The Mystery Of Iniquity

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 2Thess. 2:7

***

By the late C. Parker Thomas, Midnight Cry Ministries: LYING SIGNS & WONDERS, Chapter 12: THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY

There are many mysteries referred to in the bible — for example, the mystery of Christ, the mystery of the gospel, the mystery of the kingdom, and the mystery of iniquity. A mystery is something that is hidden. At least it is hidden until God sees fit to reveal it. Deuteronomy 29:29.

The Greek word for iniquity “anomia,” as used here by Paul, means illegality, violation of law, transgress, transgression of the law, wickedness, or unrighteousness. The root word “anomas” that “anomia” comes from means principally lawless, not subject to law, or without law.

From a study of the two words it is evident that “anomia” is used where the transgressor may be and often is working under the cloak of religion or good works. It is a subtle type of iniquity because it masquerades as good and often has the approval and the esteem of the world behind it. An example of this type of iniquity is found in Matthew 7:22-23.

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? and then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

From a study of Matthew 7 it is evident this worker of iniquity was connected with the false prophets that come in sheep’s clothing and the broad way that leads many to their destruction.

SATANIC CONSPIRACY

This work of iniquity or lawlessness is not just the rebellious nature of man in manifestation against authority. It is a calculated work of satanic wisdom working behind the facade of religion and good works. It is actually the age-old conspiracy of Lucifer and his wicked host to control the whole world system and eventually lead man into open rebellion against God.

Although it was held in check in Paul’s day it was already at work in the world. “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: ….”

Let’s notice two other translations of this scripture. “For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work …” (Williams). “Meanwhile, the conspiracy of revolt is already at work …” (Knox).

Called the secret power of lawlessness, the power behind man’s rebellion against God is Satan and his demoniac host. Called a “conspiracy of revolt” by Knox, the mystery of iniquity is simply the continuation of Lucifer’s original conspiracy of revolt against God.

Blinded by this power of lawlessness, man, for the most part, is completely ignorant of who his real enemy is. This is what Paul is talking about in Ephesians 6:12, where he says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

It is also this same power that blinds man to the truth of the gospel. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4.

In both of the foregoing scriptures the revelation of God shows us the real power arrayed against God’s people. It likewise shows us the secret power that blinds the minds of men “lest the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

The most difficult thing in the world for man to see is that the whole world order including most of its religion is a giant conspiracy of Satan to keep man from the truth. Although some would admit to the baser expressions of lawlessness being inspired of the devil, very few can see the diabolical wisdom of Satan permeating the whole world system. This indeed is “… the mystery of iniquity….”

Behind the governments of the world, including the political and religious systems, are the unseen rulers of darkness headed up by Lucifer. There is not a government, political or religious philosophy in the world that has not been corrupted by Satan.

Our real enemy is not man but forces of evil, called powers, principalities, world rulers, spirit forces, angelic rulers, angelic authorities and potentates. These are all living and operating from the supernatural, invisible realm of darkness. Webster defines the word “principality” as a prince of a territory.

We are prone to think of Satan’s emissaries as living only in a disembodied state, hovering around in space and whispering evil into our ears. It is true, there are literally billions of evil spirits living in the atmosphere around the earth, tempting, deceiving, harassing, and vexing mankind. But the devils that we need most to be on the alert for are those who are trying to influence us through man. This is where Satan through his demon host does his greatest damage in leading men to ruin.

Though we do not wish to minimize the need for guarding our minds against the enemy that whispers in our ears, we must also be on the alert against him deceiving us through man. This type of deception may be on a much higher plane, but it is just as destructive and can lead into a morass of spiritual and moral corruption that brings forth death.

Demons’ greatest work of deception and evil is accomplished as they project themselves through the life and personality of a person. Their evil spirit nature is actually imparted or ministered in this manner.

Even as God’s spirit is ministered to man through human vessels, so is the spirit of lawlessness ministered to man through human vessels. As the word of God is the vehicle or means through which God enters a human life. Satan’s word, the lie, is the means used to enter and destroy man.

Beyond doubt Satan’s kingdom is a vast organized conspiracy with master spirits located in strategic places throughout the earth.

It seems each earthly kingdom or domain is ruled over by these evil princes. God’s messenger to Daniel was hindered from coming to Daniel for twenty-one days by the Prince of Persia who was evidently one of Satan’s evil princes over this earthly kingdom. Daniel 10:1-13. Michael the Archangel, called “one of the chief princes” in God’s kingdom, came and fought against the prince of Persia thus enabling the messenger to get through to Daniel.

It will also be noted from verse 20 that the prince of Grecia was expected to come after the messenger departed to fight with the prince of Persia. This prince of Grecia was no doubt another evil potentate probably indwelling the human king over Grecia who would come on the scene later. The thing we need to see from these scriptures is that human personalities under the control of evil spirits were actually involved. The kings of Persia referred to in verse 13 were no doubt also men under the control of evil spirit personalities.

All this simply bears out the great truth that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but powers and principalities. Through often hiding under the cloak of human flesh it is evil spirit beings who are our real enemies.

From this we also learn that God’s princes among men and angels (Daniel and Michael) can expect to be bitterly opposed by Satan’s princes. We also learn that Christ and his holy angels are working with God’s people against Satan and his evil host.

Above all we must begin to see that human personalities, high and low, are merely pawns of Satan in his battle against Christ and his kingdom.

Although the mystery of iniquity has been held in check during this day of grace, unfettered freedom will be given to organize the nations into one diabolical whole before the coming of Christ. This has been Satan’s purpose from the beginning. For a short time he will think his dream has come true as the whole world of unregenerate mankind embraces a strong delusion.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. verses 11-12

  1. This article should be given to all before they enter the voting booth. Satan plays both ends from the middle…like burning a string from each end. He was depicted as “Janus” in the old world…[where we get January from..]; a double faced being on one head. Consider a “white witch”…like the wizard of Oz western gal…

The other take I get though, is that Jesus is Lord no matter what Prince wars or sits on High. Nebuchadnezzar was absolutely manipulated by the Lord…in the End. He worshipped himself, and his power…[very Satanic..], and cruelly sacked Jerusalem as a tool in God’s hand, at the same time he was humbled and shown mercy…totally by grace..and the redeemed will fellowship him in New Jerusalem…he’s a brother!

His son however was not shown mercy, and is evidently in Hell. Herod “stretched forth his hand and killed James with the sword, and seeing it pleased the Jews, imprisoned Peter.” Was this Herod? I think not. This was the Devil in Herod, using him as a marionette puppet…to destroy the fledgling Church.

However, the proof is in the pudding. Who holds power? The church awoke, and in alarm, PRAYED. The battle with the mystery of iniquity is not like a magic wand. There is real blood, sweat and tears within it. Our dependence becomes our Faith, and it must be real. God allows the battle, and there are real casualties. Some martyrs…..James the brother of John, and Steven….and some failures…Judas and Diotrephes.

Peter went on, thanks to a Omnipotent God, but connected to a dependent and submitted Church…who realized, as David, that their enemies were stronger than them, but trusted that they were not greater than their God.

“Let no man beguile you from the simplicity that is in Christ.” Christianity is for the faith of the Child…the faith as of ones sent as lambs among wolves. It is not complicated. We will leave that up to the sorcerers and witches, and the evil Princes that war against us. We will trust and obey…and somehow, in a very holy way, prayer is in this mix, and sometimes, God will not deliver until we cry out…as an infant to his mother for an embrace and some milk.

It’s all very amazing to me. The reality of the mystery of iniquity, and the reality of the Lord Jesus….it’s more fantastic than any Star Wars movie. The other issue is that we MUST overcome. It is not an option to fail. “For those who OVERCOME will I give the right to eat from the TREE OF LIFE.

Another thing that amazes me, is Satan in the Church. I think of Bentley and the NAR…they are as obvious as the Catholics or Mormons, but being the “Prophetic ” NEO-CONS [double innuendo..I like that…] that they are.it astounds me; impacts me more abruptly. Some where along the way, we can become a part of the mystery of iniquity. We did not start that way. we began in the simplicity of loving God, and our brother…but through our Ambition and Pride to excel…[I will ascend…], we became enveloped by the power and mystery of iniquity.

This frankly scares the hades out of me..for I see it happening daily….good men gone bad….LISTEN UP NAR!

I try to adhere to honoring and loving the “least of the brethren”…whoever that may be. There’s safety in that, plus it makes God happy. Satan is in the Lake of fire..for Jesus is the beginning..AND…the end. Never stop fighting.

  2. Amen! I gotta go to work…I’d rather be blogging!

  3. PJ

Thank you for your work. It’s exactly what I was looking for.

    Keep contending

  4. Excellent post PJ, this is one of those subjects that most would prefer not to touch on. But, its a reality that’s not going away, and unfortunately, is getting stronger each day.
I appreciate your comment Tom, you explained it well, there are some real casualties in this battle, and some chose to ignore the darkness, rather than deal with something that is all too real. 2 Corinthians 11: 13-15 demonstrates the depth of which the devil will go, to ensnare God’s children, and the fact that our churches are controlled by evil hosts is too hard for some to accept.
Some organizations are easy to spot, like the NAR, the Mormons and the Catholics, but the invasion of truth is present in most denominations. This is why personal Bible study is so important. As I have said before, the devil doesn’t waste his time ‘killing the dead’, his focus is aimed right at the heart of God’s children.
I don’t get involved in politics, because I have long known that God has allowed these evil things to come to pass for His purpose. There are certain subjects I do not touch upon, simply because the truth can be too hard on some hearts, and I’d rather encourage walking with the LORD.
But, it is a mistake to turn away, when many souls are in the line of fire, and I pray that the Lord will show me a way to gently reveal some of these things, as the days of man, draw near to a close.
The history of spiritual invasion into the lives of men is very deep, since it is a very old practice. There is no walk in life, whether in the clergy, the governments, the universities, the courts, the sciences, medicine, entertainment, publishing, or news that is not controlled by their evil masters. This is a truth that most do not wish to hear, but sadly, will not go away, until Jesus Christ returns.
Therefore, as a servant of God, it is not a matter of panic, confusion or fear, but as Tom says, but to love the least of our brethren. That is the cry of the warrior of God, and should be our focus. But to do this, requires preparation, and a willingness to understand that our lives in this world are not to be expressed, by being a part of it.
Hence, here is the test, and measure of our love for God and His redeemed, and that is our purpose in a church, and how long to remain in one. Because the day is coming that one will be called out, and will need to flee, without hesitation. Very difficult thing to do, when one loves those, he gathers with.
Therefore, one needs to recognize that the purpose of Christians in a congregation, is to stand for truth, and to teach the purity of the Word. Eventually, one will be asked to leave, or God will lead you away, because your work is done. As a result, private study, worship and prayer will have to be done in the home. But that does not mean that you cannot congregate with others. One should, by all means seek the strength of a group of true believers. They are out there, and I pray that we all find the home group that God will lead us to, when the time is right.
Now, having said all of this, there is a valid reason behind this teaching in 2 Thessalonians 2 that we must be considered strongly, in that, the Apostle Paul says that there will be a falling away (apostasy) and that man of sin is revealed, prior to the return of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the full concept of this chapter is in relation to this strong delusion that is already here.
This delusion is linked to the man of sin, and herein is the problem: some say the anti-Christ has already lived and died. Others contend that he hasn’t been revealed yet, and some insist that the man of sin is a system, is this, is that, or symbolic of this. This is the delusion we as Christians face, confusion.
There is only one God, One Spirit and One Word, and yet we are exposed to many teachings, and most are designed by the devil’s hand to hide the truth, and cause many to believe a lie.
Hence, when one goes to church, and because I know that there are still true churches out there, our responsibility is to test the spirit, whether it be of God. (I John 4: 1) We can only do this by taking what is said, what is taught and what is the fruit, and comparing that with scripture.
Then, if there be error, our path is clear. We must raise the issue, and pray that some will see the truth. Many won’t, but that is not our concern, for we walk in faith, redeeming the time, because it is very short, and the delusion grows.
Thank You Lord for this little church, and pray that peace dwells among us, and that your will be done. Amen.

  5. Excellent comments Tom and Dave2!

Both of you take the topic and expound upon it even more…

I try to adhere to honoring and loving the “least of the brethren”…whoever that may be. There’s safety in that, plus it makes God happy.

amen Tom, and it makes satan angry..

Some organizations are easy to spot, like the NAR, the Mormons and the Catholics, but the invasion of truth is present in most denominations. This is why personal Bible study is so important.

Dave2 this is so important for us to understand…

We have to know the word personally, not rely on others to feed it to us–for God forbid, the very spirit of iniquity could be operating in them at the time.

Its not the obvious we need to be on guard against but that which is not obvious…

Knowledge of Word and Godly Discernment is are things we are going to HAVE to have in the coming days. I dare say that without both we will most assuredly get caught up in a last day delusion.

Thanks for the link Golda…i’ll check it out….

And Jim, God bless you for the encouragement…

  6. >>”There are certain subjects I do not touch upon, simply because the truth can be too hard on some hearts, and I’d rather be encouraging walking with the Lord”<<
    Dave2,
I enjoyed your comment. I was curious as to whether you are afraid you would drive some away with the truth, or if you feel led not to talk about it. The truth is so important and I pray that you do find that gentle way that you are seeking to expose it. I, for one, would be interested in what you really think, even if it is hard to bear.
I agree that we must take everything we hear, or are taught and compare it with the scriptures. It is our only source that is always 100% correct. I listened to an interesting sermon on ‘Searching the Scriptures’ last week by a preacher named Joel Hiatt. I had never heard of him before, but thought his preaching was pretty good. He is an old time fire and brimstone guy, so that may turn some people off because of the style in which he preaches. But I love that kind of preaching so I’ll provide the link.

    Thomas,
I was riveted by your comment also. I admire your knowedge and always enjoy hearing what you have to say.

  7. This is an interesting read today, PJ. I would like to develop some thoughts here and it is a little bit long. I hope it comes across succinctly and clear though?

    Here goes:::>

I have a friend that I have known for over 30 years who pastors a church in San Francisco. A group of his flock were assaulted yesterday I believe while praying on a street in the Castro’s district downtown.

What is interesting to me is an email I sent him several days ago, before the incident.

I will paste most of the email, [it isn’t long] and the relevant portions to make a point about our involvement with one another and why we need to be praying or each other continually and looking out for one another for edification, exhortation, and at times warnings.

The post changes some, I’ll be leaving out some personal stuff but the salient points should become clear with regard to your message about Satan?

    To the pastor friend:

[“I was and still am in the Spirit praying. As I am praying I am reading the Book of the Revelation to John in chapter one and this verse:

16 In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.

Whatever you are now involved in I am encouraged to discourage it and in fact, as I was praying I was taken back in memory to a prayer I prayed over you and your wife at the Land in [deleted] one summer some years ago. At that time and right now the same Voice I heard I hear saying two things.

One, the “seven continents” and two, [deleted/personal to him].

If you are being distracted right now by a “spirit” or a “word”, beware.

Equally now as I am typing this I am quickened to quote this too:::>

2Co 4:1 Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.

2Co 4:2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.

2Co 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing.

2Co 4:4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

2Co 4:5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

2Co 4:6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

    2Co 4:8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;

    2Co 4:9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

2Co 4:10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

2Co 4:11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

2Co 4:12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.

    and

2Ti 2:3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

2Ti 2:4 No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.

    I have reported, you decide?”]

end of email to my friend.

I would note some things here now.

One, consider this portion of the verse from Revelation 1:4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,

See those words, “the seven spirits who are before his throne”?

Now look at this, two verses:::>

Rev 5:5 And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
Rev 5:6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

See there, God sends out the seven spirits of God into “all” the earth?

We know God as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

One of the “mysteries” of God is this “body” of Christ or Christ in you the Hope of Glory.

It is interesting to me to weigh out the involvement Satan has in this fallen world and his structures, his workers and how they work and “where” they work. It is clear that Satan is not “omnipresent” like God is. It equally is clear that God allows our enemies to attack us!

There is an interest phrase that I would like to put on here to make that point clear, I hope? The phrase is “to and fro”.

    ESV:
2Ch 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.”

To and fro here is this Hebrew word:
    שׁוּט
    shûṭ
    shoot
A primitive root; properly to push forth; (but used only figuratively) to lash, that is, (the sea with oars) to row; by implication to travel: – go (about, through, to and fro), mariner, rower, run to and fro.

    ESV:
Job 1:7 The LORD said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

To and fro here is this Hebrew word:
    מנּי מנּי מן
    min minnîy minnêy
    min, min-nee’, min-nay’
For H4482; properly a part of; hence (prepositionally), from or out of in many senses: – above, after, among, at, because of, by (reason of), from (among), in, X neither, X nor, (out) of, over, since, X then, through, X whether, with.

There is certainly a difference in God’s omnipresent movements and Satan’s movements on the earth and through the air.

Now consider another verse, hopefully you will understand what point I am making here?

Gen 1:2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

The creation is the “heavens and the earth”. The darkness in this verse refers to “fruit”. The question is “who” produced that fruit? And of course the “Spirit of God” here is the Holy Ghost.

It was a full 5 and a half days before God created man from “material” already created and in existence. We know “what” and “who” God created was “very good”. We also know that God is “Light”, God is “Spirit” and there is no “darkness” in Him at all.

Now, if one is not careful that topic and those ideas in the article you write about on Satan and what he is doing in the world can become foreboding to the weak one’s soul and cause one to become discouraged and overwhelmed with the wrestling with these evil forces that we have been enlisted as Soldiers of Christ in the world to wrestle with. And as Paul teaches us that we are the “first fruits” of God’s Holy Creatures in the fallen world, that fallen “world” of humanity under the oppression of the devil so that they might gain “Hope” too.

Rom 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Rom 8:19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
Rom 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
Rom 8:21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
Rom 8:23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
Rom 8:24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?
Rom 8:25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Now, if you will permit me I would go down two paths.

Here is the first one. Consider what is being taught here from Hebrews:

Heb 12:14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
    Heb 12:15 See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

We are to “strive” for Peace with everyone and holiness.

We are equally to “see to it that no one, no one, no one, fails to obtain the grace of God”.

    Wow, what a calling!!

Let me put up a couple more verses to try and bring this down to earth. One instruction comes from the old testament and one instruction comes from the new testament and both deal with how the “strong in Christ” are to assist the “weak and poor among us”.

    First here:

Deu 15:1 “At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release.
Deu 15:2 And this is the manner of the release: every creditor shall release what he has lent to his neighbor. He shall not exact it of his neighbor, his brother, because the LORD’s release has been proclaimed.
Deu 15:3 Of a foreigner you may exact it, but whatever of yours is with your brother your hand shall release.
Deu 15:4 But there will be no poor among you; for the LORD will bless you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess–
Deu 15:5 if only you will strictly obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all this commandment that I command you today.
Deu 15:6 For the LORD your God will bless you, as he promised you, and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow, and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.
Deu 15:7 “If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother,
Deu 15:8 but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.
Deu 15:9 Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say, ‘The seventh year, the year of release is near,’ and your eye look grudgingly on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to the LORD against you, and you be guilty of sin.
Deu 15:10 You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake.
Deu 15:11 For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

and here in Acts letting Scripture interpret Scripture:

Act 20:32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
Act 20:33 I coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel.
Act 20:34 You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me.
Act 20:35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”

We must “first” be receivers in order to be “blessed” givers to see to it that no one fails to obtain the Grace of God. We are called upon to help the needy and weak and poor among us. That is the function of the Church of the Lord Jesus today.

Now for the second path. This is that path that shows us something about “how” we war an effective warfare against Satan and some of the humor in it, if there is any humor to be found in our dealings with the devil?

Consider first off the “eternal purpose” of the Church as Paul teaches it here:::>

Eph 3:8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
Eph 3:9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things,
Eph 3:10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
Eph 3:11 This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord,
Eph 3:12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.
Eph 3:13 So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.

Do you see verse 10? Paul is saying something to the “Church” or as I like to say, he is connecting the dots, to the “seven” spirits sent out into all the earth.

    Now for a “Satan” lesson.

I want to open up a couple of things. Hopefully you can sense and see the humor of God in them?

First off here at 1 Cor. 5,

1Co 5:3 For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing.
1Co 5:4 When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus,
1Co 5:5 you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

    Did you catch that Church?

What? I thought Satan wants to kill, steal and destroy us?

Here we have an Apostle asking the “Church” to turn the man over to Satan to “destroy” his “flesh” so that his “spirit” is saved! That must have made Satan mad, don’t you think? As I use to believe, Satan is working overtime to make sure and see that our spirits go to hell not help them alone to go to Paradise, where he will never come too! 🙂

Here’s another one of those humorous verses. See if you can catch the humor in it?

1Ti 1:18 This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,
1Ti 1:19 holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith,
1Ti 1:20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Huh, now Paul is turning over to Satan Alexander and Hymenaeus to teach them “not” to blaspheme!

What? The devil is the “chief blasphemer” and now he has to teach a couple of shipwrecked in the faith guys not to blaspheme. That also must make him mad! 🙂

But, so that we do not lose perspective here. We ought not to get to involved in these things until or unless Jesus Christ brings you along and into it. For balance consider this that Paul wrote::::>

2Co 12:6 Though if I should wish to boast, I would not be a fool, for I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain from it, so that no one may think more of me than he sees in me or hears from me.
2Co 12:7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.

    And this here:::>

1Th 2:17 But since we were torn away from you, brothers, for a short time, in person not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face,
1Th 2:18 because we wanted to come to you–I, Paul, again and again–but Satan hindered us.

So, how do I rap this one up?

Well, at the end of course and I hope I have put some of this wrestling with the devils, the principalities and powers of spiritual wickedness, into a manageable perspective for you so that you will not lose heart but rather stand up in the strength that Christ died for you to receive and stand up in to fight the devils?

2Ti 2:3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
2Ti 2:4 No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.

I mostly want to encourage you to see to it that no one fails to obtain the Grace of God. You have it now, haven’t you?

Now, while we are well placed by the Hand of God to be in Christ, as the Bride of Christ, the Wife of the Lamb, we too can send out our Gospel message this way:::>

Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.
Rev 22:15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Rev 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
Rev 22:17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.
Rev 22:18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,
Rev 22:19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
Rev 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
Rev 22:21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

    Amen?

    Amen!

  8. Michael…Amen and Amen!!!!!

  9. -“Beyond doubt Satan’s kingdom is a vast organized conspiracy with master spirits located in strategic places throughout the earth.”

This has been so since the beginning. Back in Genesis 32:8. Please try to read this paper if you get a chance. The first few pages are rough…but the information is important. It helps one to understand that we really are not of this world. There are many who have control of it, but there is only one God…the rest is deception…through men, through princes and principalities, gods and religion. We can only be saved from deception through an unwavering reliance on scripture as our truth and the Holy Spirit as our guide.

We are going through a time of great deception. It is a time when we have to be drenched in the Word if we are to remain sober minded, We have to put on the full armor of God. We won’t be able to discern the truth if we don’t.

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

    Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

    Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

    And remember:

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him,

2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

    2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way.

2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

2Th 2:9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

2Th 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

2Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given [us] everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

2Th 2:17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

    And remember this:

1Th 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all [men].

1Th 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any [man]; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all [men].

    1Th 5:16 Rejoice evermore.

    1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1Th 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.

    1Th 5:20 Despise not prophesyings.

1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Th 5:24 Faithful [is] he that calleth you, who also will do [it].

    And this:

    Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luk 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

    Luk 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

Luk 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

Luk 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

Luk 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Luk 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares.

Luk 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Here’s the deal. What God has said is already done. There will be deception. We are warned over and over. We can not overcome the deception without the Word. I have been listening to the Chalcedon foundation. The deception is so subtle. Oh PJ. It’s so subtle. I wound’t have ever caught it had I started listening to it before I started coming to this blog. It’s scary…and I rely on my brothers and sisters to speak out when they feel that something is deception.

PJ, Thomas, Dave2, Michael and Lisa…thanks for the encouragement.
