The Dark Side of Joseph

You may find this as interesting as I did, though admittedly, it’s very controversial.

“Was Joseph really a type of Christ or a type and shadow of the coming AntiChrist?  The following article is used by permission from a source who wishes to remain anonymous. It is a fascinating read and well worth the time…”

See, The Dark Side of Joseph

  1. I would say Joesph represents the “Body” of Christ more than the body of the anti-christ. I see the parallels for both from the article.

  2. “This is how the Israelites were persuaded to come to Egypt and they became slaves there for over 400 years…was this God’s plan or was this Satan’s plan?”

    Genesis 15:13
Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.

  3. It is an interesting article–to be frank, i don’t know what to think about it.

I probably need to read it again…

  4. I can see why the author of this article chose to remain anonymous. How mature do you think a 17 year old Joseph (or any 17 year old) would be? I think the author read far too much into Joseph’s life. To me this is speculation and a big imagination.

    • I tend to agree with you Robin knowing how big my imagination still gets!

I was willing to go along with his “without” prejudice, but now after reading your comments, PJ’s and William’s citation, I guess I can still see what he’s up too with his imagination in yours.

  5. AMEN Robin Johnson,

I too can see exactly why the author of this article chose to remain anonymous. My response is – ‘Theres always one’ …….!
I will continue to listen to men of sound doctrine plus the inner confirmation I receive from the Holy Spirit Himself, when I delve into Joseph’s incredible life, as I have done many times. It ALWAYS moves me to tears.
    sigh!

  6. Well, i finally got around to re-reading this (instead of scanning it, lol) and this was my thought:

I can respect the author’s time and study he/she put into the life of Joseph, but i think like many who fall into last-day prophecy speculating, they believe they see things which are not there. If we speculate enough we could most-likely see anything..

    The author stated:

If Joseph is a true type of Christ, then we will have to look at every aspect of his life as it is revealed in the Bible.

Well, i don’t see Joseph as a ‘type’ or ‘shadow’ of Christ, but an analogy; his life is more of an example to us. The reason why is he is not named as a ‘type’ of Christ in the new testament, while other types and shadows, (and anti-types) are made very clear.

    For instance…

For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things… Heb 10:1

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Colossians 2: 16-17

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure (*or type) of him that was to come. Romans 5:14

Which was a figure (*or type) for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Hebrews 9: 9 (all of chapter 9 actually)

The Exodus, Ex 12:37-42, is a ‘type’ of Jesus Christ’s return from His flight to Egypt, Matt 2:21.

The manna in the desert, Ex 16:31, is a ‘type’ of Christ. Matt 26:26.

The water from the rock which Moses struck in Ex 17:1-6, is a ‘type’ of the Blood of Christ.

    etc..

Anyway, those are my thoughts. The author, i don’t ‘think’ is some kind of nut, but just one of many who get caught up in last day prophecy and too much speculating.

  7. Well… that is interesting. So, Joseph Farrah (at WND) is the anti-Christ. Well, he does have that big manly mustache! 😉

This is quite intersting and I will have to go over it more later when I have time. Right up front, though, the first thing taht came to mind was alarm bells. As soon as I hear “I just feel the Lord is telling me…” red flags go up.

But, it’s not like I don’t thinl that God tells me some things sometimes – especially when I insist that divine inspriation come conly through the illumination (ie, understanding of) the scriptures. And this article certainly fits that description. He’s taken a very scripture-central explantion.

    Very interesting…

    • So, Joseph Farrah (at WND) is the anti-Christ.

Ahah.. hmmm i may have to agree with the author then… 🙂

  8. Well, we DO have a vice president named Joseph. And he is the #2 man to (for all practical purposes) an Egyptian US President.
