Consequences of False Doctrines on a Christian

A few days ago I came upon Kato Mivule’s newest message: Consequences of False Doctrines on a Christian. It got my attention because a friend and I had been discussing a similar topic recently. I’m a firm believer in singularity of interpretation when it comes to the Word of God…but am also aware of the differing views which many good bible-based Christians hold to on doctrines outside of those pertaining to salvation. My friend and I questioned if there are doctrinal issues that can and will matter, especially if we are living in the closing days prior to the Lord’s return.

Could some particular doctrinal beliefs cause you (or I) to stumble if we come to realize later we were in error?

What do you think….do all doctrinal beliefs matter?

I won’t post Kato’s entire message, but just a portion.

Consequences of False Doctrines on a Christian

Jesus Christ warned us ahead of time about False Teachings…
We recently took a study at our home fellowship on the effects of false doctrines on a believer. We took a look at Matthew chapters 15 and 23 as Jesus Christ confronted Pharisees and their doctrines. The Consequences of false teachings can be clearly seen as Jesus Christ rebukes the Pharisees in these chapters.

All serious Christians should take the consequences of false teachings seriously and seek to depart from all forms of False Doctrines and ‘Pharisee Leaven’.

Jesus Christ warned us about the Leaven of The Pharisees and Sadducees which is the doctrines and teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees… There are consequences of not putting out the Leaven of the Pharisees from our midst… The End result of accepting false teachings is DAMNATION TO HELL… So, watch out…

Matthew 16:5-12
(5) And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
(6) Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
(7) And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
(8) Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
(9) Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
(10) Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
(11) How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
(12) Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

We are to discern and test all things if they are of God or not… Those who fail to test spirits but believe every spirit face the danger of believing and following demons and devils…

1 John 4:1
(1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
What are False Doctrines?
What are False Doctrines or Pharisee Leaven anyway? These are teachings that contradict God’s Holy Word in one way or the other. These are Teachings that don’t line up with the Wholesome Word of God. These are teachings that contradict the Doctrine (Teachings) of Jesus Christ and the Teachings of the Apostles as we have them in the Epistles in the Bible. Therefore False Doctrines contradict the Teachings of Jesus Christ and of His Apostles as declared to us in God’s Holy Word – The Bible.

False Teachings always point Christians to Man, Man Made Organizations, Denominations, Self, Material things of this world, and how to Please Men. Many times False Doctrines have some element of Truth in them but the end result is always deception. Many times False doctrines might seem to use Scriptures as their basis but in many cases, scriptures are twisted so as to promote a tradition or false teaching…so, watch out.

Many times Christians say that there is no problem sitting under a pastor, preacher, bishop or apostle teaching False Teachings. They claim that they can still sit under such ministers who teach false teachings and simply filter out what is good from what is bad. Such naïve believers are deceived by ministers of false teachings that “fellowship” is more important than Doctrine and that this “fellowship” must never be broken at any cost…this is not what the Bible teaches as we shall see later…

It is imperative that all Christians take personal responsibility to self examine according to God’s Word and see if they still stand in the Faith. It is the personal responsibility that all Christians check what they hear preached and taught to them with God’s Holy Word so that they don’t get deceived. It is the responsibility of every Christian to test spirits to see if they are of God or Not… Hopefully this study will help you in this endeavor…
*The Outcome of False Doctrines on Christians – Matthew 15

Legalism and Traditions of Men are obeyed rather than God’s Word…
Matthew 15:1-2

(1) Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
(2) Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
The Commandments of God are Transgressed – Disobeyed…
Matthew 15:3-4
(3) But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
(4) For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
The Commandments of God are made of no Effect…
Matthew 15:5-6
(5) But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
(6) And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
Christians become Hypocrites as a result…
Matthew 15:7
(7) Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
Christians engage in Vain (Worthless) worship as a result…
Matthew 15:8-9
(8) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoreth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
(9) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Christians become defiled as a result of false doctrines…
Matthew 15:10-11
(10) And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
(11) Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Believers in False Doctrines become Offended at Truth always…
Matthew 15:12
(12) Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
Believers in False Doctrines will be uprooted – no Future for them…
Matthew 15:13
(13) But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
False Doctrines will always keep believers blind…
Matthew 15:14
(14) Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
False Doctrines makes you submit to Blind Christian Leaders…
Matthew 15:14
(14) Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
False Doctrines Lead to Destruction and Hell!
Matthew 15:14
(14) Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
…this is no joke, it is the responsibility of you as a Christian to check what you are preached to and taught and see if it lines up with Whole Counsel of God’s Holy Word…
False Doctrines will always leave believers without Understanding…
Matthew 15:15-20
(15) Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
(16) And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
(17) Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
(18) But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
(19) For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
(20) These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Jesus Christ rebukes Peter and asks “are ye also yet without understanding?”… The Pharisees lacked understanding in this matter… Have you ever asked yourself why sometimes you lack understanding of basic Bible Teachings? Check what you are being taught if it lines up with the Bible…

False Teachings will cause Persecution and Murder of the Righteous…
Matthew 23:34-36
(34) Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
(35) That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zechariah son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
(36) Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

As I have already hinted on this earlier, the end result of false teachings is going to be persecution and murder of the righteous. Jesus Christ has warned us about this that we beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees. It leads to murder and Hell! As I said earlier, those who hold to false teachings will end up persecuting and murdering the true believers in Jesus Christ.

It is time that you examine all that you believe before it is too late. Jesus Christ placed the Blood of all the righteous who were killed from Abel to Zechariah on the feet of the Pharisees. We don’t want to be part of such a team because The Lord will avenge strongly for His Saints… However, False Teachings is one way believers can sell out and be part of the murderous Pharisee team… You don’t have to be a part of it…

  1. I have been told I am skeptical.

Have heard good sermons come out of men and women and then I have seen a change in them…

I don’t need to know what exactly happen to cause the change, I just know these women and men thought they were doing what they believed God wanted them to do, yet The Lord did not Speak.

I am reminded of what the Word says… no heart is good. We may want to think we are good, but we aren’t… no matter how much good we try do, if it isn’t God’s good work then it is just flesh.

This too makes me wonder… what has happen to us? What makes us as christians believe that the word of God wasn’t good enough for us in it’s form? The Word of God, nor does He ever change, but we do, and with our changes we want to Dissect the Word to death in order to find the Truer Meanings, the Truer Revelations, The truer Deeper Well Thoughts and not once consider the Originator of the Word. We make it FIT into OUR LIFESTYLE and OUR PURPOSE.

Before re-translating it (the Word) why not ASK HIM?

    Good READ pj.

  2. What do you think Oxy, is it possible some particular doctrinal beliefs could cause you (or I) to stumble if we come to realize later we were in error?

    If so, which ones?

  3. Saints,

Peter warned us of prophets and teachers in the last days teaching destructive heresies. They’re denying the Lord that once bought them by His blood. Paul warned anyone teaching heresies will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal. 5:20-21) These ministers were once saved. In the second chapter of my new book, The Wolves in Sheep Clothing, the Holy Spirit led me to expose four heresies deceiving many in the church today.

    1. The denial of Jesus as the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18) (Larry Huch) Video #11

    2. The denial of Jesus as the Messiah (Christ). (John 1:22) (John Hagee) #21

    3. The denial of everlasting torment for the wicked. (Mat. 10:28) (Carlton Pearson) #25

    4. The denial of Jesus as the only way to be saved. (Acts. 4:12) (Billy Graham) #26

*You may watch the above teachers teaching these heresies on my website under Video YouTubes (paulbortolazzo.com)

  4. Pastor John MacArthur condemns the best selling book, The Purpose Driven Life, for teaching an inadequate gospel. [39. The Purpose Driven Life Has An Inadequate Gospel, T. 0:01-2:50] MacArthur believes Rick Warren’s false gospel is contributing to apostasy within the body of Christ (1 Tim 4:1, 2 Tim. 4:3-4). This is odd statement coming from a pastor that teaches a Christian can’t fall away! The frightening truth is once the Man of Sin seizes control of the nations the falling away of believers will explode (Rev. 13:7, 2 Thes. 2:3-4). This is why teaching the church will miss the Great Tribulation is so treacherous. [40. Dr. Charles Stanley-The Great Tribulation 2, T. 6:53-6:57]
Most believe their favorite Bible teacher is being led by the Holy Spirit. Many say my pastor taught it, I believe it, and that settles it. The end result is their pastor can’t be wrong. Such unchecked allegiance is why so many will deny the Lord during the Great Tribulation by following the Beast (Mat. 24:4-5)!
