ve had. Your definition/categorization is not fact, but a particular essentialist definition, one which is debated. So it’s not an open/shut case, but air-headed buffoonery.

  3. The controversial part isn’t even that Jesus would have been olive skinned or even tan skinned. The controversial part is that it matters to professing believers like Megan Kelly. Who cares what color they were, and I also understand why some people do care and want their children not to see everything as white. But for believers it should be of no consequence at all. And I saw a news clip where Kelly was lamenting about having to drive so far to show her kids a nativity scene because public buildings cannot have one. These people have absolutely no clue and their idea of Christianity is a combination of family and symbols.

    • for believers it should be of no consequence at all

Exactly. The only thing of importance is,

“..it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” – 1John 3:2

      John’s description in Rev 1 is awe-inspiring.

“And I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands; and in the middle of the lampstands one like the Son of Man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His breast with a golden girdle. And His head and His hair were white like wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire; and His feet were like burnished bronze, when it had been caused to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. And in His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as a dead man. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying, ‘Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.”

Frankly, i think Kelly feeling the need to insist Jesus being white, as well as the fictional Santa, says something deeper about herself and the segment of the American culture she represents.

  4. That just goes to show why Americans prefer spin and ludicrousy as opposed to facts in media reports. This Christmas season we get to view Miley Cyrus with her buttocks pressed up against Santa (who, btw, was Turkish) and down some cheer without ever knowing Jesus was Jewish (and had no agenda to capitalize off myths).

    • Yes i agree…Many Americans prefer spin and outright lies over facts today. We’ve become a nation filled with people with agendas: if ‘it’ (whatever “it” is) fits our personal agenda and set of beliefs, the heck with the truth–we’ll buy into it lock, stock, and barrel.

  5. “I highly doubt that was what she intended, otherwise she’d have said, explicitly, caucasian. White is a skin tone, one which neither a 1st century Palestine Jew nor a 4th century Anatolian bishop would’ve had. Your definition/categorization is not fact, but a particular essentialist definition, one which is debated. So it’s not an open/shut case, but air-headed buffoonery.”

David had ruddy skin and red hair. Jacob had fair skin – air headed buffoonery?

  6. This is a prime example of American Cultural Christianity at its finest. Most of these people indeed have no clue as to what true biblical Christianity IS. There “religion” is a caricature of Christianity. It is all symbols and virtually no substance. And by substance, I am not referring to “family” or the “Constitution of the United States” or the “Sunday church service”. By substance, I am referring to what it is all about. That is the Son of God Himself coming to earth to dwell among us in human form and to willingly give His life for us on the cross in order that we would have LIFE here as well as in the hereafter and no longer be enslaved by our sins, and all of this without any credit to ourselves or our own efforts. It is about coming to a point in life where God is EVERYTHING and we are ZERO outside of God’s redemptive power working within us. It is about THY Kingdom come, THY will be done, not about enjoying life free from the irritations of having pagans around, not about leaving behind a spiritually comfortable nest for our offspring in the form of a “godly” kingdom here on earth. And all this time these people are blind to all of the corruption and ungodliness going on all around them as rich and poor alike clamor for material gain at the expense of anyone in their way. Oh … that’s just God ordained capitalism! Manifest destiny is not just a past relic of American history. It lives on with the wealthy of the world ever striving to lay claim to more of that which rightfully theirs by the providence of God. A concept which Fox News does a pretty good job of extolling to the heights.

    Merry Christmas!

Having said all of that, I would argue that anyone following any ideological agenda will be misinformed because is ALL has a bias. That’s the reality. The only way one gets a clear picture is to read both the conservative AND the liberal press AND the international press … and of course the Word of God and the church fathers over the ages which trump all of the secular and cultural religious garbage.

  7. I can’t even tolerate Fox news anymore. I cringe each time I pass by the channel.
